Summary: The Last Alfred Hitchcock Movie done in style.
Review: Hitchcock's last film was a light/comedy type mystery with another cast of fairly well known actors and the last time the film crew behind the camera reunited to do one more movie with the master of suspence. This film revolves a plot to locate a missing heir and wither psyic powers really exist or not. Karen Black and Bruce Dern give good performances, and the music is scored by John Williams (his last film before JAWS and the rest is history).

Summary: Alfred Hitchcock's Last Film is a Great Movie!
Review: I loved Family Plot! It was suspenseful and it has it's funny parts too. Barbara Harris is very funny as the phony psychic. I liked the plot to this movie alot as well. Although this may not be one of Hitchcock's best films, I still like it.

Summary: A Waste of Film!
Review: I wouldn't watch this movie again if my life depended on it. It was a boring movie with absolutly no suspense. It was far to predictable. This was one of Alfred's worst!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Worth a second look
Review: It had been years since I had seen this film and didn't expect it to age well, but I was happily proved wrong. "Family Plot" holds up well, thanks in large part to Barbara Harris and Bruce Dern, who make a wonderful offbeat couple. Devane is perfectly smarmy as a jeweler with a taste for expensive diamonds. Karen Black gives one of her cooler performances. This film relies more on characterizations, in the same vein as "Rear Window," than it does plot, which hinges loosely on an old murder mystery. Not one of Hitchcock's best but well worth a second look.

Summary: The last Hitchcock Film.
Review: Made about four years before he passed away, Alfred Hitchcock's final film is once again a comedy/adventure that stars Karen Black and Bruce Dern, as well as many familar face actors in a funny story about efforts to find a missing heir. Not a great film by any means, but watchable.

Summary: family plot
Review: not the best but worth the view for any real fan of Hitchcock's work. has the tongue-in-cheek comedy characteristic of his other films while stil delivering on the action and mystery

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A fine finish to a great career.
Review: Of course Family Plot is not one of Hitchcock's masterworks, but it packs a suspenseful and a humorous punch. A phony psychic and her taxi-cab driving boyfriend search for a missing heir in order to collect a $10,000 reward. During the search, they cross paths with a pair of jewel thieves(reminiscent of To Catch a Thief, another good funny Hitchcock movie), and that's where the fun begins. If you like Hitchcock and funny mysteries in general, then check out this 'gem' that was Sir Hitch's last movie.

Summary: Has done better before.
Review: Of course it is well woven. Of course there are some funny scenes. Of course the plot is simple and the qui pro quo is clear, for us. But the motivations are not very clear, and are not at all explored, be they those of the old rich lady, or those of the illegitimate son, or those of the would-be private eyes. So it is an easy entertaining film to watch, but neither frightening, nor hilarious, nor deeply disturbing, nor overpsychological. It is not one of Hitchcock's best films even if we have to reckon that the work is very clean and very professional and that the English is proper and in no way colloquial. It has all the qualities of a Hitchcock film but one : the soul-raking intricacy and depth, and the implacable logic of motivation and suspense : everything seems to be gratuitous and we know from the very start what is to happen in every single next scene. Just two pleasant odd hours.
