Summary: Good visual production, sound lacking
Review: I'm disappointed with this DVD. Mr. Peralta is an outstanding showman, forged in the merengue styles of the great Juan Luis Guerra. I have heard his CDs and they have been amazing. I bought this DVD expecting a top-notch sound and video production and was surprised by the lacking sound. The camera work is fine and does not distract form the show. But, the sound was coming out Mono on my system, and was not coming out of my surround sound speakers. I own Bobby Valentin's 35th Anniversary Salsa concert in the Oso Blanco Prison (Puerto Rico) and the Celia Cruz Azucar tribute, so I know what a good DVD-Latin music production should sound like. As an enthuiast and collector of over 15 different DVD salsa collections, I am severely disappointed with the quality of this DVD. This needed more studio work before coming out. What really angers me is that, with the money Mr. Peralta makes and the huge budget he had to have for this DVD, why didn't he make a top-notch production? There really is no excuse for the poor sound quality (the sound is good, but only in Mono. No surround sound or stereo of any kind!)

If Mr. Peralta wants to approximate his mentor's quality level (Juan Luis Guerra), then he needs to demand better of his studio engineers and production people. If you really want a Peralta DVD, get it. But, I'd wait around until he decides to do a good DVD, not just a "average" one.
