Summary: One of the MOST ELECTRIFYING movie of LATINO Entertainment
Review: This movie is Great. I used to watch the movie all the time. Watching the movie made me respect and honor the Latino Culture.

Also, Richie Valens became my role model.

It gets me all the time when i watch the part in the movie when Bob, richie's older half brother, Is on the Bridge and then yells his name: "Richie!!!!!!!!!!!"

I also loved the music in it

Buy the movie, trust me, you'll love it.

Summary: Best Movie!!!
Review: This movie was excellent. First, Lou Diamond Phillips is hott. But besides that he's truly a great actor in this movie. The cast is awesome: Esai Morales is by far the best on here. His character Bob is so likeable. Elizabeth Pena is great also. This is a good movie about Mexican influences on American music. Ritchie Valens Siempre.

Summary: One of my favorite movies ever!
Review: Well, this doesn't happen very often with me, but this movie made me cry! Additionally-- and this happens even less frequently-- the movie gets my eyes watering every time I see it! Great music, great story (Richie and Bob's relationship is really the most important one in the film,) and powerful acting, it is one of the few movies that I would recommend everyone seeing. It makes me sad, angry and wistful every time I see it... what was, and what might have been...

Summary: La Bomba
Review: What a movie. It flows well and the caracters have appropriate affect. This is so surreal!! The rivalry, the music, the Latin influence, the racial issue all make this event in time so marked. I don't think it won an Oscar, but it should have. Granted I was 13 years old when this all happened and have a sense of the reality, but wow what a show stopper. Anyway, I still enjoy watching this movie and strongly recommend it to anyone. ENJOY.

Summary: The short but triumphant life of Richie Valens
Review: What makes "La Bamba" special is that it is not just another rags-to-riches standard Hollywood biopic. Yes, there is a Hollywood romantic section, but there is also the elements of racial and class prejudice, along with the dominant theme of the sibling rivalry between Richie Valenzuela (Lou Diamond Phillips) and his brother Bob Morales (Esai Morales). Consequently, "La Bamba" seems a bit more realistic than its obvious counterpart, "The Buddy Holly Story." This becomes clear at the end, when the fateful flip of a coin puts the 17-year old Richie on the doomed airplane. The women in the supporting cast are particularly strong, with Rosanna DeSoto as Connie Valenzuela, Elizabeth Pena as Rosie Morales, and Danielle von Zerneck as Donna Ludwig, the girl immortalized by Richie's other hit song. This film features Marshall Crenshaw as Buddy Holly, Howard Huntsberry as Jackie Wilson and Brian Setzer as Eddie Cochran. The group Los Lobos made its way into popular consciousness doing Richie's music. "La Bamba" is a story that reminds you that sometimes the good die young.

Summary: HONEY! LA BAMBA IS ON!
Review: Yes, I do scream out to my boyfriend the above words whenever I discover La Bamba is on TV. I've seen this move countless times, and I watch it EVERY single time it is on! It never gets boring. Great acting, great music, with a tragic story about a young musician. You'll laugh, you'll cry...you'll watch it again and again! Interesting insight into the music industry as well.

Summary: Great, Just Great!
Review: »La Bamba« has always been one of my favourite films. Maybe it's just the fact that it is so real, based on a true story, on a real person's life... and a real person's tragedy.

The film is a journey through all possible emotions - right from the hope, then the dream that has come true, and to the end of it all. Which is, when one considers it, maybe not purely tragic. 'Cause like the ancient Greeks believed: There is no greater happiness than to die when you are most happy.

It is left unsaid how much of »La Bamba« that is actually not based on real happenings. But the makers of the film have, unlike so many others who base films on 'true' stories, succeeded in eliminating the less-credible details, and they have made everything seem very real and very relevant.

A heartfelt, warm, and cathing film. If you have never seen it, well do so! You are missing a great experience!
