Rating: Summary: a blast Review: Ok so its not going to be nominated for any awards, but what a fun movie. The singing and dancing were great and it even kept my four year old smiling. It was light and entertaining without any foul language or violence. I would and will pay to see it again.
Rating: Summary: Awesome! Review: I just saw From Justin to Kelly last night and it is such a feel good movie! It's pretty cheesy but you just love it! I highly recommend this movie! It's so great!
Rating: Summary: Would you believe, I actually SAW it? Got the DVD too. Review: From Justin to Kelly is not too bad for what it is. It can be seen as an attempt to update beach films of the 60s to the 21st century. A Grease remake it isn't. It's not even like Spiceworld, although it was made by the same folks. I have to admit that I enjoyed it,but I didn't come in the nearly deserted theatre expecting too much. The Vacation cover at the start seemed more like a karaoke performance, and it may had been better to license the Go Gos original. There was no soundtrack disc issued here nor was there any tracks from "Thankful" in the film. What Fox should have done was to either air this on Fox back in May as part of a expanded American Idol special or just bring it directly to DVD. using the 2001 theatres where FJTK was playing for a wide release of Bend it Like Beckham, which at the time I wrote this review had yet to play in many cities.Don't tell anyone, but I got the DVD.
Rating: Summary: Justin and Kelly are awsome!!!!!!!! Review: Okay, the main story line is Justin and Kelly see each other on the beach, but neither of them say anything. Later on, Justin is passing out VIP bracelets to a party and all the girls start chasing him, so he runs into the girls restroom slams and locks the door. Then he hears "Come here often?" "No, just to get away. Look you have to help me." "Every girls restroom has an escape door." She looks at the window. "Com'on Kell, my hair won't even fit through there!" "Trust me, I'm from Texas, I've seen bigger." She throws him out the window, writes her number down, throws it out the window and it lands in a puddle. The number is smeared beyond recognition. Justin runs into Alexa and she.... The next hour is back stabbing, and lying. Will Justin and Kelly learn the truth? Will they hook up for good? Well the truth is... you have to watch and see. I spent 8 dollers to see this movie and it was well worth it! I can't wait to buy this movie!!!! If I could of rated this movie a 10 I would have!!!!
Rating: Summary: Great Singers...Okay Movie Review: I just saw this movie and it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. I loved the music. It was so good. It was really peppy. The story in the movie was interesting. Here's the overveiew: Kelly and Justin met at a beach in Miami. They both couldn't stop thinking about each other. Then Justin asks one af Kelly's friends for Kelly's number, but instead, she gives him her own number. So when Justin is texting messages over the phone thinking it's Kelly, Kelly's friend always says the wrong thing to try to break Kelly and Justin up because she also likes Justin. A lot of other little things were going on with Kelly's friends and Justin's friends, but one reason I didn't think this movie was the greatest was because Kelly's friend was so mean to her. I would want to see it again, but I could have waited till it came out on video.
Rating: Summary: Someone who actually saw the movie Review: I was just so curious, I had to go see this movie. This will probably become a cult classic. As cheesy as I thought it would be, it still outdid itself. I have to say, I sure laughed a lot, so that was good. I don't know if Kelly or Justin can act at all. From the poor/no plot and the unbelievably bad writing (a 7th grader could have done better), they sure didn't have much to work with. I don't know how they were able to keep a straight face. I knew this was a musical, so I have no problem with people spontaneously breaking out in to song and dance, but it should at least relate to what is going on in the movie. Definitely not the case here. Save your money.
Rating: Summary: GREASE on the BEACH-Kelly Better singer-Justin better actor Review: Well, this movie was pretty INTERESTING.... I WAS SO PSYCHED to see it last week, then when I heard aweful REVIEWS I was nervous to see it, but glad I did.. I LOVE Kelly Clarkson, she is my Idol, and I'm glad this movie turned out better than I thought... Ya, of course, it was CORNY when they ALL started dancing at once, but I think everyone has said that.. The Music was HOT... Kelly sounded so good, and Justin... I didn't get it... He started singing at the beginning of everything vocally on the set, then it faded into him lipsynching... My friends and I were laughing because we thought it was SO stupid when he started singing LIVE.... I admit, he was the Better actor then Kelly, but she was THE BEST SINGER...... THe plot was TACKY, but what did you expect......... Plan with your friends to see this movie.... It is a fun film, and you will all enjoy... Just watch out for the character Alexa.... She is a HORRID actor and even a DREADFUL singer, my freidns laughed out loud SO LOUD...... This probably wont be a BLOCKBUSTER HIT, and probably wont make any expections of some, but it was SO good!!! Go and see it.... A better choice then the other movies out there..... IDOL fans WON'T be DISSAPOINTED...... Enjoy, and too bad the movie doesnt have a SOUNDTRACK...... Yes, this IS a modern beach movie, and GREASE on the beach....
Rating: Summary: Awesome movie. Review: I just got back from seeing From Justin to Kelly in the theaters and I must say it was one of the greatest movies I have seen. The music was great and the dancing was amazing. The chemistry between Justin and Kelly was unbelievable. I am definately planning on seeing the movie again and hopefully owning it when it comes out on DVD. I really recommend people to see it!
Rating: Summary: Depends what you expect Review: I went into this movie not expecting too much, and I got that. The script first of all is hideous. The writer of this film, saw GREASE too many times. What was not taken directly from Grease, was completely predictable. So why did I give it 3 stars? For its entertaining purpose, this was an old school musical (characters break into song, when they are done singing its like it never happened). The spark between K & J seem authentic. They really do like each other. The dancing is also entertaining, on a amateur level. There is a blonde male dancer that you see in most of the dance sequences. I have seen him somewher, but can't figure out where. The best part of the film is the original songs. The best being the opening group number at the beach, and the 2 Kelly Justin Ballads, "Timeless", and the DUET VERSION of Anytime. Wonder why there is no soooooundtrack, because it will sell. I took my 7 year old nephew and 11 year old niece, and they sang the KC and the sunshine cover, for 3 hours after I saw it. Was it worth $6.00 a ticket? Yeah, I guess so. I wasn't expecting a Rodgers and Hammerstein, Grease, or Moulin Rouge, and so I wasn't really disappointed. The movie would have been better with a better supporting cast. The 4 minor players were pretty bland, especially the 2 females. This film was made to keep and/or put K & J in the spotlight. It does.
Rating: Summary: Worst movie of the year Review: What do you get when you mix bad acting, bad music and reality TV stars? You get "From Justin to Kelly." The title alone should tell people what a horrible movie this is. The film tries to copy the old style beach musical comedies of the past and fails completely. Sure, those movies were cheesy but at least they were entertaining. There is NOTHING good about this movie. The music is down right awful! Neither one of these kids can sing and the choreography is the worst I have ever seen. I really don't understand what the winners of American Idol are doing in a movie. They won a contest for singing not acting. If they entered a contest for acting they would've been the first to be cut. This is without a doubt the worst movie of the year and maybe the worst movie ever made.
