Rating: Summary: not a great movie, but fun to watch Review: Grease 2 is, if you compare it to the first Grease, not too good of a movie, but when you watch it without that in mind (and preferably with friends) it is so much fun. Some of the songs are so cute and others are just plain laughable, but you can have such a good time watching it. If you think of it as a kind of spoof of the first one, then I promise you will enjoy it more. And some of these people are pretty talented singers, too. Check out Michelle Pfeiffer!
Rating: Summary: A MUST Review: I remember seeing this movie over and over on HBO one rainy summer. Every other movie was Grease 2 and each time it got better and better. As everyone has said this is not a good movie. It's terrible (everyone seems to have forgotten the Calendar Girls!), but it's addictive -- like Diet Coke. The opening back-to-school scene and Michelle Pfiefer singing "Cool Rider" (climbing a ladder in leather pants!) and incredible, but my favorite scene has got to be "Reproduction" -- the most shameless (and funny) musical scene ever recorded. This is definitely a movie that has to be scene more than once.
Rating: Summary: The best movie I have ever seen! Review: I got two words for you. Michelle Pfeiffer. I remember the day well, June 11th, 1982....from the moment she appeared on screen I knew that was it. I knew that one day she would be the biggest star. If I had a dollar for everytime I told someone this, I'd be a millionaire. She is perfect in this role. Whether she wants to acknowledge it or not, this movie is great. Not only do we get a great cast in Michelle, Maxwell Caulfield, Adrian Zmed, Connie Stevens, Tab Hunter, Christopher McDonald and Lorna Luft, we get AWESOME music as well. I don't think there can be a better song than "Cool Rider". This movie rocks over its predecessor. A+ and Highly Recommended. If you want good entertainment, this is it!
Rating: Summary: Good Movie Review: Athough GREASE is an incredible movie and a real classic, GREASE 2 is not as bad as people claim. I actually really like this movie and think that one reason it is so good is because it is not a carbon copy of the original. I think it has a funnier twist and really holds it's own once it is given a chance. The songs are good enough and the opening dance number is a great one. It is definitely worth watching more than once.
Rating: Summary: Better than the first one Review: From the first viewing I was in love. This is an exciting, funny, entertaining musical that keeps you hanging on until the very end. I now refuse to watch GREASE 1 because this one is sooooo good. One drawback - too much dialogue, not enough music
Rating: Summary: Let's bowl, let's bowl; let's rockin' roll Review: Grease 2 produced in 1982 is set two years later the original. Upon release this movie flopped badly, but I think this movie deserves another chance with audiences. The movie opens with a great enthusiastic number, and features a clollection of catchy tunes, like "Cool rider" "Reproduction" among others. The story is almost the same as the first, except Sandra Dee is substituted for Michael Carrington a new boy from England. He falls for the head Pink lady, who makes it clear she wants a rebel, not a boy. Of course, Michael makes the grade at the end and the movie ends with a great number. Do not buy this movie if your thinking it shall be the same as the first, as it's not. It has it's own pieces of magic that make it a very good sequel, it certainly did not deserve the bad reviews it recieved. Go on give it a go, you'll be singing the songs in no time!
Rating: Summary: A Great Musical Review: I love this better than the first 'Grease',because it has not been done to death, the story is fresh, and the songs are wonderful. The performances of Michelle Pfeiffer,Maureen Teefy,Lorna Luft,Eve Arden,Connie Stevens and Tab Hunter are hilarious. The school antics are more believable here,as they are being played out by a much younger group of performers. The songs are the best, with 'Reproduction','Girl For All Seasons','My Charade','Let's Do It For Our Country','Cool Rider','Let's Bowl','Turn Back The Hands Of Time',and more! Very fun and enjoyable.
Rating: Summary: A guilty pleasure, innocent fun Review: Although Grease 2 has none of the fame or critical acclaim of the original, it is still a catchy, if somewhat cheesy musical. The best songs are those involving the entire cast. The rousing "Back to School", "Score Tonight", and the finale, "We'll Be Together" are all great songs. Michelle Pfeiffer, in the main female role has a surprisingly strong voice. The story line is as follows: Tough biker chick Michelle Pfeiffer falls in love with a mysterious biker who fascinates the whole school. The biker actually turns out to be the school nerd whom everyone ignores, played by Maxwell Caulfield. Don't compare this film to the original Grease. There's no reason to! Just sit back and enjoy the guilty pleasure!
Rating: Summary: Good movie, but I think the first one is the best! Review: Okay, I thought this sequel was going to have the same actors in it but it didn't. I got a little disappointed that I didn't see the same actors that were in the first one. But this sequel only had Michelle Pfeiffer and Maxwell Caulfield. Where's John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John? This movie has gone way too far. I liked the other actors better but these are the worst actors I have ever seen. Do me a favor do not see this movie you will be a little disappointed stick with the first one.
Rating: Summary: After all, it is a sequel. Review: And "by definition alone, they're inferior films." Don't let the title mislead you. Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta are not back for the second installment. I was disappointed the first time I saw it, because I was expecting another Grease. If that's the attitude you're coming in with, you're not going to get much out of it. Still, it's a good movie. Not a great movie. It has its moments. My personal favorites involve the evil cheerleading twins and their duet "Brad", as well as the many different stages of the "tree" costume(I still think the box with the picture and the word tree on it was the best). At Rydell High in 1961 apparently the girls are the ones with the backbones, and the guys are chickens. The cast does a good enough job with the mediocre material they've been given. The one stand out talent comes in the voice of Peter Frechette, not a very well known name, but when you listen to "Let's Do It For Our Country" and compare it to the rest of the songs, you'll see what I mean. If you're looking for mindless fun and a few catchy tunes, Grease is still the word.
