Rating: Summary: This is a MUST "see" for everyone! Review: I grew up watching this exceptional movie. It used to air on TV all the time when I was a kid and now it does not for some unknown and ridiculous reason. I wish it did. A few years ago I introduced this movie to my wife and she LOVED it. This is a movie classic in our house. This version of Scrooge is by far the best ever filmed. The 1935 version or another other version is no comparison to the 1970 (Albert Finney) version. Albert Finney plays the real SCROOGE. Please rent or buy this movie ASAP and you will agree with me that this is the best SCROOGE that you have and will ever see. TRUST ME!!! To Albert Finney, "Thank you very much, thank you very much....". Watch the movie and see what I mean by this. GET IT TODAY!

Rating: Summary: A Great Musical For The WHole Family! Review: SCROOGE (Albert Finney) the musical version of the Broadway stage play written by Leslie Briscuss (Hook, Santa Clause The Movie) is a great adaptation to the classic Charles Dickens story known throughout the world. The songs are memorable and will keep you singing long after you finish the film.Starring Academy Award winner Albert Finney (Erin Brockovich, Traffic) as the lead miserly sole and circumvented by an amazing cast of creepy and heartwarming characters. Bob Marley is brilliantly portrayed by Sir Alec Guiness (Star Wars, A Bridge Too Far). The Ghost Of Christmas Past is played by Edit Evans (The Gambler, A Kiss And A Rose) The Ghost Of Christmas Present is played by Kenneth Moore (The Spaceman and King Arthur, A Tale Of Two Cities ) Bob Crachet is played by David Collings (The Story Of David, Dark Towers) The Nephew is played magically by Michael Medwin (Shoestring, Fanny and Elvis) Thank You Very Much, Father Christmas, and I Hate People are some of my favorite songs on here. But the one that brigs out the spirit of the season is I Like Life! Very well done film and directed by Ronald Neame (Hopscotch, The Poseiden Adventure, Metero) this film is another must in your Holiday movie collection. I wish this was on DVD and had a lot of extras! (12-22-02)
Rating: Summary: Best Scrooge ever Review: I first saw this movie in a theater in which I was working and was mesmerized by the music and the beautiful way in which the picture is constructed. Albert Finney is amazing in this movie--the makeup is great, yes, but he "becomes" Ebenezer Scrooge! The music is some of my favorite Christmas music, and I look forward every Christmas to watching this movie 3-4 times. I was hoping it was out on DVD but apparently it is not. Maybe a write in campaign would help??? I always though Finney should have been nominated for an Academy Award for this movie. All in all, this is one of my all time favorite movies--not just Christmas either!
Rating: Summary: This is a Great Movie Review: i have watched this movie since i was a little girl and have enjoyed watching it. i just wish it was on DVD. i would like to know when the DVD version would be released.
Rating: Summary: "Scrooge" Review: I have read all 130+ reviews of this movie, and 97% give it 5 stars, and I am no exception. Amazon's review is theirs, not the majority. And as to following the book, remember, this movie is "Scrooge", not "A Christmas Carol". It's as well done as any movie can be and will fulfill your holiday's with it's excellence. Albert Finney is excellent in his portrayal of Ebenezer Scrooge, and he gives credence to what I consider the original, Lionel Barrymore who gave us "A Christmas Carol" on four 78 records in the 40's. There are many Christmas stories, and this one rates #1 on my list. Unlike so many movies of today, this one will leave you feeling happy as it ends....
Rating: Summary: Where's the DVD? Review: This is the ultimate "Christmas Carol." It is dramatic and uplifting. The music is first rate. How long to we have to wait for a DVD version?
Rating: Summary: Scrooge Review: This is an exceptional film and deserves much more attention than it has received. This may be touted as a musical but I feel it is the best version of the classic Christmas Carol story. It deserves to be on DVD and I would like to see CBS/Fox Video release it as such.
Rating: Summary: SCROOGE/Albert Finney Review: I think this is the best SCROOGE(A CHRISTMAS CAROL). Why is this not on DVD
Rating: Summary: Scrooge ~ VHS ~ Albert Finney Review: If you like musicals and even if you don't, this is "THE" Scrooge video of all time. My husband does not like musicals, however, Albert Finney plays such a delightful character in the role of Scrooge, that he is absolutely entertained by it. Albert Finney makes Scrooge become the "villain" that you love to hate! It has become a Christmas tradition in our home and now that my children are gone from the nest, they are requesting their own copies for Christmas. Even when I don't have the time to sit down to watch it, the music is so lovely that I sometimes put it on and just listen to it while I wrap gifts or make christmas cookies and it really fills the house with christmas "spirit." (no pun intended) IT'S THE BEST!
