Summary: it was okay but I just wasn't awed by it!
Review: I've never seen the musical Cats and We have the Broadway cast recording which I never really cared for except for a few songs, I was told that I probably didn't care for the cast recording because I have never seen the play so I rented this tape and it was somewhat enjoyable but I just didn't totally enjoy it, it was kind of weird, the plot was very confusing, it just didn't seem to make any sense. Cats is Okay but it just didn't thrill me as much as The Phantom of the Opera did. I'm not saying that people shouldn't watch this or like it but just giving my personal opinion.

Summary: stupid, boring, waste of money
Review: This was an extreme disappointment!I like cats and I like A.L.Webber, but this is the stupidest, most boring musical I have ever seen. They sing the same tunes and do the same dance steps over and over until you are sick of them.Every song last FOREVER,on and on and on....I finally gave it away.Good riddance!I can't understand what all the hype was about.

Summary: Nothing To Get Hyped About. Watchable At The Most.
Review: Cats The Musical is the DVD/VHS version of the 1982 Andrew Lloyd Webber musical. It's been shown countless times on PBS, and after a while, you can't watch it anymore, it gets too annoying. But that's not saying that the show has some good stuff about it. The sets are amazing, and so are the costumes. The lyrics are great, and the singing is good. But one thing holds the show bad far enough to make it average. The show is VERY bland, and the main plot is goofy, and says goofy throughout the show, even after countless attempts to make it seem serious.

Summary: A great video of a really wonderful musical!
Review: Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Cats" is a great musical. This vidio I highly recommend and would give it ten stars if I could. The songs are all so beautiful, and the choreoghraphy is fantastic.
I espcially love the part were Elaine Paige sings the hauntingly
beautiful song "Memory."

Summary: How Much Do You Like Variety Shows?
Review: The stage-to-video version of CATS neatly captures the effect of the London and New York stage versions. The performers are expert, the music occasionally memorable, the choreography and costumes exceptional, the scenic designs are pretty nifty too--but ultimately how much you like CATS will depend on how much you like variety shows. For CATS is exactly that: one long variety show, no plot, no story, just one musical number after another. Your reaction to the film--will rather depends on how much you like variety shows. Simple as that.

Summary: This is the grandaddy of all great musicals!
Review: This is the world's greatest musical ever!Kids ansd adults alike
will be glued to the TV set, watching this timeless masterpiece over and over and over again! It contains G to PG-rated
material,so it's 100%safe for family viewing.In my opinion,a great musical doesn't need to contain vulgar language,dirty jokes,hardcore sex,graphic violence or other R-rated material to
make it enjoyable.CATS is one of these great family musicals that
entertains without having to have R-rated garbage in it.Forget about the so-called "musicals" like "Annie","King And I"and the
Sondheim schlock-get CATS instead. The acting is wonderful, the songs will never be forgotten, and the set is very well designed.

Summary: Cats: Now and Forever
Review: Looking for the pur-fect gift for someone? Or maybe a little pick-me-up present to yourself? Well look no further! The Cats Commemorative Edition, is a wonderful addition to any video collection. As well as the exciting musical, which features great actors and actresses like Sir John Mills (Gus the Theatre Cat), Rosemarie Ford (Bombalirina), Jacob Brent (Mistoffolees), Elaine Paige (Grizabella), and my favorite, the incredibly talented (and hot) John Partridge (Rum Tum Tugger), but it has a bonus tape that includes exclusive interviews behind the scenes look, and much more. If you don't have this, you should get it. You won't be disappointed!

Summary: the oddest thing i've seen in my entire earthly existence
Review: CATS is peculiar. There is absolutely no point to it at all. I was expecting to see something that actually made a lot of sense...that wasn't as weird as it looked...that had a sort of normal storyline...

And I think I would have been quite disappointed if that was what I had gotten.

I really like CATS, in all its strangeness! Yeah, it's got tons of people in cat costumes crawling around on stage singing...sure, they never once change the junkyard scenery...so what, at one point you can actually see a box of RITZ crackers amongst all the garbage...it's good! No, there isn't much of a plot. But except for when they do long dances, the whole thing is fast-paced. Many characters are introduced and sung about. I have no idea whatsoever where anyone would come up with some of their names...or where they'd come up with the term Jellicle cats, either, but basically they're all going to the Jellicle ball.

The music in CATS is very fun and original. The show as a whole is interesting. As someone mentioned, spandex+dancing DOES indeed equal SCARY. This is somewhat scary. Look at the little drawings included with it and you'll know what I mean. Macavity is just plain frightening. On stage AND in the little picture by RUG (really useful group.) There is definitely a thing with butts in CATS. Those costumes are SO DARN TIGHT! You cannot imagine how many butts will stand out, catch your eye, or be shaken in your face. BUTT hey, whatcha gonna do?

These characters are simply amazing. Who would have thought them all up? Some crazy person did. I'm not going to mention many, just my favorites. Victoria, the white cat, is really cool. She's so agile. Rumpleteazer, Rum Tum Tugger, Demeter, etc. are neat too. And I like poor Grizabella. In the end, she's the lucky chosen cat who gets to go up into yonder sky and be reborn.

The special features include the making of cats, a semi-groovy interview with the nice British folks who gave us CATS. This musical is so odd, and so weird, and so peculiar, and so scary, and so full of rear ends, that you will probably like it. Pointless? Completely. Bad? No! You just won't learn anything from it, but YO, what's wrong there?!?

Yes, there are lots of wonderful characters in CATS, and they are all cats...but my FAVORITE part of the musical is the box of RITZ crackers. Buy it, if only to see the RITZ box sitting there on stage.

Summary: CATS
Review: My children absolutely love the video CATS. They watched it over and over and have memorized the songs. It is a great family movie and introduces the children to the arts. I would recommend CATS to anyone. The music and dancing in CATS have the children out of their seats and dancing along.

Summary: The Mystery...the Moments...the Magic...
Review: Who out there can think of words to describe the pure magic that laces the air surrounding Cats? I'm not even entirely sure *why* such an aura exists, but something...something about Cats is pure magic. There's no better word for it. Those who haven't seen it won't truely understand, and even some who have won't know what I'm talking about. Be forwarned, there is hardly any plot to this masterpiece. If you're the type who likes to have everything handed to you on a silver platter, you probably won't enjoy Cats, and you have my pity. But, if you have a strong imagination and like to fiddle around in a universe rather than just sit back and observe, then more than likely you'll adore it. The characters are strong, but vague enough that you can add your own touches to make them whatever you want them to be. The music ranges from rock to jazz, to classic broadway tunes like the ever-popular Memory. Oh, and a special treat for dog lovers is included in the video! What I'm trying to say is, there's something for nearly everyone with a heart, a soul, and an imagination. Now...and Forever.
