Rating: Summary: I love this musical Review: I have and always will love this musical...I am not one big for this things but I am completely obbessed with this musical. The way they intertwine the stories and the humor and the songs. It's just remarkable
Rating: Summary: A "really" good shue! Review: On DVD, there are no special features and the sound is Dolby Stereo but for anyone that wants a chance for a Broadway evening while at home, this is a must view. The wolf alone is worth the price of admission. A grand musical with humor to spare for such a "real life" tale within fantasy.
Rating: Summary: Best musical ever! Review: My high school did this one, and I played The Steward. This video is just superb. The costumes are amazing, and the cast is very talented, especially Bernadette Peters and Joanna Gleason. Mr. Sondheim deserves MUCH recognition for this one. Some of the characters are just FUN to watch, like the step-sisters and little red's grandmother. My personal favorite song in this is "Your Fault", which is a heated debate between The Baker, Little Red, Jack, Cinderella, and The Witch as to who exactly is to blame for the whole mess. I give it five stars, everything a broadway production should be.
Rating: Summary: I love this video!!!! Review: My school Drama were going to do this musical so we wtched it. I loved every minute of it! Bernadette Peters was perfect for the role of the witch!
Rating: Summary: Awesome.. Review: I played the Baker's Wife in "Into the Woods" and I so admire the intricacies of the plot and the message that it conveys. The acting in the film is amazing. I admire each of the actors for the full characters they created.
Rating: Summary: Best musical I've seen thus far Review: I'm 12, but this is my alltime fave musical! Bernadette Peters is brilliant, her comical timing hitting the dot. Gleason and Zien pair up perfectly, with Ben Wright and Danielle Ferland playing Jack and Lil Red. When you see it you'll never want to stop watching it again (untill you've seen it 90,000,000,000,000,000 times!)
Rating: Summary: The best of Sondheim is in "Into the Woods" Review: "Into the Woods" is Stephen Sondheim at his best. He presents a very masterful and exuberating score. James Lapine's book is equally impressive. The performances range from great to excellent. Is there a better musical comedy star of our generation than Bernadette Peters? She brings life to the stage every time she appears. Joanna Gleason as the Baker's Wife shines with show-stopping brilliance. If you have just awakened to the glory that is the musical theater I recommend you to see "Into the Woods."
Rating: Summary: The Festivlie Review: This is a great DVD, the only thing that tops seeing it here, is seeing it on stage.
Rating: Summary: This Movie is one of my favorite musicals. Review: Into the Woods is one of my all time favorite shows. The portrayal of all of the mixed fairy tales by Bernadette Peters is excellent. Although, Cinderella's Prince is my favorite character and I recommend you buy this movie because of him. If you have any questions, I am a master of Sondheim!
Rating: Summary: Still A Favorite Review: I first saw this musical on PBS when I was 4 and instantly fell in love with the story book characters. In fact the Witch was and still is my favorite character in this show. This show also remains one of my favorite shows and I expect always will be. It is the perfect way to bring theater into your home and and will appeal to people of all ages. The acting is superb. Bernadette Peters, Joanna Gleason, and Chip Zion steal the show.
