Rating: Summary: Absolutely Purrrfect!! Must see!! Review: First, let me talk about what was wrong with this video. Okay, that done, on with the good. The music of ALW is fantastic and (to me)habit forming. It actually stirs feelings inside me that no rock and roll songs could ever do. The cast all play their parts to purrfection, with some standouts like J Brent, Rosemarie Ford, and Jo Gibb. Also, when you see it, you will remember "Victoria" for a long time. She can really dance. Also have made some great friends who feel as I do, such as Jellicle Frank. He has given me some great insights into the video. Please, at least see it once. You'll know why they say "Cats Now and Forever"Broadway John
Rating: Summary: If you like Musicals Don't Miss this one Review: This was a made for video production. I liked the fact that it was not done in front of an audiance. Riverdance II and Lord of the Dance are great but the noise and sounds comming from the audiance are a distraction in parts. With Cats you have none of that pure clear video and crisp clean sound. I hope someone comes out with more musicals like this one. You can't go wrong with this DVD.
Rating: Summary: Dreaming Cats Review: Since I first wrote a review for this video, I've heard from a good many cat-dreamers who have found a way to go with their careers all because of CATS. Yes, especially Etcetera2 and Demeter444. and I know you're all going achieve your goals to dance and/or sing or both in a future version of CATS. I have no doubts that you'll stun the world as did PC Smith, R.Ford and A. May, not to mention Mungojerrie and Rumpletezzer and others. Just remember, no matter what, I'm out here waiting to hear and read about your success, and that of all those young meow-kittens who have plans and hopes to one day be in one of the most famous musicals of all time. To all of you who responded to my inquiries and comments, my Thanks. Jellicle Frank
Rating: Summary: Updated review Review: First, I apologize to all those folks out there who care for "Victoria" as much as I do. My special appreciation to Etcetera and Demeter who I came to cherish as very special in that very short while. Two wonderful kids who are going to do and be everything I believe for them. Jemimus, you are a treasure trove of help. John V. (who I now call BroadwayJohn, and Angela, (who I've named Angelcat) and all you who've delighted and challenged me, thanks for reassuring me that I was not hallucinating and that a good many of you also shared my thoughts about PC Smith, the ultimate Victoria - (until Etcetera2 and Demeter get there)!!! JellicleFrank
Rating: Summary: DREW VARLEY AND JO GIBB WERE NOT DUBBED!!! Review: I LOVE the video but, as most people are aware, there has been a terrible mistake in the credits of the video stating that Drew and Jo were dubbed. It's not true. They sang the number themselves, and have been trying to get this error corrected all this time. But, still the powers that be haven't been cooperative in solving this matter. We the fans have to help them out. Tell all CATS fans about this dubbing mistake. Hopefully by bringing it to light, Drew and Jo will finally get a little justice.
Rating: Summary: Learned so much more of the story Review: I loved the Video but did miss the audience participation. The music is great but missed so many of the lines in the on stage production and with the Video I got the story much better.
Rating: Summary: Purrrrrrfect!!! Review: I have loved the musical CATS for as long as I can remember....but now I don't have to travel 2 1/2 hours to see it! I watch this movie all the time and although most of the songs are lip-synched...that doesn't make it bad!! I would reccommend this video to any one who loves CATS...or any musical...it's a good one to add to your collection!! Purrs, Rumpelteazer>^.^<
Rating: Summary: Fantasmo! Review: "Cats" was simply incredible. I have watched it at least once a day since I got the tape for my mother for Christmas. The singing was, despite being dubbed, still impressive, as was the dancing. I was bowled over by the talent of Jacob Brent, who played the magical Mr. Mistoffelees. Sir John Mills' performance was touching, and Elaine Paige's rendition of "Memory" was unforgettable.
Rating: Summary: Oh no, we've watched it too much!!! Review: Boo hoo, I think all the hundreds of times we have watched Cats are finally taking their toll. Our video copy is starting to wear out!!! And before we had it on video, we had a copy that we taped off of PBS (I guess), and that one is wearing out, too! Not to mention we ACCIDENTALLY recorded music videos and Froot Loops commercials over some parts! (Hey, the record button is right next to the pause button, give me a break!!!) Well, as you can tell, My sister and I have watched Cats so many times that we perform it in our sleep. and now that our video is dying, we will need to buy a new one! Oh well-- anything for our beloved kittens! (Peace to Jo Bingham!!!) >^..^<
Rating: Summary: Jo Bingham, Jo Gibb, Aeva, Phyllida, Rosemarie!!! Review: I know there have been a billion and three reviews about these kids, but I think they are so amazing!!! And not only the ones I just mentioned, but all of them. I will not even begin to name them now, though. Those five ladies were all so incredible in their own special ways. I wish I knew more about them. I want to meet them more than anything! CATS RULES!!! I'm gonna be in it someday!!!
