Summary: Interesting.
Review: I watched this movie, and I still don't know if I liked it. It was very real, and I guess that was good if you like that. Putting the body in the wood chipper was a bit extreme, however it added to the story, it made it go from typical movie violence to absolute realism. William H. Macy did a superb job of acting as did Francis Mcdormand. Do not believe what the critics tell you:"A funny movie" it is not funny. It is about two people who are hired to kidnap someones wife. They do, and then flee that town. On the way, they brutally murder anyone who interferes with there plan.

Summary: NEVER LEAVES MY VCR
Review: One of the best movies of the 1990's. If you didn't like it, you probably didn't get it. Francis McDormand's Marge Gunderson is my favourite female character of all time....William Macy's Jerry Lundegaard is creepy, but excellent all the same. Steve Buscemi is always stellar.

Summary: Good Acting and Good Story
Review: This is a very sad movie. Virtually every character (except McDormand's) is portrayed as terminally pathetic. Each character is propelled past their competency when their perceptions of the pop behavioral roles they have self-adopted collide head-on with the reality of their own limitations.

All of the acting is delightful. Some of the humorous scenes are just a hoot! McDormand's interview with the two incidental prostitutes is brilliant screenwriting. This more-or-less mundane story is propelled to greatness by good screenwriting, good acting and good cinematography.

Summary: Artsy-fartsy? Please. This is Americana.
Review: I beg to differ with the viewer from Utah below, but this movie will probably go down as one of the greatest American films of the decade, if not all time. Art is not about entertaining, though we usually hope that it is. It's about enlightenment and attempting understanding. This film brilliantly sheds light on what happens when the American Dream goes terribly wrong. One man's dream of making his mark combines with his innate stupidity and fear to produce fatal results for everyone in his life. Dark and laden with symbolism, this film raises more questions than it answers, and that is what art does, or should do. If this film makes you angry or uncomfortable, good. That means it's working.

Summary: Realism, if you want it.
Review: Once again we have a degraded piece of crap so unredeemingly sick and twisted that the human thing to do is to try to invent a 'reason' for it. This movie depicts a bunch of criminals who botch a kidnapping scheme and then try to cover it up in the dumbest way possible. Yes, the actors are good at their roles. But, so what?

Artsy fartsy types make a living pretending that crap is art and Fargo is no exception. 20 years from now people will still be watching 'Seven Samurai' and 'Rear Window' and no one will even remember garbage like 'Fargo' and 'Natural Born Killers' except to wonder, "What were they thinking?."

Fargo does have one redeeming value though. Hollywood almost always depicts criminals as people with intelligence gone bad. In real life criminals are every bit as stupid as the ones in Fargo. I recommend Fargo to anyone who wants to learn what real criminals are like. Fargo has the reality... not 'The Godfather'.

Summary: A classic movie, that's not old
Review: This movie was great, it mocked northern talk, put comedy and violence in one, and had a lot of violence, i like violent movies, they make me laugh, and this movie did both, 5 stars!

Summary: Everything PULP FICTION isn't.
Review: FARGO succeeds much more at being darkly comic than PULP FICTION. It's a complicated comedy of errors, a suspense movie, a thriller, a drama, everything. Nothing is lacking in this movie, and it's not overlong, either, clocking in at about 97 minutes. Fun, funny, and a satisfying movie experience overall.

Summary: A crime classic
Review: There are certain writers and directors whom it seems can do no wrong . The Coen brothers Ethan and Joel are enlisted in that catogrie . There marvolous screenplay and great dialogue make this all the more realistic . The characters are fantastic and the performances are eceptional most notibly by Steve Buscemi and William H.Macy who neither won an award . Some of the scenery is beutiful and the film is beutifly shot . It is not without its black humour and wit . The many twists and turns make it all the more enjoyable .

Summary: Good movie. See it.
Review: What is this movie about? Margie's quest for love, sensuality, and passionate meaning in her life. What does the scene with Mike in the restaurant have to do with the rest of the story? It is the pivotal point of the story. All of Margie's prior scenes lead toward it; all her later scenes reflect on it. Why is this movie's genre and style so difficult of define? Because the insane humor, the revolting violence, the numbing mundaneness along the way of Margie's journey are the common background of all our lives, and none of us can explain any of it. Like Margie, we know "there is more to life," but like Margie, we "just don't understand."

Summary: Like the book WHY DO CATS PAINT-what does she mean by that?
Review: This is one of the funniest movies of all time. What is so amazing is that so many people DO NOT GET IT! For a source of endless entertainment, watch the movie, discuss it with your friends, search out all the reviews, read all the Amazon customer comments--and astonish yourself at how variously this movie is/was received! Me? I wanna hang out with the folks who find it excruciatingly hilarious. :->
