Summary: All Time Favorite
Review: This was one of my favorite movies as a teenager in the 80s. Must have watched it 100 times. Beatles fan will love it as well as Bee Gees and Frampton fans. Great for a little diversion and some light entertainment. Slightly dated now though.

Summary: Weak story, but well-done renditions of great music catalogu
Review: Although the film itself proved to be the swan song for the RSO empire, and a huge blow to the careers of Peter Frampton and the Bee Gees, SPLHCB does offer a really good soundtrack. In addition to the mega-hits "Come Together" by Aerosmith, and "Got To Get You Into My Life" by Earth Wind & Fire, remember that this soundtrack also features Billy Preston boogie through his own remake of "Get Back", Robin Gibb's radio hit of "Oh Darlin'", and Frampton's poignant "Golden

Slumbers". When it comes to assessing Beatles cover albums of the 70s, this film's soundtrack blows All This And World War Too completely off the map. As for the film's premise, acting, and direction, it's best viewed as a Lennon-McCartney revue, rather than a through-composed screenplay. Only then, in a camp atmosphere, can it be viewed "seriously".

Summary: Good movie with a lot of name stars
Review: the story line was somewhat erratic but the music and the stars that were in it were extraordinary.

Summary: Gotta Love This Movie!
Review: I absolutely adore this movie! I have been a fan since I was a kid, and I will never stop watching this movie. Peter Frampton is great in his role of Billy Shears! The BeeGee's did an outstanding job singing the Beatles songs, and they looked "campy" in their shiny outfits. Sandy Farina was a beautiful woman in love with Billy, and she grabbed your attention right away. Aerosmith, I thought, was totally amazing! The way they sing "Come Together" takes my breath away. Steve Martin did a timeless rendition of "Maxwells Silver Hammer" which I would never forget. It is my feelings that this movie should be part of pop culture history and make us rememeber why we loved the 70's! A must see!

Summary: The Silliest movie of all time! the best!
Review: I saw this movie when I was about seven years old, when it was played on tv. I've always loved it, and watch it again and again. I love the beatles, the bee gees, peter frampton, aerosmith, and everyone else that was it it! I'm also glad that its carried here, because my copy is just about worn out! I think that if they all came to this site, and read all of the reviews, they'd know that it wasn't a flop, they have major fans all over!

Summary: Loooove this movie!
Review: Why do so many people hate this movie? I thought it was great. My kids and my neice are hooked, and have become huge Frampton fans because of it. No one was trying to replace the beatles. It was just a bunch of people having fun. (You could tell they were having a blast, especially the Bee Gees.) If you expect something deep and meaningful, don't watch. If you want to watch something fun and crazy and silly, this is for you!

Summary: Still Love This One!
Review: When this movie first came out I was a young teenager and a huge fan of: the Bee Gees, Peter Frampton, Earth Wind & Fire, Aerosmith and Steve Martin. I used my allowance to see this movie over and over - I couldn't get enough of it. The story was corny, but the musical performances were fantastic! It was so cool to see my favorites all in the same movie!
I was never really a fan of the Beatles. I didn't like their sound and didn't appreciate their music. This movie was my first real exposure to Beatle's music. I later learned that all the songs in the movie were actually remakes. When I finally heard the Beatles' original versions of these songs, I realized that I actually liked the versions in this movie much better than the originals by the Fab Four!
Once in a while I'll hear Aerosmith's "Come Together" or Earth, Wind & Fire's "Gotta Get You Into My Life" on the radio and I love it, because those versions came from this movie!

Summary: Good
Review: Admittedly, I only watched this movie because I am a huge Earth, Wind, and Fire fan and a hopeless 1976-born child of the best decade ever. However, I enjoyed this movie on many levels. It was kind of cute and quirky, and should be recognized as a great film--if only at "cult" status!

Summary: Good old-fashioned melodrama made modern
Review: I love this movie. There's nothing I like better than an old-fashioned melodrama and this is a good one with good music, good people and good ideals. Frankly, I think the concept of a weathervane that always points the way to happiness is something that should be incorporated into everyday living. I've had this out of the library several times now and am now going to buy my own copy. Major boos and hisses to any critics!

Summary: TOO CUTE
Review: I think that this movie is SO CUTE! I'm 14 & when I started to get into the Beatles (I'm a die hard Beatles fan) my mom said that there was a movie that her & her friends used to love & it was called "Sgt Peppers..." & so I watched it with a friend (also a Beatles fan) & we LOVE that movie. I didn't know who Peter Frampton or the Bee Gees were before this movie, & I also don't understand why so many people hate this movie, but I think it's great & fun.
