Review: For fans of The Ramones and anyone interested in witty B-grade movies, "Rock 'N' Roll High School" is a must. This movie quickly became a cult classic with a following more culturally diverse than one might expect. While it is a silly movie, you can't help but like the characters and its stars, The Ramones. This movie shows Joey Ramone in his true character, seemingly barely conscious except while on stage. This is what The Ramones were like in concert, an experience I will never forget. Few bands have maintained their style of music over the years, but The Ramones are certainly one of the few. Rent it and you'll become addicted!

Review: If you're a Ramones fan, order this movie right away. You can't beat the close ups of Joey's face as the band plays Pinhead. You'll love the scene where Dee Dee plays in the shower. If you're not a Ramones fan, buy Rock and Roll High School for its witty dialogue and non-stop action.

Review: This is without a doubt the best drama/comedy/adventure/romance ever made. A true story of inspiration and human spirit. It even manages to eclipse even such movies as the God Father, Gone With The Wind, and Problem Child 3. The great P.J. Soles gives the performance of her career as the tough but loveable Riff Randle. Newcomers Ramones give academy award winning performance surpassing other comedy troup legends the Bowery Boys and even the 1983 Joe Piscapo led cast of Saturday Night Live. You'll laugh you'll cry but most of all you'll poop your pants.....You must see Rock N' Roll Highschool....Gabba Hey! END

Summary: The Cult Classic Rock and Roll High School Flick
Review: Okay, so most people liked "Grease" when it came to high school musicals. But I always had a preference for "Rock 'n' Roll High School." Did "Grease" have the Ramones? Did "Grease" have the school being rocked to the ground? Did "Grease" have a giant mouse worried about its children? This is the 1950's rock and roll teen movie updated to 1979 and instead of Annette we have P.J. Soles, in her one starring role of prominence after memorable appearances in "Halloween" and "S*T*R*I*P*E*S." P.J. is Riff Randell, the #1 Fan of the Ramones, which is just one more thing to be inscribed on her permanent record as far as Vince Lombardi High's principal Miss Togar (Mary Woronov) is concerned. Riff is aided and abetted in her never ending battle against the fascist policies of Miss Togar by her friend, Kate Rameau (Dey Young), who is cute, sweet and in need of a boyfriend. Fortunately, all of life's problems can be solved with the help of Eaglebauer (Clint Howard) and the Ramones. Of course, if Mary Woronov is in this movie, you know Paul Bartel must be nearby and he plays Mr. McGree, the only teacher who is hep to the Ramones. There are standard juvenile antics, ratcheted down a level or two for the purposes of this film, which is redeemed when the Ramones show up and save the day by destroying the school. "Rock 'n' Roll High School" is a film that embraces its shortcomings and total lack of pretentions. As with all good cult films, this DVD edition caters to the whims of its peculiar fanatics, offering up the concert footage of the Ramones shot for the film, decent commentary from the director, producer & writer, and an interview by Leonard Maltin of Roger Corman (sure, why not?). They were not trying to make a good movie here, which is why this is not a bad film but a staple of late night weekend programming. And did I mention it has the Ramones?

Review: This is the best movie ever, it's funny, has great music, and has the Ramones in it. ME and my friends watch this movies over and over, and there aren't that many movies that we do that to. So if you love a great laugh and great music then this is the movie for you!!!! Rock on

Review: Rock `n' Roll high school is what a musical should be. The Ramones are one of the greatest bands of all time. No wonder this film is a classic, how can it not be a classic. It's got everything a classic needs. Dancing, great music, great story, and of course the Ramones. Riff Randle (P.J. Stoles) loves Rock `n' Roll and the Ramones. But as the schools new principle Ms. Togar tries to destroy Rock `n' Roll and make more strict rules, Riff has to save Rock `n' Roll and the school. The kids decide they have had enough. So they go to a Ramones concert and try to get them to make a song for the school called "Rock `n' Roll high school". Now in a all new remastered DVD with special features Rock `n' Roll High School is the ultimate musical to get. The commentary in this DVD was surprisingly not boring. Allan Arkush, Richard Whitley, and Michael Finnell discuss stories of the Ramones and the hard process of making this film. Lenard Maltin interviews Roger Corman (there's only 2 minutes of this) Roger discusses that if they didn't do Rock `n' Roll High School they would have done "Disco High". What I really loved was the outtake concert of the Ramones for the concert scene. They play two extra songs "I wanna be sedated" and Sheena is a Punk Rocker". If you love the Ramones, you got to see this film and you'll love them even more. In addition to this film you should also get Ramones Raw DVD.

Summary: a classic one can watch over and over
Review: I became a huge Ramones fan after seeing this movie for the first time ~24 years ago at a drive-in. (And where is Marla Rosenfield (Cheryl) now?) No really, her acting was rivetting and she wasn't bad looking either. But I digress. A must see like "This is Spinal Tap" etc etc. Can't wait for End of the Century release.
