Summary: Awesome!
Review: The Bone Collector was one of the greatest movies I've seen this year. It's suspenseful and full of action and surprises. The cast was fabulous! Queen Latifah, Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie were awesome. One of Angelina's best movies! Denzel and the rest of the cast made this movie a great movie! Awesome movie, a Must see!

Summary: Not Worth Watching Unless You Feel You Deserve To Suffer
Review: Denzel Washington has that kind of screen appearance that makes me want to smell my own armpit. This movie was really, really, really, really boring. I was so bored that I took a jar of Cheez Whiz and poured it into my belly button and stuck one of those miniature Mexican flags that some restaurants put in their margaritas. Then I declared myself the Emperor of Mount Mexico until the Cheez Whiz started running down my stomach in sort of a lava flow way. This made some of the time pass quicker while watching this dreadful film, but mostly I just wanted to go to a turtle party.

Summary: LAME ( Both Denzel's character & movie ), wait for it on HBO
Review: I saw an Academy Awards screenining tape, the movie is only so-so. Unless you are a huge Denzel fan, wait to watch it on HBO. I wouldn't even waste a Free Rental coupon on it. Wait to watch it on HBO, that is about its worth. The movie drags, its uninspired, its not suspenseful but you can watch it with some, and I mean SOME interest but not much. Save your money and or your time.

Summary: A waste of time and money...
Review: Much as I love the talents of Ms. Jolie, I couldn't bring myself to like this boring and predictable mess. The killer was obvious just from watching the credits (or if you had previously read the book), the camerawork was awful, with too many lingering close-ups and idiotics POV shots that I assume were supposed to make the audience 'relate' to Denzel Washington. The acting was hammy, the characters one-dimensional - especially Amelia and the 'scary' scenes were laughable. I found myself cringing - not due to the 'scary' scenes - but due to the awful acting, bad dialogue and dull set pieces that we have all seen before. Barely watchable.

Summary: Far worse in retrospect
Review: This is not a movie that one should think about after viewing it. In the climax, the murderer comes completely out of left field and has psychotic motives that no sane person could have possibly expected (I heartily disagree with the person who says he knew the killer from the trailer). Being unpredictable is not always good.

But despite all this, this movie has a (albeit unintentionally) hilarious climatic sequence and enough artificial tension to make it somewhat enjoyable on the first go around.

Summary: Washington and Jolie Shine!
Review: When I first heard about The Bone Collector I thought it was a movie I had to see. I want to be a forensic psychologist and this movie kept me really entertained. Denzel Washington's performance was amazing. For a person who could only move his head he portrayed such emotions and character. Angelina Jolie was brilliant as always and the combination of the two of them was spectacular. Loved the movie and the story kept me at the edge of my seat.

Summary: A class mystery thriller
Review: If you like films like kiss the girls, copycat and silence of the lambs you will like this movie. The basic plot, Denzel plays a paralysed expert in police forensics who was injured in the line of duty. He is asked by his old colleague Ed o'neil to work on a new serial killer case and he accepts but requires that a young rookie cop help with the forensics, they then form a terrific partnership trying to solve the case by Denzel teaching his gained knowldege to his young apprentice. The acting is good along with an excellent storyline. The DVD has a few special features with the usual DVD superb picture and sound quality. Well worth the price.

Summary: A real knee slapper...
Review: This has to be one of the most unintentionally funny movies I've seen. I was reminded of the 60's Batman TV series throughout, it was that kind of comedy. The outlandish situations combined with the overly deliberate use of police slang was a hoot. It is the only movie I can think of where nearly everyone in the theater busted out laughing during the 'tense and dramatic' climactic scene. Think 'Head Detective' with an index finger! I can't wait till this movie is out on video, so I can watch it again and again. If you're a fan if 'serious' movies gone horribly (and hilariously) awry, I can't recommend this movie enough!

Summary: Implausible and ridiculous; could've been a comedy
Review: I was never frightened during this movie. The script was so ridiculous I actually laughed several times. The lead cops are Al Bundy and a pretty female model. That alone destroys most of the film's credibility, but there's more:

Denzel Washington's character is supposed to be the brains of the unit, but it gets carried away when he starts playing Sherlock Holmes with the apparent intelligence of Einstein and the last ten Nobel prize winners combined. Instantly recognizing things like turn-of-the-century plumbing, he is able to point directly to where the killer will strike next. At one point, he discovers traces of cattle hair on a piece of evidence - and directs the cops to a slaughterhouse in lower Manhattan - where of course, the killer has just struck and vacated the scene.

The romance between Washington and Jolie is contrived and tasteless. And the ending is ridiculous: the killer comes out of left field with no tie-in to the rest of the movie. You're left wondering: I just spent two hours enduring this Keystone Kops comedy for THAT?

Clearly, Denzel Washington was just killing time before "The Hurricane" when he agreed to act in this turkey.
