Summary: Worth it for Jennifer Holliday
Review: To be honest the only reason I bought this DVD was for Jennifer Holliday and I was not disapointed, what a voice, what a performence a well deserved standing ovation. I would have given anything to have been in the audience. Having watched the whole show (I've never heard of some of the ladies here in the U.K.) I was amazed at the other perfomances, the highlights being Linda Eder, Andrea McArdle and the Andrew Lloyd Webber Love Trio (Audra McDonald,Marin Mazzie & Judy Kuhn), it's worth watching for these perfomances as well, and I love Debra Monk singing 'Everybody's Girl' (love the lyrics) it makes me smile everytime I hear/see it. As to Elaine Stritch, on the CD it doesn't come across well but when you watch her you see the enjoyment she has and that lifts it and makes it more enjoyable. The only dissapointment : that was that Jennifer Holliday didn't sing anything else she should have been on longer.

Summary: HOLY LINDA EDER BATMAN!!!
Review: Well, I bought this DVD quite a while ago because I had found the joy that IS Linda Eder and wanted to catch her live. That is BY FAR the highlight for me of this DVD. Singing Man of La Mancha's theme-written for a man-but totally over the top fabulous by Linda will make you want to sell your soul for her vocal range!

Debra Monk's version of Everybody's Girl actually got me to go out and purchase Steel Peer, though I wasn't overly impressed with the full musical. Her performance is so animated it makes you want to see it live though!

Coming in as a close second to Linda's faboo belting is "Life Upon the Wicked Stage" mixing in one of the best child performers I've seen with the Kit Kat Girls from Cabaret and the whole thing is just TOO CUTE!!! Very impressed by the young lady and hope that I have a kid that's HALF that talented!!! lol

There were several very blah performances, but luckily, DVD allows you just select your favorite scene anyway! Though I usually love her, Audra's rendition of an Andrew Lloydd Overdone classic is totally lack luster and really made me wish for a good ole' "Daddy's Son" or at least a little Porgy and Bess!!!

Because of the several so-so performances and/or poor choices of songs, I only gave it 3 stars. However, it's definately worth getting if you're a broadway fan!

Summary: Superb!
Review: What a great concept! And such a great line-up, despite some notable omissions. Highlights include Debra Monk's hilarious turn at the mike singing "Everybody's Girl", and Nell Carter singing "Mean To Me" from "Ain't Misbehavin'". Matter of fact, they're all great! Jennifer Holiday brings down the house with her signature tune from "Dreamgirls", and Linda Eder tackles the difficult title song from "Man Of LaMancha." This is a real treat for Broadway fans!

Review: What a show, I loved the late Neal Carter set and I must sat Jennifer Holiday made the show go over the top.
