Summary: the ring
Review: The little girls mom couldn't have a kid, so she sold her soul to satan. satan then took over the little girl, made her some kind of demon, and made her and everyone else go crazy, just like the horses, simply from sheer evil. The video was recorded over the well so the little girl's point of view of things got put on to the tape. This was actually a ploy. A smart person was SUPPOSED to find the tape, the time limit was to get them into finding out what it was all about, and it gave just enough clues to find out the story in time; only they didn't tell the whole thing because no one would really talk about it. So that's why it actually seems like a ploy to lure someone in so they could find her and free her, so she could more readily kill. Of course to solve the mystery of the video (in the movie) you'd need a creepy little psychic boy.

Summary: Horrific Masterpiece
Review: This was a pleasant surprise....I mean this movie was the best horror I've seen in years, maybe ever. The best part...will shock the crap out of you...I was really surprised...BRILLIANT DIRECTORS & PRODUCERS! It does leave you with several q's...but it's so good you don't really care! I don't think it would have been as brilliant a movie without the holes. It just all added up to a 5 star horror.

Summary: The Ring Review
Review: Unexpecting is what I'd like to call the suspenseful and yet on egde thriller. The movie itself gives you a fear and gothic effect to everything the audience sees and hears. The leading lady in this film, wasn't only pretty, but she also full-filled the part of Rachel in all aspects the character needed to be. If your looking for a thriller, this is deffinately the movie to see. It still leaves creepy images in the back of my mind!

Summary: Definately a Great Horror Movie
Review: This movie finally brings back my early memories of "The Exorcist", "Poltergeist", and other such "classic" horror flicks. Much like the movies I mentioned before these types of horror's take time to build the mystery and suspense that marks a true horror film. Many of today's horror films are using the "scare" tactic, which can only take an audience so far for so long. This is the type of movie that sticks with you, on those long evenings ;) I wish Hollywood would bring us more chills such as this piece. I do regret however that I cannot give it 5 stars, though my praise thus far is excellent, and I may sound a bit "Traditional", nonetheless when I went to see the film I was shocked at the MPAA rating put on it. PG-13? After watching the film, it was quite obvious this should NOT BE for 13-year olds. Now I know in today's age I sound like an old fart saying that, however some movies warrant it and some do not. Though this film touches on teen subjects at times it is more geared towards an older audience. So due to the MPAA rating, I must give it 4 stars. But beware this movie is not for the faint of heart, Enjoy!

Summary: I Came Out Of There Asking 1,000,000 Questions
Review: How was the videotape created? Why did it leave it like that? What's going to happen to Rachel and her little boy? Why is the little boy still alive? Although you could probably find these answers somehow, and I further read that Satan had created the videotape, older thrillers like "The Exorcist" are still better in my opinion. "Signs" was good this year, and seriously, besides asking all those questions, the movie wasn't so bad. With plenty of startling moments, and some for the weak to scream, and lots of suspense, it's worth your money - but nothing more.

Summary: Dismiss the critics...see The Ring for yourself
Review: Seven days. That's all you have left to live once you witness the horrific videotape that is the premise of the neo-noir classic "The Ring." Fans of such creepfests as "The Blair Witch Project," "The Exorcist," "Rosemary's Baby" and "The Omen" will absolutely love this film. I have to admit that the film's first ten minutes are quite possibly some of the scariest scenes that have ever been captured on film. I was glued to my seat during the opening sequence...and even turned my eyes from the screen as the young girl crept upstairs. Do you believe that? It was so damned intense that I had to literally turn away from the screen for a minute! I am a dork. Naomi Watts is just amazing in the role of Rachel...she's a hottie and she can't act too! Her eyes are what I felt carried the movie. Seriously, the look in her eyes were far creepier than anything else going on, and enough to convince you that she truly was terrified. The film drags a little towards the end, but picks up and leaves with a fantastic ending. The film is rated PG-13, but that does not mean that it is suitable for teens to view. The film is filled with disturbing imagery (such as the horse scene on the ferry) and ghastly images. A sleek and well made thriller that gave me more than my monies worth. Don't listen to the critics....this one is truly a spooky spectacle that fans of the horror genre should appreciate. Thanks to Hollywood for making yet another movie that won't make my nights any easier!!!! See it for yourself, but be forewarned....seven days is all you have.

Summary: A Horrible Remake
Review: The first few minutes of this movie was very similar to that of the original Japanese version and I was expecting it to follow similarly; however, it didn't and it even failed in many aspects of what makes Ring a great horror movie.

The remake follows bad guidelines especially when it came to symptoms of the effects of the ring, once a curse is lifted the person in this movie is still suffering the effects. This is very misleading. Not only so, the disturbing death images are not necessary. The original Japanese version is far superior in regards on how greatly they used the eerie music along with images that are fitting and lets your imagination follow through. The death images are more realistic in terms of following the curse effects.

There is a good thing about the movie and that was actually explaining the time frame of death which the original Japanese version didn't.

I recommend watching the original Japanese versions first Ring1, Ring2, and Ring0. Also this Hollywood remake tied in parts of Ring2 into Ring1 and twisted the entire original explanation of the curse including who the perpetrator was, symptoms, etc. This remake also doesn't make full use of the eerie music that the original had. I noticed that it tried to imitate that sound effect but failed miserably. I figured with the Hollywood technology that they could've done a much better job with the eerie sound effects.

The original is much better and if I were rating on the original I would have given it 5 stars but this horrible remake only gets 3 stars in my book.
