Rating: Summary: The one and only Scrooge for my family Review: I haven't seen the 1950 version of Scrooge, but this version is the only one my family ever watches on Christmas. I absolutely love it. The acting is great and the music incredible. If you haven't seen this version I do recommend it!! You won't be disappointed. Albert Finney is great in it!!
Rating: Summary: The best version of "A Christmas Carol!" Review: This is my all time favorite Christmas movie! I have been watching it every Christmas season since I was a child, and I never tire of it. What was the Amazon reviewer thinking?? I have seen most of the versions of "A Christmas Carol," and while I enjoy all of them, "Scrooge" is the very best as far as I am concerned. Paramount, I want it on DVD!
Rating: Summary: Heartwarming telling of Dicken's classic tale... Review: I remember seeing this film in the movie theater when I was a child, and love it as much now as I did then! It's not Christmas until I've watched "Scrooge" at least once! I know all the songs by heart and find myself singing them all throughout the holiday season.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: This version of "A Christmas Carol" is our all-time favorite. The music is exceptional, the make-up and costumes true to the period, and Albert Finney is the pentultimate Scrooge right down to the dirty fingernails. A holiday tradition to show this for friends and family!
Rating: Summary: Scrooge - Alec Guiness and Albert Finney Review: I really would like to get a DVD version in the near future, is there any plan by the publisher to do so? It is my favorite version of Scrooge, both the acting and the music are wonderful.

Review: As far back as I can remember, my family and I would gather around the tv and enjoy this great movie while munching on christmas cookies and sipping hot chocolate. Now 25 years later I still look foward to watching this movie as much I did back then...To all of you who are thinking about buying this movie...DON'T HESITATE!!buy it now to get it in time for christmas so you and your family can enjoy it as much as I did...you will not be disappointed!!Before I wrap this review up I have to ask...WHEN IS SCROOGE GOING TO BE AVAILABLE ON DVD?????????
Rating: Summary: Wonderful...put on DVD, please! Review: I have enjoyed this movie, along with many of the other versions of Dicken's Christmas Carol, for years. Decades! But, like others, I need this on DVD. I have gone through 3 tapes, already. All the others are on DVD. Amazon.com, please set up a screen for those of us who want this on DVD so we can put our names on the list and send it to Paramount! My husband and I just watched it again this evening, while sipping hot chocolate. Tis the season for DVD's!!
Rating: Summary: Great film, outdated format Review: This film is probably overall the most underrated version of "A Christmas Carol" but paradoxically it has become a Yuletide classic over the last 30 years. Like many others, I cannot understand why this film is not yet available on DVD. There must be some legal entanglement involved. (A new contract has to be negotiated with the copyright holder in order to reissue a music recording or a film in a different format)"Scrooge" gets better with each passing year (I guess that says something about the times) and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys a spirited (pun intended) Christmas treat. Let's hope the Ghost of Christmas Future will gift us with the DVD next year.
Rating: Summary: I want the DVD NOW!!! Review: I have watched this since I was little, and it still makes me cry. I am absolutely shocked and disappointed that this is not available on DVD yet. What's the holdup?
Rating: Summary: I NEVER GET TIRED OF IT Review: I agree with the other reviewers...where's the DVD? I've played this tape year after year every christmas and I never get tired of it...unfortunately it's beginning to wear out and I need another copy! The songs are the kind you keep humming every day during the holidays (although I have a little trouble understanding all the words to "Thank You Very Much") and it's a christmas lover's classic. The choreography is excellently done, especially at the end with the recorder players, and the story itself...well, there's a reason more films have been made out of this classic Dickens tale than any other story...and critically, I'd call this one the best version. Certainly it is on par with anything Disney could come up with, even after 32 years. I'm sure that the only reason there is no DVD yet is one or both reasons: Either there is some legal red tape to get through with copyright laws, or the producers just can't think of any "extras" to put on the DVD...probably because many of the actors are already dead.
