Summary: B-A-D !
Review: I saw this video on Christmas Day, and was looking forward to seeing what all the hubub was about. I had heard that they incorporated contemporary songs into the film but set it in Paris cir.1900 and thought that it might be interesting.
Words cannont express how bad this film is. Yes, the costumes were pretty, and the cinamatography was inventive; but there's no way it could make up for the lame plot and dreadful dialogue. I kept having this image in my mind that when the writers couldn't think of anything for the characters to say, they just turned on the radio for "inspiration".
I don't think we even got through the first half before we all were so confused, but none of us wanted to suffer again through the scenes we had already scene. It's too bad to, Nicole & Ewan are very talented.
Long story short - don't waste your time.

Summary: the loudness
Review: My first impression for the openings were positive, I thought i am watching a movie that is different from all the others, but 20minutes into the movie, the loudness and the crappiness of the music kick in, the feast just wouldn't stop. After finished the movie, i realized the importance of every detail the director tried to do, in that the loudness flamboyancy were a added as a contrast. I was amazed that I was so moved by this un real story, or surreal tale rather. There's a mystical myst that i cannot explain. If you are in doubt, it never hurts to rent the movie first and think a bit before you buy it. enjoy

Summary: Musically, breathtaking, romanticly, WONDERFUL!
Review: After watching this DVD at least 10 times (and still counting), I just don't seem to tire of the music. I think you either love the whole thing, or you don't. But I feel sorry for those who don't. I think the singers are wonderful. The fact that Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor do their own singing is outstanding. I know the story is simplistic, but most love stories are, and even so, I wanted it to go on and on.

Summary: I Gave This Movie 1 Star because There was Nothing Lower!!!
Review: This movie is horrible. If you like a chaotic mess of unimaginative song, choppy story lines and you just really need to waste 3 hours, then I urge you to run, not walk, and get this DVD. I watched the entire thing just to be if it could possibly get any worse, and it did! I don't know what everyone was fussing about, this movie is just plain horrible and in my opinion, the worse movie I've seen in about 10 years!

Summary: Moulin Rouge
Review: Original, vibrant, zesty, ... timeless, extraordinary are but a few adjectives to describe Baz Lurhman's film.

Moulin Rouge transcends anykind of movie experience you may have had before. Right from the start, it throws you into a warped, psychedelic reality of Go-Go Girls and Edwardian tweed. It zips along at a pace that makes MTV feel like slow motion. On top of all the surreal goings on, there is a beautifully constructed (albeit simple) story on which to hang the clothes. Throw in some very original takes on modern music classics, and you have the time of your life.

On top of all this perfection, are the charimatic performances of the lead actors: Kidman radiates and McGregor charms. The show is stolen by a wonderfully seedy Jim Broadbent. See one of the finest movies of 2001!

Summary: Wierd
Review: I thought this was one of the worst movies I have ever seen.
Couldn't wait for it to be over. Nicole was pretty good in it, it was the story line that was just empty.

Summary: BAD MOVIE
Review: One of the worst movies I've ever seen. Just a lot of noise and confusion ... no acting..... no story ... no plot. It stinks, period. Now, if you find someone who tells you they like this movie, you should reevaluate your friends taste. This movie was absolutely a waste of film.

Summary: No story, No plot
Review: What a waste of film. A total waste of time to watch. No entertaining at all. There is no plot and there is no story to follow. If you like noise and confusion then you'll love this movie. Don't bother with this movie. I can't overstate this enough that this movie totally and thoroughly stinks!

Summary: True love is it only in books?
Review: I watched this movie expecting that it would be a boring musical but instead I was so moved and so felt the meaning of love. The love that that is shared in this movie is magical, words could not even start to explain. I never cry in movies but I couldn't stop crying. You could feel their pain, their joy, their troubles and most of all their love for each other. It is a classical love movie but didn't feel like one. It had revenge, hatred everything that makes a movie GREAT! I am not saying that everyone will love this movie. But I loved it, and everyone I know loved it. It you want a romantic movie this movie is the movie is for you. Going to watch this movie I was saying how love sucked and that is was not worth the trouble, After the movie I couldn't help but love, love.
