Summary: Keep your eye on the FAN BLADES...!
Review: I can't add much to the other reviews...this movie is a classic! What surprised me is that no one mentioned the fans.....keep your eyes on which DIRECTION the fans are turning when he shows one. This happens A LOT in the movie....you may have wondered 'why all the fans?' The secret is that when the blades spin clockwise, Rourke is "Harry Angel" and when they spin the other way, he is "Johnny Favorite." Try it and see, I could have it reversed, but this is the real deal.

Summary: The Best
Review: This has to be one of the finest movies ever made! Not only does it look fantastic (Alan Parker at his best) but it has the characterisation and story to complement it. The music is suitably atmospheric, and the art direction chlostrophobically creepy (exactly as is imagined in the book). The best British directed film made in America (close competition provided by American Beauty - Sam Mendes) ever! If anybody disagrees - their wrong. No question.

Summary: It will leave you stunned! Rourke and De niro are Brilliant.
Review: Being a huge Fan of the stars Mickey and Robert, I knew I'd enjoy watching this but I enjoyed it for an entirely different reason.. The brilliantly dark script. This film is not very eager to please, it is as if it is purposely trying to weed out it's less interested audience. It has a slow pace, but at the same time it keeps you very interested by making you feel like there is always something around the corner. I has a wonderful ending that you simply can't see coming and (of course) the acting is supurb. P.S. Anyone who doubts Mickey Rourke as an Actor should see this film.

Summary: Skip it.
Review: Skip this horrible piece of dreck. Not scary, just plain stupid. Along with a few other select actors/directors, De Niro is one whose work I never miss because I know that, no matter what dreadful flaws a movie might have, his performance alone will be worth watching.

Unless you're a die-hard Rourke or De Niro fan, then this will be a colossal waste of your time and money. The only reason it even did as well as it did in theatres is because of the De Niro/Rourke name power and the fact that you get to see a naked Cosby kid. Whoopee.

Summary: ZIGGETY BIGGETY BOO!
Review: Alan Parker at his most zapadacious. Bling Blam Mickey Rourke zezzerfozzen! Cinematography to set your grandmother's clock with the silly dragon painting the barn by. Although I don't really like pickles, I loved this movie. Frip.

Summary: Brilliant, underrated thriller
Review: This is probably the most scary movie I have ever seen. The oppressive atmosphere that it creates, and the excellent directing and acting make it without any doubt the best thriller of its kind in more than a decade. Some more recent movies, like The Sixth Sense, owe Angel Heart its use of a masterly final turn into the plot that will keep you glued to your seat. It also has one of the most steamy sex scenes I have ever seen in the movies, and it reportedly costed Lisa Bonet her job with Bill Cosby on his tv series. Incredibly enough, Mickey Rourke delivers a great performance as the antiheroe-detective that is the spiraling center of the action, and Robert the Niro has an intriguing and incredible role. Don't miss it!

Summary: Satan himself...
Review: I really like this dvd. The performances are good and the plot is terrific. This is a first rate descent into hell picture. Also, Satan himself turns in a superb performance in his role as Robert De Niro!

Summary: Classic Parker
Review: I viewed this movie back in the good ole' days of 87'(even when a friend told me the ending before i went to see it!)on the local cinema, and was just totally impressed by it's pure style. Parker knows his stuff and the cast just shine. The ending to this movie will give you at least one sleepless night and then you'll spend the rest of your nights reflecting on the masterpiece Alan Parker managed to pull off! De Niro begged for the part in this film - need we say more? A vastly under-rated movie that needs to be spread to the masses!

Summary: One of Mickey Rourke's BEST!!!!!
Review: This movie is one of my overall best movies to watch! It's a gritty mystery with a touch of evil that will keep you holding on to your pillow. The film gets kind of artsy in some moments, but if you can get pass those-it's a film worth seeing! As I said one of Mickey Rourke's greatest performances!!! As for the scene between Rourke and Lisa Bonet...it is erotic and evil rolled into one. It makes you feel sexy and seductive one second and scared for your soul the next. I highly recommend it!!!!

Summary: Scary as hell.....
Review: This was one great movie, and it was scary as hell. I didnt really understand it the first time, but the premise had me hooked. So, I watched it again, to my fortune and misfortune. Fortunate because I came to understand more of the plot, and unfortunate because I couldnt sleep for 2 days after I saw it. You have to understand I was 11 or so at the time. All I kept seeing when I closed my eyes were the devil's eyes of Robert Deniro and the little kid. Those eyes...
