Summary: BAD AND CHEESY....
Review: I agree with everyone, this stinks. But it's got John Travolta, and I swear, I can look at him chewing gum for hours and not get bored.

The only good part of this movie... when Tony scores his first Broadway triumph and says to his girlfriend, "you know what I wanna do? I wanna strut!" He then goes out the side theatre door, music of staylin alive by the bee gees plays and walks out on Times Square. It's same vision we saw six years earlier...Tony walking like he owned the world (via SNF). It's so NY! He's the boy from Brooklyn, who made it.

This is the ONLY good scene in the movie. Trust me.

Summary: Nice like something you everyday like having breakfast!!
Review: I don't care what anyone says about this film. I LOVE it. It's funny, well-paced, and never boring. OK, the storyline is kind of corney and weird, but nonetheless it still entertains me. I just wish the DVD had a commentary or something and maybe some bloopers and interviews (hint hint to Stallone)...

Summary: DYNAMIC - RAW AND REAL - AMAZING - FABULOUS
Review: I FAIL TO UNDERSTAND WHY SO MANY PEOPLE SLATE THIS MOVIE. YES THE SCRIPT IS NOT WRITTEN IN A WAY TO REFLECT AN INTELLECTUAL PLOT OR A LITERAL MASTERPIECE, THE JOURNEY OF THE CHARACTER PLAYED BY JOHN TRAVOLTA IS ONLY SKIN DEEP - BUT HOW MUCH CAN YOU GO IN UNDER 2 HOURS OF A MOVIE.

I WORK AS A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR / DANCER HAVING QUALIFIED FROM ONE OF THE TOP ACADEMY IN THE WORLD ,AND MET HAVE WORKED WITH SLY - AND NO OTHER FILM MAKER CAN GIVE AN AUDIENCE AN ADRENALIN RUSH LIKE THE WAY HE CAN. STAYING ALIVE - HAS ADRENALIN - GREAT SOUNDTRACK BY ONE OF THE BEST SONGWRITERS IN THE WORLD TODAY - THE BEE GEES - THIS FILM INSPIRED ME THROUGHOUT MY TIME AT DRAMA SCHOOL - IT STILL INSPIRES - ITS HONEST - AND REAL IN OBSERVING THE MECHANISM ONE GOES THROUGH TO SUCCEED - YES IT SPEEDS IT UP A BIT - BUT ITS A FILM FOR GOD SAKE - ITS ESCAPISM - THE IDEOLOGY OF A GUY WANTING TO BE IN A BROADWAY SHOW AND HOW HE GETS THERE IS FULL OF CONVICTION FOR ME - TRAVOLTA IS GREAT - EXCELLENT ACTOR - COMPETANT DANCER - CYNTHIA RHODES IS SENSATIONAL - GET THIS MOVIE ONTO DVD QUICK - ITS SIMPLY THE BEST FOR ANY ASPIRING DANCER AND ACTOR TO DRAW INSPIRATION FROM . HONEST - EXPERIENCE IT!!

Summary: Travolta Memories
Review: I first saw this film when it was first released in England. I know the story line is non-existent and tacky, but the dancing was so amazing - JT at his best - and Cynthia Rhodes (who I had not seen before) was so lovely (good voice, great dancer) that it more than made up for it. My daughter recently saw a re-run of Grease but doesn't think that JT can dance!!! This video will certainly change her mind. Excellent for all John Travolta fans who want a bit of fun without having to think too hard.

Summary: GOTTA SEE THIS
Review: I heartily recommend this turkey to anyone who is looking for a really good laugh -- or ten thousand of them. The script, acting, musical numbers, concept, etc. etc. etc. are so bottom-rate you find yourself trying to breathe through your guffaws. Sylvester Stallone must have thought he had a no-brainer hit here; just goes to show you it take more than a good original source to create something of quality -- though this movie does feature an excellent performance by Cynthia Rhodes, who manages to be nearly moving in a movie that has no heart, and is perhaps the only legitimate dancer and singer in a movie about singers/dancers. The finale, a Broadway musical called SATAN'S ALLEY, is one of those perfectly terrible depictions of Broadway=esque stuff in the movies, and is incoherent -- what EXACTLY is it about? Enjoy the madness.

Summary: So Sue me...I Loved it
Review: I know this movie is reviewed as horrible, laughable, etc., (many said the same thing about Flashdance); but I think the reason for the critics' dumping this is they refuse Stallone an inch in this genre. I thought for great dance (superior to Sat Nite Fever), a movie about street fortitude and nerve, sex and infactuation, loyalty and courage, all wrapped up in a Broadway Dance situation; what other movie comes close? I wish it would come out on DVD, because VHS just doesn't do it justice - as it would benefit from a large screen/Home Theatre viewing.

Summary: WAY TO GO MANERO!!
Review: I love 'Staying Alive', it's one of my all time favourite movies and John Travolta films. I love the direction Sylvester Stallone took it in. The music is exciting, the actors were great in their parts, and the dancing was filled with energy. And I'm so excited that it's been released onto DVD.

Summary: Love it
Review: I love this movie, I have seen it about 50 times. I think it's better than Saturday Night Fever. You can't go wrong with John Travolta!

Summary: This movie is the best in terms of appearance
Review: I really like the way of his dancing and looks.
It's very difficult that Travolta who was Staing Alive era
is the same person as cuurent Travolta, because he gained too
much. He looks like a sumo_wrestler now.
When I first saw General Daughter,I saw the film just I saw Staing Alive,I seriously got disaapointed.
How could he gained so much?I wish he did phisical trainning
to get back the attractive appearance,it will be impossibel at
his cuurent age.

In terms of story line and the character of Tony Manero,it was a flop, because they give a examples of sexism.
I really hate a mulutidate_ism,even though it is a common in show business industry.
In this movie, Tony commited to one person in the end.
However,an adeal, meanning a film,is compleatly different from
a reality.

Summary: staying alive
Review: i saw staying alive when it first came out, as a dancer myself i thought that john was awful, cythia rhodes was great and gorgeous may i add. the weird thing about this movie was when john left fiona's party to meet c.rhodes at the bar. what she said to john seemed to be talking to me. it was exactly what my girlfriend had said. it was like i was in the movie that's why i liked this movie. it reflcted my own life.
