Review: Ok, Ok let's get real. Breakin' 2 is not the best movie of all time. Yes it contains some mediocre acting, dancing, and such. However, nobody can deny the music. Some of the best poppin' and lockin' tunes of the day. Now I am the first to point out what Breakin' 2 has missed, but I was also one of the first to run out a buy the dvd. Not for the stellar performances, but for the fun that the movie captured that was oh so 80s. What a great film to remember a fun and fast paced decade. So put on your studded collar and headband. It's time to pull out the cardboard and spin on your head! Enjoy! Dance, just get on up.

Review: The last reviewer must still be full of cheap French wine. To say that this movie is twice as good as any other must mean he has never seen Beat Street. When DJ Kenny drops the beat, he is the king of the street - not like that punk Turbo. While Beat Street features street icons such as Melle Mel, Doug E Fresh, Kool Moe Dee, the Rocksteady Crew, and Jazzy Jeff, Breakin' 2 would have been better served having Art Garfunkel spinning the discs and Bill Walton doing the helicopter.

Wake up last guy, your review is as good as your spelling (presumably Canne should be Cannes?)!

Summary: BREAKIN' 2 is ELECTRIC BOOGALOO!!
Review: This entertaining sequel to the 1984 smash hit BREAKIN' picks up the story 5 months later. The breakdancing duo Turbo(Michael Chambers)and Ozone(Adolfo Quinones)have been dancing to help young street kids reach thier dreams and now have they're very own drop in center brilliantly named Miracles. Kelly(Lucinda Dickey)has been away dancing on Broadway and is tired of the same old routine. She feels her carrer is burned out and on her return to California she realises that her future lies with helping her good friends run Miracles. But not is all as it seems. Greedy developers have plans to knock down Miracles and replace it with a shopping mall. With only a 30 day grace period to save thier building, Kelly, Turbo, Ozone and everybody at Miracles must put on a fundraising dance to to raise the money to save both Miracles and the community of the children.
This Movie is by far nowhere near as good as the original but with a blend of humour and fantastic dance sequences, this is truely entertainment at its best and it has the hottest Movie title ever, BREAKIN'2:ELECTRIC BOOGALOO!!

Summary: DISGRACE TO THE HIP HOP CULTURE
Review: this hollywood version of hip hop was a disgrace to the culture. this is why alot of the original bboys were against bringing hip hop mainstream and a perfect example of the media taking things out of perspective. any bboy (or claims to be) that liked this movie or even thinks it has culture in it, probably has no footwork ability, does air moves with their shoes off, and does headspins with a helmet..im disappointed and surprised that the few pioneers in this movie actually let it be filmed this way. Go get style wars, wild style, freshest kids, and scratch, then you'll know what im talking about.

Review: This is the kind of movie that comes along once in a lifetime. Maybe twice. A heart-warming story of love, hope, and break dancing.

Turbo, Kelly, and Ozone tell a powerful tale. And don't forget Strobe, the leader of Electro Rock. NEVER FORGET STROBE!

Summary: on a par with David Hasselhoff's CD's
Review: This is the only work of art even remotely comparable to the divine glory that is David Hasselhoff's CD's. The young people of today are so zany, but they have hearts of gold! That's the message of this wonderful film, which somehow was NOT nominated for an Oscar when it was released. However, all the members of the cast did receive the honorary Knighthood of Arts in France, which, I suppose, did lessen the sting. And of course the movie had its most profound impact in cities like Newark, New Jersey, Long Island, N.Y., and Metairie, Louisiana, as well as anywhere that gigantic hair and 80's fashions are de rigeur for weddings, funerals, and nights out on the town. But I digress.

The careers of all the individuals in the film have never quite attained the heights that they attained here, but I know that when they are finally retired from show business, the bright burning light of their talent will shine on long after they are gone on to careers as insurance salesmen, adult video directors, cartoon voices and late-night infomercial food processor demonstrators. Forever after they will hear, "Hey, weren't you in Breakin' 2 - Electric Boogaloo?" No matter where they go or what they do, this outstanding artistic achievement will remain the shining carbuncle in the crown of their acting careers. And that's the way it should be.

Review: To this day, whenever I hear of a sequel with a "2" in its title, I automatically add "Electric Boogaloo" to it.

Summary: An incredibly moving tale that has changed many lives
Review: What can I say about this film. I was in Canne, vacationing with my family in the 1983, while the film festival was going on. One night, my wife and I decided to see the ONE film that was causing the biggest stir in that sea-side resort. "Breakin' 2-Electric Boogaloo" was that film. I didn't know what to expect but needless to say, none of the movie goers left disappointed. We laughed, we cried, and we pop-rocked....and we laughed and cried some more.

Never before have I seen a film transcend racial and economic barriers like this particular piece of work. All through the streets, kids were 'poppin'. In resaurants, in bars--you could not stop the people. I even saw the head pit boss at the Monte Carlo Casino do the 'worm' across the floor while at the same time one of the patrons was doing the 'helicopter', and two maids were beat-boxin'. There wasn't a dry eye in the place.

The instant we got back to the states, I updated my wardrobe to include some new parachute pants, and some fresh headbands (to compliment my collection of Jams shorts.) I even found myself calling my wife 'Kelly', and she would never fail to respond with an affectionate 'Turbo'.

What I am trying to say is 'THIS MOVIE WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE' No longer will you struggle to get out of bed in the morning--you will jump into the shower each new day, mentally planning your breakin moves for any potential competitors you may meet on the streets.

If I could rate this film 10 stars I would--twice as good as anything out there.

Summary: More Street Jazz!
Review: When we last saw Kelly, Ozone, and Turbo, they were starring in a Broadway show called "Street Jazz."

Fast forward an amount of time (we are never told how much time has passed) and we find that our trio has parted ways. Kelly is now an in-demand Broadway star and Ozone and Turbo are back home volunteering at their community recreation center. Once again, Kelly tires of her life and heads back to the street to see Ozone and Turbo. Eventually, the three of them put together a dance show they hope will save the community center from being demolished to make room for a new shopping center.

"Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo" was released just 7 months after the first movie. Unfortunately, that short time span shows in this sequel.

Like the original "Breakin'" movie, "Electric Boogaloo" is full of 80s style dancing, mainly break dancing as well as poppin' and lockin'. And also like the original, this movie shines brightest when the focus is on the dancing.

Unfortunately for the movie, and for us, the plot line was expanded this time around. The writing has an awkward feel to it. Every time the dancing pulls you into the movie, the lines that are uttered pull you right back out. In addition, the increased plot highlights the acting inexperience of the stars.

If I was to base the rating for Breakin' 2 only on the plot, writing, and acting, it would only receive one-star. However, once again the dancing is the main star of the show. And if I was to base the rating only on the dancing, it would receive five-stars (it's really that good). So a good compromise is in order here, hence the three-star rating.

Review: Who would have thought that this movie would be worth a dang...turns out this is an EXTREMELY dated film which I love. Breakin' 1 was so awesome I had to get Breakin' 2. Michael "Boogaloo Shrimp" Chambers is the best freakin' dancer I've ever seen. This movie is worth it just to see this man dance, and I'm not even in to dancing!!! Adolpho just kinda gets in the way. My only regret is that Chambers isn't more recognized.
