Review: Barnum is a musical based on the life of famed Phineas Taylor Barnum. Michael Crawford portrays the man. Bringing a fresh energy to his portrayal Michael does such great stunts as walking the tight rope while singing. Sliding down a rope from the rear of the auditorium. This is a stage production that was taped in London. Michael Crawford's other credits include, The Phantom of the Opera, Flowers for Algernon, and Billy. He can also be seen in the Disney film CONDORMAN, and the Gene Kelly directed Motion Picture Hello Dolly. END

Review: Barnum is one of them productions where you have to watch it several times because it is so good. The show stars Michael Crawford (Phantom, EFX) as Phineas Taylor Barnum in this lavish 1986 London production of the hit circus-musical.This title was deleted in the UK back in 1992, so anyone who wants to own it needs to buy the Region 1 DVD or NTSC VHS. A re-release in the UK would be nice. ! Buy Barnum on VHS or DVD now ! Because it may get deleted in the US too ! BUY NOW !

Summary: Live theatre in your living room
Review: Barnum was well worth sending half way across the world for,(sadly, no longer available in the UK). This lively musical is full of song, colour and breathtaking displays of skill and co-ordination. Michael Crawford is outstanding in his role as P.T. Barnum and is full of animation as he sings, dances and performs amazing circus feats which include walking on the tightrope.

Review: entertainment that really takes your breath away. It is a taped live performance, but it seems SO ALIVE...there are little glitches left in (Mr Crawford has trouble with flaming paper).. but the whole show is a love affair between the actors and the audience....the ensemble are all wonderful...and the staging is unique and delightfully theatrical...if you like musical theater, you will adore this....it is truly one of a kind.

Review: Hi! I was in Barnum last year in a little theatre in Florida last year. It got my interest in Barnum. I just had to see the movie. I saw it and even though it wasn't as good as the one I was in (no, I was not Charity), it was a wonderful movie. I sang with all of the songs, and just had fun watching it. I hope you had as much fun as I did.

Review: I did not have the opportunity to see Barnum when it played Broadway. WHAT A FANTASTIC SHOW. Michael Crawford is superb as is the rest of the cast. Coleman's score is terrific, and the original staging by the late Joe Layton reminds us of his true genius. Any fan of the theatre will love this video, until it returns to the stage. With all of the good and bad revivals on broadway this one surely deserves to be at the top of the list

Review: I didn't know how far the extent of Michael Crawford's talent was until I saw this video. Some of the stunts he did made my jaw hang open. He did similar stunts in "EFX" but this really surprised me. A must for Michael Crawford fans.

Review: I first saw "Barnum" on Bravo back in 1994. I was blown away by it! Michael Crawford was so much fun to watch in the title role. The rest of the cast seemed to be enjoying themselves too. It was, however, 3 years(!) before I was able to get my hands on a copy of the video. The wait was well worth it! I had forgotten about the amazing staging/choreography of this show. If you're into musical theatre or Michael Crawford, then what are you waiting for? Buy this video...you'll be glad you did!

Review: I have been a big fan of Michael Crawford for years, and this show really shows his diverse talents. It's one of the best musicals ever! I'd give it ten stars if I could.
