Rating: Summary: Thank god their are others out there!!!! Review: My brother and I saw this movie many years ago on a local channel. Every since it has remained our favorite movie and main thing in common. The music, the scenes, the cast all come together to bring us lucky viewers a beautiful, dark, love story no one can ever forget. The Phantom of the Opera, Faust, Romeo & Juliet undertones create what no other movie has ever done.
Rating: Summary: Saw Phantom at the Drive In! Review: Remember those? It was in '74 and we went every night for a week until we memorized the songs. What a trip down nostolgia lane to see the video for sale. The music is still fresh (P. Williams knows how to pen a tune) and the story is timeless. Can't imagine it's been 25 years and I can still sing the lyrics. Worth the buy, worth the watch, worth the listen (get the sound track).
Rating: Summary: Ready for something different ? Review: Phantom of the Paradise is a breath of fresh air. The first to give you split-screen and more is a classic love story. And good against bad. Root..Root...Root for the good guy. Hiss at the bad. Is it a nightmare or is it the music industry. Suprise: It's both.
Rating: Summary: f-ing groovin' Review: I saw this movie for the first time about 2 years ago, and I only saw the last half. I sat there thinking, "What the hell is this?!" But I was watching the scene where the Paradise opened, so I was, at the least, confused. When I saw it was going to be on again, I watched the whole thing and loved it. Next time it was on, I taped it. Actually, I just watched it again last night, and even though sometimes it seems kinda stupid, it's still really funny and really entertaining.
Rating: Summary: Very cool Review: I saw the movie twice when it was released in '74 and have related to it ever since. Problem is that since it was such a bomb at the box office, nobody knows what I'm talking about when I smash my hands against my cheeks squeezing my face together and muttering the words "Phantom of the Paradise" but once you see the movie, you'll never forget! If it has become a cult movie..... then I guess I'm a cultist. Great music and very unique in many ways.
Rating: Summary: This " Phantom" is one of the best "rock-operas" I have seen Review: I once saw this movie during the summer of my Freshman year, I was 14, and I never got to see it again. Now I am 17 and still want to see it. I believe that it is one of the greatsest "rock-operas" of its time and still is till this day. I hope that anyone that enjoys" Phantom 'o The Opera" should see this movie. I truly do love it!
Rating: Summary: Loved it then, love it now! Review: I first saw this flick as a first run movie back around the mid seventies in Singapore. Paul William's music was excellent. The movie had my friends and I humming the tunes from it for months afterwards. Loved it and highly recommend it.
Rating: Summary: I was not myself last night..... Review: Possibly one of the greatest cult movies ever... extremely underrated with excellent music... and references to the pop scene of those times.... notable reference to the beach boys with the song upholstery....
Rating: Summary: AWESOME!! Review: Paul Williams has never been better (remember 'Smokey and the Bandit II'?) I have a few of his albums (remember those?) and he is very talented. William Finley, Garret Gramham, and the others were great as well. The music was way ahead of it's time. I'd watch it again in a minute.
Rating: Summary: phantom of the paradise kicks ass!!!!!! Review: I saw this movie for the first time when I was 8 years old, and I will never forget it, I recently watched again, and personally I think it was ahead of its time. Giovanni gioramirez@aol.com
