Rating: Summary: unforgettable music; captivating story-line;witty & real Review: "Chorus Line" (stage version) is making the rounds this winter season and I can't wait to see it again; very few musicals have presented the unforgettable sound of the finale, exciting enough to send chills down your spine, together with a rapid moving story-line that ties the show together. The video version holds your attention from opening to finale; it's a procenium-like experience and if you can't get to the stage show, this video will faithfully reproduce it for you. You'll want to see it everytime you spy the cover. Unfortunately, the VHS is out of print--but probably not for long once the stage play begins to make the scene.
Rating: Summary: a chourus line Review: excellent video and its tell the trhut of a cast in broadway
Rating: Summary: It is a great inspiration to people who are truly dedicated! Review: This movie was great and realistic! It showed a believable side of how the dancers feel and think! Everytime I watch it I am totally submerged in the movie the whole way though!
Rating: Summary: a very true depiction of broadway life. Review: A good musical for anyone who ever wanted to be on the stage to see. It tells the truth.
Rating: Summary: I love it!! Review: I am very unfortunate because I was not lucky enough to see the Broadway version of this musical, but I feel that the movie was a really good view of what to expect. The casting was very interesting, and I have to admit that I like the movie version of "Music & the Mirror" better than the actual Broadway recording. It's just my opinion. For someone who hasn't seen the actual show, I think the film was great. Someone needs to revive it man!! I'd love to see it up on the stage.
Rating: Summary: Not as good as the show but still good fun! Review: While not as brilliant as the Broadway show, I still enjoyed watching as hundreds of dancers are finally narrowed down to a goup of roughly sixteen, including faded-star Cassie. We learn to know them as individuals, with their own life stories and distinct personalities, and yet at the end, we see the "survivors" in a line of other dancers, where perfect sameness is the goal. Absolutely enthralling, with enough humor and irony to keep non-musical buffs awake; beautiful with its own message for all. Standout performers-Terrence Mann (Larry), Vicki Frederick (Sheila Bryant) and Priscilla Lopez (Diana Morales).
Rating: Summary: A CHORUS LINE's music is one singular sensation! Review: A CHORUS LINE is both a disappointment and a wonderful movie! A disappointment because it absolutely butchered the original Broadway production...I mean come on they butchered the songs "Hello Twelve! Hello Thirteen! Hello Love!", "Music and the Mirror", and "What I Did For Love" from the BWay production. I mean come on "Surprise! Surpirse!" instead of "Hello Twelve..."? And what is up with the song Cassie sings...a mixture of "Music and the Mirror" and their own edition?
Rating: Summary: This is an amazing musical! Definitely one of my favorites! Review: I am completely obssessed with this movie! I've only known of it for less than a few months, and yet I've watched it so many times I know the dance moves off by heart. It is a movie that is so easy to get into! Immediately you begin to see the genius behind it that makes you decide who are your favorite characters and favorite parts! Some people may think that a bunch of people trying out for a Chorus Line may not be such a great plot, but this movie pulls it off with such style and charm you immediately love it! The musical numbers are great! The dancing is ... undescribable! It is truly one of the best examples I've seen of transferring a musical to video. (Or was it video to musical?)I have seen both : stage and video, and I have to say it is truly one of the most inspiring musicals I've ever seen! It is a musical with a heart.
Rating: Summary: A GREAT movie for all theatre fans! Review: This movie is as good as they get! The dancing and the singing are outrageous, although I wish they would have stuck to the original script more, I still love this movie. I performed in this show a year ago, and it really is my life. Anyway its a great movie and everyone should have the chance to see it's magic!
Rating: Summary: A musical classic Review: I love this movie! I've been watching it since I was 12 years old and its still one of my favorites. I was in the play a few years ago and so maybe I'm biased, but I love the story, characters, music and dancing. Sure to be a hit with anyone who likes or is involved in theatre.
