Review: Wow I just found out today that Coal Miner's Daughter is coming out on DVD and I'm so excited and happy about it, I have been waiting a long time for one of my favorites to come out on DVD and now I can finally replace my video with the DVD becasue with DVDs and digital recorders like Tivo I think VHS videos might become obsolete like beta tapes and 8 tracks. Like other reviewers this movie made me a fan of not only Sissy Spacek, Beverly D'Angelo and Tommy Lee Jones but also of Loretta Lynn so I can't wait to get this DVD which I hope will have the option of wide-screen with it's original theatrical aspect ratio besides the popular edited to fit your TV full-screen.

Review: I am not a fan of country music at all, but I have to say that "Coal Miner's Daughter" is one of the most interesting films I have ever seen! "Coal Miner's Daughter" is a film chronicaling the life of country singer, Loretta Lynn. It was amazing to see her rise from a poor girl in Kentucky to one of the most famous country singers in the world!This film is definitely worth watching! Sissy Spacek's and Tommy Lee Jones' performance were fantastic in this film. This is one film that you do not want to miss!

Review: I first saw Coal Miner's Daughter in the movie theater in 1980 when I was about 15 years old and I absolutely loved it, one of the best movies I have ever seen, Sissy Spacek was fantastic as Loretta Lynn, and Tommy Lee Jones who played her husband, and Beverly D'Angelo who played Patsy Cline were fantastic too! The music is wonderful, and has one of the best soundtracks ever made. I have the full frame video and I'm hoping they release the move on DVD in widescreen! Sissy Spacek won an Oscar for her performance and she truly deserved it!

Review: I can't watch this enough. When there is nothing good on t.v I put this in and watch it, as I love Sissy Spacek and Tommy Jones, and they both are outstanding in it. Anyone who likes country, and these people wont be disappointed. Well worth the money

Review: What an insightful movie. I can not say enough about this movie. The portrait of the poor mountain girl with the minor father and the area in which they live. The home environment of music and the love of their parents, who gave everything (which was almost nothing) that they ahve in order to provide for their children. Tommy Lee Jones is very good and Sissy Spacek is fabulous. Their performances were ground breaking and the center point of this movie. Following Loretta Lynn's path to stardom from being married at 14 and being moved across the country to her barnstorming ride from radio station to radio station across the country to work on her career (that she was reluctant to persue in the beginning). This story of Loretta Lynn's rise to stardom is a classic - well worth viewing by people of any age.

Summary: The movie that made me love country music
Review: I was 20 years old and listening heavily Bruce Springsteen and many new wave acts when I saw this movie and I realized I loved country music. I wasn't the same again. Loretta Lynn is still one of my favorite country singers.

Review: This movie was very good, Sissy Spacek was perfect and as far as I'm concerned this is her best movie! I bought this movie on video tape last year and I think it's one of the best purchases I have ever made, I very highly recommend it!
