Rating: Summary: Brings early 60s to life... Review: This captures the feeling of tough 60s teens from the Northeast where I grew up...from their seductiveness and beauty to dwelling on problems with resolves of typical shortsightedness - it's all here. The older sister is my underground hero - I entertain my family with HER dancing. This is my #1 movie to watch... and after I lost everything to fire last fall, this WAS the first video replaced. Jennifer Gray really pulled it off with this one...
Rating: Summary: Fantastic.... Exciting.... Beautiful Dancing! Review: This movie was wonderful and beautiful! The dancing was fantastic and the story itself has a lot of merit. It captures the excitment of love, romance and amazing dancing!! A DEFENITE 5 beautiful stars!
Rating: Summary: This is the best movie ever made!!! Review: Patrick Swayze was the greatest. I loved the dance moves and the way he moved. This is my favorite movie ever!!!
Rating: Summary: Best movie I've seen in a long time. Review: I like all the old songs in the movie. I liked the dancing. Good love story.
Rating: Summary: A really sweet love story! Review: I'm a big "Dirty Dancing" fan, ever since I first saw the movie in 1987 or so. The dancing and the music still give me the thrills, every time I watch it. The movie also shows what real love is all about, and how important it is to believe in yourself despite other people's opinions! Great film!
Rating: Summary: Greatest Movie Ever!! Review: Dirty Dancing captured me with it's one-of-a-kind tale of romance, devotion, and dancing almost 9 years ago. I will never get tired of it and I could watch it every day. It is one of my favorite movies. My older sister used to watch it, and I'd always watch it with her. It is a great movie, and you have to buy it. I watch it over and over again!!
Rating: Summary: Beautifully Photographed, Occasionally Trite Review: In the world of film, where some transcendant examples reign supreme, this movie (not "film," most definitely "movie") succeeds in entertaining while occasionally tweaking the conscience of the more enlightened viewer. Some dubiously moral but easily recognizable stereotypes (a former model who gets an illegal abortion, a gigilo dancer, a "good" girl who lies about her sexual relationship with an illicit boyfriend) are paraded without apology, juxtaposed by the reassuringly solid but "hopelessly unhip" proper Jewish family. With a theme of "All people deserve equal respect in spite of any obviously dumb and irresponsible choices they've made," this show makes it easy to see how the 1960s turned into the decade of decadence of the twentieth century. The acting isn't that great, particularly Swayze -- yes, he's cute, but he doesn't do his better work here -- and Cynthia Rhodes, who's beautiful but made of cardboard when not dancing. The dancing is phenomenal and the cinematography exquisite, but it can't completely make up for a weak storyline and performances.
Rating: Summary: A viewer from Elyria, Ohio Review: I absolutely loved this movie! The first time I saw it I was about seven years old! And from then on it became my favorite movie. The choreography is amazing. Patrick Swayze is a wonderful dancer. The love story of the movie is terrific. I own the movie and watch it a thousand times a day!
Rating: Summary: Great movie. Review: I thought Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey did a excellent job in it. I watch it over again and again.
Rating: Summary: A movie that inspired me to go and learn how to swing dance. Review: I know that there isn't swing dancing in this movie, but there is good dancing, and that is what inspired me to learn how to dance, I personally chose to swing dance. I love this move, and have watched it many times, and I'm still not sick of it. I'm actually going to buy it.
