Rating: Summary: The Kids Loved It Review: If you've never seen Cats, you're missing a cultural experience. This musical is beyond the reach of those of us who are down-to-earth, real-world, biscuits-and-gravy folk. It's artsy in style and content, and not the kind of thing your average redneck would enjoy, but despite their rural roots, my teenagers love this video. They've watched it so much that they can sing all of the songs--even when they are not watching the video. If I wanted to introduce kids to spectacular musicals, this would be the one I'd choose. Frankly, watching strange poems set to music and dance is not my cup of tea, but the performances are first rate, the costumes are remarkable, and the theatre technicians did a super job. Check it out for the sheer entertainment value. If you decide it "means" something, then you get something extra.
Rating: Summary: Thank you all Review: Hello I'm Jo Gibb. I play Rumpleteazer in the cats video! It was really fun making it and I'm glad that you all enjoy it! It is really cool that alot of people are making cats costumes. That would be really fun, but I still have my costume I mess around in it everyday. Drew Varley comes over to my house every once in a while. He's really sweet.
Rating: Summary: ewwwwww!look how dirty those cats are!!! Review: This is a day that will live in infamancy. If FDR was still alive, then he would have repeated this the very day that "Cats" came out on DVD. The content is bad, the voices are awful, the songs are bad, and even a past music teacher of mine was disgusted at the lack of taste. I highly reccomend you never to watch this movie.
Rating: Summary: cats cats cats cats cats cats cats......... Review: i am the biggest cats fan there is. i have watched it atleast 100 times, including last night. my whole family loves it, and we watch it when we are bored. my absolute favorite is jacob brent, (misto), he is soooooooo hot and he is the best dancer alive. my friends think i am nuts, but i told them to watch it,and they fimally gave in and said it was the best they have ever seen!!! my only disapointment is that i never got to see it live. i was going to see it live, but my mom got lazy and forgot to buy the tickets. but i made my self feel better by watching the video again. i recomend it to everyone, it is an all ages film, and you will have the best time ever!!!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: I loved it Review: I'm pretty sure seeing it live is much much better, but for a person like me who lives too far and can't afford to go this is the closest I'll ever get to seeing a broadway musical.I absolutely loved all the songs and all the actors were great. My favorites being Rum Tum Tugger and Mr.Mistofolees.Jacob Brent is a great dancer. It may not be the best movie in the world and some may hate it,but you should definitely give it a try.I was a bit skeptical at first but ended up loving it.It's just the kind of musical that puts me in a good mood.So go ahead and maybe you'll enjoy it as much as i do.

Rating: Summary: Still the Best Review: I first met these fabulous felines about 4 years ago, via the video. I have about six copies of the video and two of the dvd issue. That's just in case one machine breaks down so I won't have to experience withdrawal symptoms. In short, after all this viewing, I still believe CATS followed by Les Mis, are the greatest musicals of our time. And, of course, in my opinion the greatest dancer in the video is Victoria. As I said in my review here some years ago. All of the dancers and singers were fantastic, but she (PCS) remains my fav. She's now in Chitty-Chitty Bang Bang playing at the Palladium. I'll get that one too when it comes out on video, especially since Michael Ball, who played Marius in Les Mis, is the main character. Any opposing opinions may be sent to me at my e-mail address. CATS the musical brought me some of the finest young friends I've ever been privileged to meet and we've remained friends all these years and hopefully will continue for decades to come. Rating: Summary: Now and Forever a must own DVD Review: I saw Cats for the first time on the afternoon of Wednesday July 4, 1984 at the Wintergarden Theater in my homeland of New York. Since then the music and performance has been ringing in my head. I've seen it at least twice again since moving to the DC area at the National Theater. Then this performance on Great Performances on PBS, and I bought the DVD soon after that. It will not take you long to see why and how it won 7 1982 Tony Awards including Best Musical and why it kept up for 20 years both here and in London. Somewhere someone is still performing it. This performance beings two of the best of both original casts together: Elaine Paige (the Original London Grizabella) and Ken Page (no relation) (the Original Broadway Deuteronomy) with a talented group of others and veteran theater actor John Mills as veteran theater cat Gus. This purposely staged for tv showing is lacking the poem/song of Growltiger's Last Stand, only because the actor who plays Gus has to play Growltiger and Sir John is over 80. But even without that one number, this is still a performance worth owning in your DVD library. If an actual live stage performance comes out on DVD or even a movie hits the big screen then DVD, by all means by it. Until then, this is the only way to bring T.S. Elliot's performed poems into your house. So buy it and let the memory live again.
Rating: Summary: Oustanding Production! Review: This is an outstanding cast in one of my favorite musicals of all time, particularly Elaine Paige. The only fault I found in the DVD was the sound quality, which was very sub-standard. I still highly recommend it!
