Rating: Summary: It's not that bad but definitely no big deal Review: I am interested in musicals and have seen many. This is mediocre, and pretty silly or even annoying much of the time. The only number of artistic merit is the one referred to in the title, and even that is no match for Astaire's lovely numbers. The dialogue is very simple, and everyone is hamming it up.
Rating: Summary: A Classic! Review: This movie was ranked #10 in the AFI 100 and deserved to be even higher. If you haven't seen it, DO! There are only 2 musicals I can stand--this and The Music Man. Why? Because they are both FUNNY! Singing in the Rain is a classic!
Rating: Summary: Entertaining and Corny Makes Wonderful Review: I have seen this movie hundreds of times, and never yet am I tired of its brillance. Maybe because I am a HUGE Kelly fan, but his finess and natural talent puts a big smile on my face. The pairing of him and O'Conner-yet another smart move in itself. It is old fashioned and enjoyable to watch and makes me want to jump right in the script. If you are a Kelly/dance fan this is just the ticket, if you are not, you will be by the end of this wonderful piece of work.
Rating: Summary: A wonderfully entertaining film Review: Gene Kelly once said " A show that is really a show leaves you with a kind of a glow." This film certainly meets that criteria. It's just plain good old fashioned entertainment with plenty of zest, warmth, humour, romance and of course great songs.
Rating: Summary: THE Best of the Best Movies of All Time!! Review: I first saw this movie over the summer of 1998 and I loved it instantly. On of the greatest musicals out there.
Rating: Summary: I am writing a review on "Singin' in the Rain" Review: I enjoyed the movie "Singin' in the Rain " very much, The scenes, the music, and esspecially the choreography were delightful to watch. Donnald O' Connor does a fabulous job of dancing his way into the spot light. Gene Kelly does a wonderful job of being yet again the man who gets the woman. If you haven't seen the movie yet you ought to it is a great film. My family and I enjoy watching it as often as possible
Rating: Summary: Lights, action, camera! Review: Watch for the brightest, most intense yellow you've ever seen when Gene Kelly's vest dances across the screen in the "Gotta Dance" sequence. You've never "seen" this movie until you see it on DVD! Get it for your kids, get it for your parents, get it for yourself!!!
Rating: Summary: This movie makes me smile all the way through!! Review: What more can you ask of a movie! Watch it again and again. Donald OConner's 'Make 'em Laugh' is a classic. The ultimate spirit lifting movie.
Rating: Summary: A wonderful movie filled with comedy, music, and romance. Review: I am only 12 years old, but I am a musical fantic. This is one of my all time favorites. The comedy is superb. And the music is even better. I could never pick a favorite song. The dancing is AWESOME. My little brother is 9 and usually cannot stand any movie I like, He is into sports and stuff. But he could watch this movie every day. He cracks up at Donald O'Conner, and his song, "Meke 'em Laugh" EVERYONE in your family will LUV this movie.
Rating: Summary: I'm singing the praise of Singing in the Rain Review: Singing in the Rain is definately one of the best musicals ever. Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds, Donald O'Connor, and Jean Hagen are terrific in this comedic, romantic, and musicantic (?) movie. Most regard it as the best musical ever, but technically speaking, its not the greatest. Now, I'm not RAINING on everyone's parade, I'm just saying it wouldn't win any awards for its script, but its still great and fun to watch and thats why we love it. So basically, its the best LOVED musical ever. Gene Kelly is brilliant as always, Donald O'Connor provides many laughs, and Debbie Reynolds is superb. Jean Hagen steals the show as the (ahem) well spoken silent movie star Lina Lamont. Definately a winner.
