Summary: Eddie & David are the stars
Review: The other performances on this DVD may not hold up over the course of time, but without a doubt, Eddie and David's will. Sweet, soulful and live. You can see their camrauderie together, and the music is pure. Sure, their voices weren't what they used to be, but they're still solid. I'd recommend this DVD to any motown fan; simply for Misters Kendrick and Ruffin. Also worth mentioning; 4 years later, the duo appeared in a series of dates live at The Sands Hotel in Las Vegas. An unbelievable recording of this period was recently uncovered and is now available. 5 horns; full rythmn section; backup vocalists and the works. Un-be-lievable. 2 cd set. Look for Ten Am Entertainment. You won't believe your ears.

Summary: Don't ruin your favorite memorys!
Review: This DVD was a total waste of time and money. The performances were a struggle for each of the artists to hit their notes. I bought this DVD to see Eddie and David, my favorite performers. Both struggled to sing the songs, missing notes repeatedly. This saddened me and tarnished my memories of these two great artists. Mary Wells does okay but why is Curtis Womack part of the act? The backup singers turned out to be the best part of the show. Their choreography was vintage Temptations. I gave the DVD one star because I couldn't go any lower. Better luck spending your money elsewhere.

Summary: Ruffin Rules
Review: This is a must have DVD for three reasons.

1.) You will never see anything like it again. Wells, Kendricks and Ruffin are gone forever. Sure, by this time Wells, Reeves and Kendricks have lost the voices of their youth, but none of the passion for their music.

2.) No label today can produce artists and music of this caliber. The songs are as timeless as the performers. Wells and Reeves are still beautiful and energetic. (Wells' duet with Curtis Womack was diminished by his much-too-casual attire.) Kendricks' moves were as smooth and as synchronized as during his days with the Temps.

3.) David Ruffin. Ruffin rules the moment he steps on the stage. If you've never seen Ruffin perform, DON'T MISS THIS DVD! Considering his untimely demise, to see him perform is a bittersweet event, His sensuality and playfulness with the audience are masterful. His soulful rendition of Statue of a Fool, My Girl, Since I Lost My Baby and impromptu stylings are captivating.

Buy this DVD and buy it now! Because when it gone, it's gone.

Summary: A great last look at Mary Wells, David & Eddie
Review: This video either on VHS or DVD is one of the last looks at these great artists. Mary Wells was beginning to show the signs of her fatal illness, but covered well in this show from early in the 1987 tour. Likewise with David Ruffin & Eddie Kendricks. The fake Temptations don't cut it, but a solo Martha Reeves (before she went back to using Vandellas) fills out this treat from the past. Only Martha is left!

Summary: Martha Cooks!
Review: This video is a must for the real Motown Fan. Mary Wells, although looking beautiful, struggles through a lot of her set, but she is as charming as many remember her. Her dialoge between songs is touching. Eddie Kendrick is slim and slick and dances almost like Fred Astair, light and cool! David Ruffin is in fine voice although obviously intoxicated. And Martha Reeves is a treat. She attacks her set almost as James Brown or Tina Turner would. This lady performs, dances, sings and directs the band all at the same time. A true pro. She's the only one to break a sweat that night...Ms. Reeves cooks and with grease!

Summary: David Ruffin Makes The Show
Review: This video is well worth the money to see the absolute genius that was David Ruffin. He lights up the screen with his stunning performance, particularily on the self penned Statue of A Fool. Eddie Kendrick although his voice is failing still has a charisma. The commraderie between him and David is obvious. Martha Reeves and Mary Wells try to reclaim their once greatness but do not manage to pull it off, still they are entertaining. David Ruffin's voice is still powerful and moving. An underated superstar. A great addition to any Motown fan's collection. One problem should have been more David and Eddie. David Ruffin made the original Temptations and he makes this video worth while.

Summary: "Eddie and David: Still the Mighty Tempts"
Review: This video was a joy to see, especially seeing Eddie and David kicking it together. The dances and the songs were a joy to see and hear. They're still the Mighty Temptations in my opinion. What I didn't care about was the biography that they did on Eddie Kendrick. That definitely was not a picture of Eddie and there should have been more written about him. I also didn't like that Eddie was said to be David's sidekick. He was as much a vital part of the group or duo as David. But, regardless of that, Eddie Kendrick and David Ruffin were a joy to see. Mary Wells did a wonderful job, too. I enjoyed watching her do what she does best and singing her "My Guy" song was a treat. I could have enjoyed Martha Reeves songs, but her voice wasn't entertaining to my ears. So, I really didn't care for her section of the video. Eddie and David, I can continue to watch them over and over again. They were the highlights of this video and I loved it.

Summary: Dancin In The Street
Review: This was great live concert featuring the Motown Hits of the Late 60"s "feel good music" performed by the artists that made each song famous. Examples:My girl& Just My Imagination done by Kendrick's and Ruffins of the Temtations. Two Lovers, Beat me to the Punch,& My Guy by Mary Wells. Heat Wave & Jimmy Mack by Martha Reeves. There is also an informative Biography section..
