Rating: Summary: The Spice Girls Can Do Magic Tricks? Review: I guess they can! They manage to turn five women who can't sing into five women who can't act! This movie wouldn't have been so horrible if it hadn't been predictable. The " girls " were too busy acting out their personas and trying to be bubbly and funny that any spark was lost at the end. Unless you're a hang on Spice Girl fan---and not embarrassed to admit it, you will PROBABLY like this. Then again a SG fan has already seen this movie, whatever it is. But it does prove I'm pyschic. I knew they would break up after this film and...they did. Why buy this when you can rent something more challenging to the mind like Big Bird's Big Adventure.
Rating: Summary: Best Album I've listened to....Still #1 in my book!! Review: This is the Spice Girls second album, that was released November 4, 1997. Selling more that 10 million albums, this is another great album. When I got "Spice", their debut, I thought it was a great album and had to have been my favorite....ever! For your information, "Spice" sold a whoping 22 million copies! "Spiceworld", is better in my opinion! Like "Spice", it contains 10 songs. Half of the songs on both albums hit #1. This album is also classified as a soundtrack, to their huge worldwide blockbuster, "Spiceworld". This album has a lot of flavor, from great #1 ballads like "Viva Forever" and their 2nd Christmas hit "Too Much", to their #1 3-D hit, "Spice Up Your Life" and the #1 hit for Pepsi, "Move Over", this album is definately something for everyone. Anyone, but punk rockers will enjoy this album. It has something for everyone. The Spice Girls fought off their critics by not caring, and that is what made them....THEMSELVES! The hits on this album consist of five #1 chart toppers, including the U.K.'s Pepsi song and their 2nd Christmas hit! A review for their five #1 hits is below.1) Spice Up Your Life: Fall 1997. Them for their hit movie, "Spiceworld" 2) Too Much: Winter 1997. Their 2nd Christmas hit. 3) Move Over: Released Winter 1997 into 1998. The U.K.'s million dollar Pepsi song. 4) Stop: Spring 1998. Only single that didn't hit #1 in it's first week, but went to #1 the second week! 5) Viva Forever: This song, in a way, was dedicated to Ginger Spice, Geri Halliwell, after her departure. She, went on as a solo artist and continued to do great! All in all, this is a great album and I would advise anyone who does not own it, to go out and buy it immediately! -Pisces
Rating: Summary: LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA,,,,, LA LA LA LA LA LA LAA Review: hahaahahahaha, i dont know why i was so tempted to do that :) I think the Spice Girls are tied with Good Charlotte for being the worst teenybopper fad in history- well at least the Spice Girls didnt call themselves "punk"....
Rating: Summary: Vive Spice Girls! Review: Ahh.. the Spice Girls craze. Seems like just yesterday, the whole world was buying their CDs, posters, candies, dolls, etc. I was one of the crazy fanatics would would be booked for their concerts, whether it was in the nose bleed area or not, I was screaming my head off, singing along with them and viewing them from my section with binoculars. Now, the old fans of the Spice Girls laugh whenever people bring up their band's name. Making fun of them. It was just like the Backstreet Boys. They used to be known and loved around the world, and now they are known as.. well, unpleasantly and unmentional names. Anyway, back on topic: I love Spice World. Make fun of me all you want, I'm not ashamed! This movie entertained me the five hundred or so times I watched it. I had to replace it three times in about a year and a half, I watched it so much it would crack and fizzle. This movie doesn't really have a story line, but it's fun to watch them practice for their concerts and live normal lifes and laugh like us "normal" people. Even though they were acting throughout the movie, I still felt personally connected to the characters. No matter who kicks in the Music Industry, whether it's Shania Twain or Fifty Cent; Vive Spice Girls! PS: I miss the Spice Girls so much, I literally cry when I think about the happy times when I was about ten, and my whole neighborhood and best friends would try and put on little Spice Girl shows on our pool deck, or play with the Barbie sized Spice Dolls. I would have Geri's tattoos plastered up my arms, and spend my allowance on their gum. I'm getting weepy..
Rating: Summary: I miss them. Review: This movie moved me to tears...getting caught up in the Spice Girls drama myself it saddens me that the girls are now...well...dead. Oh by the way, Geri was my favorite, but she should feel really guilty that she left such a beautiful band. SPICE GIRLS FOREVER!!!
Rating: Summary: Pure pop pleasure. Review: Sometime in April of last year I got this little bug in me. I just wanted to listen to the spice girls. I had "spice" by them but not "spiceworld." So I bought it. Now I have to say that this album is such fun and so much better than most of the pop out now. You have "spice up your life" and "do it" on here. Both songs are dance, full of movement and just full of energy! Put this album on and you realize how much fun that time in your life actually was, how much you've changed but also how much you cna still look back on the old times and remember everything. The spice girls ruled the world while they were around, and I didn't mind.
Rating: Summary: Spice BORE Review: What the hell? Didn't these people realize the movie sucks when they were making it? WHO DID THEY EXPECT WOULD LIKE THIS!!!??? I want my 8 bucks back. Seriously. All copies of this should be taken out onto a desert island and incinerated.
Rating: Summary: The movie that should never have been made... Review: Now I have nothing against the Spice Girls, and I have never had any thing against a movie being made for the music. But I am against this movie. Why? Its boring. Its predictable. It drags on forever. There is no plot. Well, they attempt plot with an evil media tycoon that wants to destroy the Spice Girls (this is presented as a bad thing), but it is immediately backdropped by more subplots than you can shake a screenplay at. I think I deserve the Bronze Star for sitting through an hour of this thing before I turned it off. My brain nearly exploded.
Rating: Summary: Why it really WAS a Spiceworld Review: By the time this album came out, the Spice Girls were everywhere. They were on every magazine cover, they were on lollipops, books, they even had several series of dolls as well as 5 #1 hit songs. This album only added to it & to this day has sold over 15 million copies worldwide. Face it, they sold more records than anyone since the Beatles & no one has yet to sell more than the Spice Girls did. They are a landmark in pop music, a legacy & without them, there would be no Britney or Christina. 01. Spice Up Your Life (10/10) Yet another #1 hit for the girls, this song has great lyrics. And it was a clever way of marketing them. I was impressed by the video, it is very good. Great song. 02. Stop (10/10) The one song that didn't reach #1 in the UK. I love this one. Geri's vocals are in my opinion the best part of this song. She sounds so sweet & perfect in her verses. Catchy lyrics...a perfect pop song. 03. Too Much (10/10) One of my fav songs by them of all time. Just like 2 Become 1. I love the message & story behind this one. When you have it, it's too much...when you don't, it's not enough. GREAT lyrics. 04. Saturday Night Divas (10/10) Another favorite of mine. I love Melanie C's part in the bridge. Her voice here amazes me. Emma's verses are also perfect. Nice song with original, different verses. Love it! 05. Never Give Up On The Good Times (10/10) Alot of fans agree this would have been a great single. This is a great song with a great message to everyone. Especially to the girls. Be safe & don't get pregnant...live young while you can. 06. Move Over (8/10) The Pepsi song, but it's great overall. Kind of a filler on this album, but its smooth rythm and raw vocals make up for it. Although I prefer the other Pepsi song "Step To Me" over this one. It is available on the Japanese version of this album. 07. Do It (9/10) Another song with a great message! My mom didn't think so when this album first came out, but I agreed with everything they are saying & I still do. "Rules are meant to be broken, do what suites you, not what they want you to do." 08. Denying (10/10) Reminds me of my ex boyfriend denying he was actually gay. This is one of my favorites. "You ain't foolin nobody but yourself." So true. 09. Viva Forever (10/10) Gorgeous! Beautiful lyrics & melody. Saying goodbye to true love...I can relate to this deeper than alot of the other songs here. This song actually gives me chills, it's a haunting song. One of their best. 10. The Lady Is A Vamp (7/10) Not one of my favorites, but it IS different. And it's a great way to end the album just like a concert..."Ladies and gentlemen, we hope that you enjoyed the show!" Overall this album is just as good as the original with just as much spice as the last. Geri, Emma, Mel C, Mel B & Victoria all have equal vocals on this one & they all sound amazing nonetheless. Actually this album is probably my favorite out of all three, and I do LOVE all three. So if you don't have this already, buy it used or something. It is fun. It makes you dance, cry & think alot. Not just a soundtrack, this is an ALBUM. Get it!
