Review: The movie Selena is not meant to be a biographical movie. Selena, portrayed by Jennifer Lopez, is a young Latina woman trying to make it in the music business. While in the process of becoming the number one Latina-singer in America she falls in love and gets married. Selena's story is rather tragic because at her prime she gets killed. If you want to see a well-written movie with outstanding actors then this is the one for you!

Summary: More Tribute Than Biopic
Review: Jennifer Lopez does a great job of portraying the lovely Selena, even though the only resemblance that Jennifer and Selena have is due to race, not feature. However, this movie isn't about Selena-the-human-being or even Selena-the-star. This the sanitized, Disney view of the life of a young, fast-rising star whose life was cut short in her prime. Now, I'm not saying that this is a rotten movie at all. It's actually a good movie. It's well written, well-acted, and you can't tell that Ms. Lopez is lip-synching. However, you're not going to get a clear picture of Selena-the-person from this movie. I love Selena as much as the next Selena fan, but I would have liked to see a movie named Selena that's actually about Selena, not just what her dad thinks is appropriate. Playing down her murder was not good, because how is someone going to get a clear picture of the mourning that went on all over the United States when they don't see all the things that came out after? How does one get a picture of Yolanda the Fruitcake if they don't see how fruity the woman is? We know what we lost. It would be nice if this movie at least showed us the why. Selena's memory would not have been damaged if this had been in the movie. Like I said, I like this movie as just a movie, but as a biography it falls short.

Review: The re-creation of the life of the queen of tejano was incredible in this masterpiece. The story was incredible.

Jennifer Lopez lit the screen with her incredible Selena-like body and smile, making you feel like Selena is alive once again. Her relationship with Mother,Father,Sister,Brother and Husband were shown in great detail.

Never before have I seen such a great depiction of a Latin star.

Summary: IF YOU GET A CHANCE TO SEE THIS MOVIE- DON'T
Review: The acting was excellent, Olmos was not nearly as fat as the real Abraham Quintanilla, and the woman who played the murderer was much fatter than the real life killer. It was more like a made-for-T.V. movie. It was a real blunder to have skipped the scene where Selena got shot. If she hadn't gotten shot, this movie would never have been made in the first place. And finally, they should not have shown pictures of the real Selena at the end of the biopic. It just makes it obvious that Jennifer Lopez doesn't really look like Selena. Don't watch this movie.

Review: I really liked the movie "Selena". I have seen it a bunch of times. It really shows the life of Selena and how she became a big superstar. Before this movie, I had never heard of Selena before. But now, I like her and I even own the soundtrack because I love her music. My favorite part of the movie is when Selena, her brother, her sister, and the rest of the band takes the bus for a drive and then the bus breaks down. I love it when those two guys try to help them out-they are so funny! I recomend this movie to anyone who likes Selena or just any kind of music and likes dramas.

Review: You know I may only be 14 years old but let me tell you that this is the all time greatest film ever. I cried everytime I watch it. You people need to see it or buy it. Jennifer Lopez does and astonishing performance of the late tejana Selena. So take my advice and see the movie if you like it email me ,if not I'm sorry it took up your time.
