Bale does great as Jack Kelly, as the rest of the boys their parts. My girlfriends and I emediatly fell in love with the characters
and the movie. I love it so much that now I have the video, the dvd (widescreen), and the soundtrack. I'd recomend this to
anyone.

Review: I know what you all are thinking... "Who has ever seen, heard, or cared about newsies?" Well, you should be super de duperly surprised! There are so many webrings, cults, mailing lists, fan sites, etc. etc. etc. it would make the average person sick! I myself know one of the actors. She is awesome. Her performance was awesome. As were David Moscow's, Christian Bale's, Robert Duvall's, and every other person in this movie. They worked long and hard on this movie, and even if it isn't your favorite movie, you have to give them credit. They worked so hard on the singing and dancing it isn't funny! So give it a try and at least give them the due respect!

Review: Cool cool cool great!

I've always liked Newsies. I remember begging my mom to drive to the Blockbuster that was farthest away, because they were the only ones who had Newsies to rent. I never watched it the whole way through, though. This movie could be about 30-45 minutes shorter. It feels as though it drags at the end, but it's still wonderful.

I mostly watch Newsies for the songs and dance numbers. Musicals are great, but why did they pretty much stop after this movie? They need to make more musicals. I'm sure they will, since Moulin Rouge was such a hit.

5 stars...because it's Newsies!

Summary: They Found the Courage To Fight The Powerful
Review: During the time when Theodore Roosevelt was governor of New York, times were good and times were bad. While the wealthy businessmen prospered with no consideration for others, the poor people fought to survive, including a group of poor orphaned newspaper boys known only as Newsies.

Led by a proud young man known as Jack Kelly (Christian Bale), the Newsies were a rag tag but fairly happy crew until one day the powerful newspaper owner Joseph Pulitzer (Robert Duvall) decided to raise the price of the papers that the boys buy from him and then sell on their own. Feeling crushed and desperate the boys are ready to accept their fate and tighten their belts. All save Jack, whose fiery spirit won't give up without a fight. Eager to save himself and his friends from this difficult change, he rallies the Newsies of New York to help him take a stand. With the help of fellow Newsies such as David (David Moscow), Race Track (Max Casella), Spot Collins (Gabriel Damon), and Crutchy (Marty Belafsky) and friends Medda Larsen (Ann-Margret), the Swedish Singer, and Bryan Denton (Bill Pullman), a newspaper reporter, Jack fights for his rights and to survive.

One of Disney's best musicals, Newsies is full of great dance and song integrated into an entertaining story that is fun for the whole family. It also has a troupe of very talented young actors along with some old favorites.

Review: This is one of the BEST musicals i have seen. Disney really did something right when they made this movie. In schol we just finished learning about Mr. Pulizer and his newspaper THE WORD and it was fun to watch newies. It is definatly not a tipical movie that you would watch in school because it is not borring and it deffinatly won't put you to sleep. The story is very funny and seirous at the same time. Anyone will love this movie and you'll watch it again and again untill you know all the words to all the songs in the movie. It is defenatly not a waste of money every family should own a copy of Newsies.

Review: This movie has it all, love, drama, comedy, and music. And it ties them all together beautifully. The young boys starring in the film all put up quaility performances. (The adult actors, well lets just say they werent in it that much, and thats a good thing). Kenny Ortega and Penny Holmes did a great job with the coreography and Alan menkin and company composed excellent songs (great to sing along too, and on the DVD you can!!) Overall, if you couldnt tell, I think this movie/musical is superb, it makes me wish Christian Bale and David Moscow were making musicals today.

Review: This musical was AWESOME! I first saw it in my music class. After I bought it, I couldn't stop watching it. I know all the words to every song. Not only is the movie awesome the soundtrack is awesome too. I listen to it all the time. My favorite character is Kid Blink. My second favorite character is Racetrack. I think that Bill Pullman sang well. He could've sang better,but he sang OK. My favorite line is "A Saturday night with the mayor's daughter." It's also my sister's favorite line. Like I said this movie is awesome. I love this movie and if you haven't seen it yet you'll love this movie too.
