Summary: Bit of a mixture
Review: Okay, this performance was good in patches, pretty bad in others. I thought Glenn Close speaking 'With One Look' wasn't too hot...and if you ignore (or fast forward!) Sarah Brightman and Michael Ball you'll be right. I thought Julian Llyod Webber was fantastic (JAMMING ON A CELLO? WHOEVER HEARD OF THAT?!!!!!) Elaine Page did well as did Boyzone....but my favourite was KIRI TE KANAWA. She was thoroughly heartbreaking in the Heart is Slow to Learn, every time I watch that song I just cry my eyes out....she's got the most gorgeous voice that God ever gave to anyone...pity Te Kanawa didn't do more....the highlight of the show!

Summary: Antonio Rocks as the Phantom
Review: Though Micheal Ball stole the show; it was Antonio that made my heart reel with chills down my spine. Sarah Brightman was good but dressed as the s*** of Europe. Glen Close was excellent and made my faith in actors turn singers as being the trend in proformace... which brings us to Antonio Bandaras... who quite literally made the Phanthom come alive!!!!

Summary: Star-studded performances
Review: This is one of the best shows. So many stars and so many good songs. If you are Andrew Lloyd Webber fan, you don't want to miss it. All the songs are so organized, not even one minute for you to breathe. Glen close in costume perfoming "Sunset Blvd" . Antonio Braderas he can sing. Sarah Brightman, beautiful in person and voice. How about Michael Ball, Patti Page Take That etc. etc. You must own it.

Summary: Awesome compilation of Andrew Lloyd Webber's gifts!
Review: Michael Ball stole my heart away! His charismatic performances and huge voice that you can just sink into alone is reason to own this video. I especially liked the look on Glenn Close's face when he hit the big note at the end of "Love Changes Everything." Other outstanding performances were by Glenn Close (mesmerizing); Boyzone (charming); Julian Lloyd Webber (entrancing); and that lovely duet with Brightman and Ball. Also the last song "Whistle Down the Wind" was absolutely haunting. Michael Crawford you were sorely missed. Michael Ball -- you must give us another show soon!

Summary: Excellent variety of talented performers.
Review: I loved this video! After watching it for the 10th time, I decided I would like to have the soundtrack, but I have been unable to find it anywhere. I especially loved BoyZone and Michael Ball. Donny Osmond is the best with Joseph songs! I adore Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals.

Summary: A MUST HAVE, FOR ANY MUSICAL FAN!!
Review: This is by far the best tape of songs from musicals I have ever seen! Each and every song is performed excellently! Although many would gripe that it becomes the Sarah Brightman & Michael Ball Show, it is very good! The tape highlights songs from each & every musical (except By Jeeves). The tape provides choreography & such beautiful performances, that I STILL get chills after seeing it literally, at least 100 times. I recommend this to everyone!

Summary: Michael Ball was incredible!
Review: Along with the 10th anniversary Les Miz concert, this tape has made me a fan of Michael Ball. He has the most wonderful voice I've ever heard. When he sang the last line of "Gethsemane", I got chills down my back. His songs alone are worth buying this tape for. Most of the other performers were great too, but a warning to the few of us who don't really like Sarah Brightman's singing talents: you get a whole lot of Ms. Brightman in this concert. Antonio Banderas was great in the Evita moments and pretty good as Phantom, but I did wonder why they gave the huge honor of singing the Phantom songs to someone who's only major connection with ALW is a performance in one movie. Surely there were others with stronger and better trained voices who could have done it. The reason that I'm not giving this vid five stars is because of a few technical flaws: 1) the editing in some parts of this vid were down right sloppy 2) while the PBS airing showed who was singing what, this vid doesn't, 3) the production, as presented, lacked a sense of flow - the various performances seemed just tacked on one after another without any serious thought. The voice of Michael Ball alone, however, is worth infinitely more than the purchase price of this tape.

Summary: Good Video Except...
Review: ...Antonio Banderas. He was OK for Evita but they should have had Michael Crawford or any other stage Phantoms perform the Phantom numbers. Banderas' rendition of "The Phantom of the Opera" was terrible to say the least. Watch the video, but fast forward through Antonio Banderas and Sarah Brightman singing Phantom. She was even disappointing during that number with her slurred speech and lethargic movements.

I recommend either "Michael Crawford In Concert" and/or "Hey Mr. Producer."

Summary: A Genuine Treasure To Be Enjoyed Over and Over Again!
Review: The production flows flawlessly and features some of the best talent in the industry. Andrew Lloyd Webber's music is showcased before a live, very appreciative audience (which sadly, I wasn't part of). Antonio Banderas is surprisingly good, Michael Ball is breath-taking, Tina Arena belts out 'Whistle Down The Wind' from her toes, Glenn Close is pure gold, Sarah Brightman reaches notes so far off the scale my windows rattled, and it was worth it to hear the most beautiful voice God created, Kiri Te Kanawa. I came to Amazon.com to buy more, more, more! I'm going to buy a 2nd ALW 50th to keep as a spare since I'm sure to wear out the 1st in short order.

Summary: An awesome evening of music!
Review: Adrew Lloyd Webber has alwaya been one of my favorate artists. He has created some of the most spectacular shows to ever hit the theatre. This tape was fun to watch because it included a wide variety of his songs. The collection of the cast itself was wonderful although I don't think that I would have cast Antonio Banderas to sing the role of the Phantom...he just doesn't have the vocal strenth. One of the best perfomances had to come from Glen Close in her role as Norma Desmond. She was truly awesome.Overall, A very enjoyable video and I would recommend it to any one who likes Broadway musicals. Thanks!
