Summary: REAR WINDOW being restored
Review: The reason "REAR WINDOW" isn't available on video/DVD/laser is because it is being restored by the team who restored "My Fair Lady," "Lawrence of Arabia," and others. The new print should out either in the Fall of 1999 or early 2000. Therefore, MCA probably doesn't want to repress the old version but no doubt will do the restored one.

Summary: Simply the best of all Hitchcock
Review: I have at least 25 Hitchcock films in my video library and this is the best. Grace was the epitome of the Hitchcock woman. He worked hard at finding someone to replace her with Kim Novak in Vertigo, for example, or Tippy in Marnie and the Birds, but he could never get it. Hitchcock's love of filming Grace is readily apparent in this film where each scene she appears in is crafted to make her look ravishing (which would not be that hard after all). Stewart turns in perhaps his best Hitchcock performance (Vertigo would be up there too), and the supporting cast is the best of Hitchcock supporting casts. The filming in the constraints of Stewart's rear window only adds to the overall strength of this movie. Amazing that so many scenes could be filmed in this restrictive manner yet not be distracting.

Summary: Hithcock's best film
Review: Jimmy Stewart has never been better (with that whiney voice of his. Bleh!) and Hitchcock has done it once more. This movie is filmed entirely in a single room (except until--wait, I'm not supposed to tell you). Very suspensful and dramatic. A photographer with a broken leg who watches people across the street because he has nothing else to do thinks he's witnessed a murder. Brilliant!

Summary: Awesome! Great Suspense! Superb acting by all!!!!
Review: I have seen this movie several times and each time it gets even better. Why oh Why is it unavailable? I can see so reason for this? I have tried several sources and to no avail, have I been sucessful in obtaining this wonderful feature by Alfred Hitchcock. I love the relationship between Jimmy Stewart and his detective friend, Wendell Corey. Thelma Ritter is funny and yet her wit and humor gives this story a class of its own. And, to speak of class, Grace Kelly spells it without the alphabet. There are enough of us out here who wish to own this spectacular version of this classic movie. No one can ever top it! Is there anyone who can help obtain this movie? Does anyone have any contact information? I sure hope so. Let's band together and help get this movie available again. God Bless all of you and your families and loved ones.

Summary: jimmy stewart & grace kelly at their best
Review: No actor could pull off this role better than Stewart. With a supporting co-star such as Kelly how could their be anything but intrigue, drama, and spine tingling thrills? I've seen this movie it seems, like a million times, and each time it seems to be just as exciting as the first!!! I've recently tried renting it at my local video stores, but all copies have been damaged due to continuous viewing. I've also tried ordering it wherever I could find a movie store, but have been unsuccessful. I WANT THIS MOVIE!!! :) Please rerelease it soon. (plus I'm a huge Stewart fan)

Summary: Best film ever - so whys it not on release?!!!
Review: Our media teacher was raving about this movie two years ago and ever since I've been waiting in vain for it to come out on video but still no luck. After two years of waiting it was finally shown on TV over here in England - it was worth the wait. Until now Psycho was my favourite Hitchcock movie - but this is even better! I taped the film and have since seen it about ten times. The actings great - Thelma Ritter's blunt humour just adds even more. And its not like its just one story about a man who murders his wife - theres Miss Lonely Hearts - will she ever find happiness? The newly weds with the closed blinds - how long can they hold it up? And for a large part of the film WE are James Stewart - watching the movie. This is my all time favourite movie!

Summary: Absolute Excellence!
Review: I am a huge Hitchcock fan, I have been building my video collection of his movies for some time now, but Rear Window would be the most prized.

I love looking for Hitch in his movies and get a kick out of seeing him in one of the apartments in this movie...did anyone else see him right off, it took me a couple of viewings before I spotted him. This one is the greatest!
