Review: IN THE 70'S THE STORY WAS THAT DAVID RUFFIN AND TAMMI TERRELL WERE FIGHTING, THEN DAVID HIT HER IN THE HEAD WITH A HAMMER. ONE YEAR LATER, SHE DIED OF A BRAIN TUMOR. I WAS HOPING THAT IS MOVIE WOULD VERIFIED THIS. I GUESS THE FAMILY OF DAVID RUFFIN WOULD LEGALLY BE AGAINST THE TRUTH BEING TOLD. OVERALL THE MOVIE WAS GREAT!!!!

Summary: A great film about one of the greatest musical groups ever.
Review: This was a great film with a great inside look into the band. From the conflicts to the triumphs, this film kept you interested the whole time. And it was nice to get Otis Williams perspective on the band. That's probably what I enjoyed the most. All-in-all this was a great film that I would recommend everyone seeing.

Summary: Unbelievable...
Review: As a huge fan of the Temptations, I must say that this film is simply unbelievable. The actors do incredible jobs (especially Leon) and there is an incredible realness in everything they do. However, I must be alerting in that the new video of the film just released actually cuts out some scenes that were originally in the NBC television version...The reason for this, I believe, is that the family of the late David Ruffin filed a lawsuit to have certain scenes depicting their loved one on an "unrealistic" basis cut out of the film. They felt that these certain scenes (the most notable being a "Motown picnic" park scene in which Ruffin begins to verbally abuse Tammi Tyrell) portrayed David incorrectly. Even with certain scenes removed...this film is still incredible in its accuracy and credibility.

Summary: One of the best "tell-all's" since "What's love.."
Review: I am a huge fan of the Mowtown sound. This was another look at one of my favorite groups from that era. This movie is truly one to add to the collection. I wouldn't be surprised if we see another "behind the Motown" movie with some of the other artists. I'm looking forward to it.

Summary: What a Great Movie!
Review: I am so glad this movie was released on video because I was dumb enough to forget to tape it! Don't let the fact that it was made for tv affect you, because it is better than 99% of what is released in the theatres. This was a truly moving and touching experience - I felt as though I was there with the group during their highs and lows. Leon did an especially compelling performance as David Ruffin- the scene in which he is told he's no longer part of the group was indeed powerful. Very well done on all sides!

Review: I have always loved Motown from day one and I happened to run into this movie almost by accident, and I didn't stop watching it. I cannot mention how much I enjoyed this film. Yes,I read Otis Williams book,as well as the other Motown alumni's books, and I am impressed with the fact that a brother could start a business for little, and started a whole musical odyssey. Get the video, folks.

Review: Many times, we wonder what goes on behind the scenes of a group. This story examines just that. It was a touching story of the ups and downs of a popular group. I'm also glad I found it at a good price.
