Summary: Absolutely mind blowing
Review: I' ll keep it short: this is GREAT!! So it was a great film to begin with, and it's even better now. The film print is newly restored and looks incredible, the soundtrack is remastered for dolby surround. Plus there's a hatful of bonus material. The Beatles in technicolor psychedelia --- what more could you ask for??

Summary: An interesting new edition with a few unwarranted changes
Review: I was very excited about this "restored and remastered" version of one of my all time favorite films, but am I the only person who noticed that in the process of restoring "Hey Bulldog" they deleted "Baby You're a Rich Man"? I would have much rather seen the film restored to it's original theatrical version and the alternate scenes added on as supplements. I also thought the color "restoration" amounted to color correcting the original mod pastels to primary colors and weakend the overall apperance of the film. I was very happy to see the addition of the trailer but why not put the the "making of" documentary "Mod Odessey" on as well? It's nice to see the film back in print but it leaves much to be desired and is far from the ultimate edition it deserves to be. The final slap in the face is deleting "Baby You're A Rich Man" from the film and then restoring it to the soundtrack album!

Summary: This is my one of my top five all time favorite movies.
Review: Yellow Submarine is one of my all time favorite movies and one of my favorite childhood memories. I loved the imagery, the music and can remember watching it and singing along. It is a movie that I want to be able to show my children and I am really glad that they re-released it.

Review: The original story remains intact but it's definitely not dated. The animation is simple but spectacular. The colors are amazing. The remixed Surroundsound music is great. If you liked this movie before, you won't believe the improvement. I can see why Roger Ebert named it to his "Great Movies" of All Time list.

Summary: It's All In The Mind, You Know
Review: I saw this movie when it was first released back in the 1960s and have seen it a number of times since then. I expected the DVD to look better than some of the later film prints, but I was not prepared for what I just saw.The remastering work on this film is brilliant. It is an experience even better than the original. Scene detail is so sharp and crisp it could cut like a knife. The colors are psychedelic and the sound is rich and clear. Oh, and let's just say that the switch from mono to 5.1 really adds to the playfully surrealistic joy of the movie. Yellow Submarine is a wonderful movie for the child in all of us and this version only makes it better. Buy this DVD and watch it with someone who isn't afraid to sing along. All you need is love.

Summary: wonderfully remastered, but the story still lacks
Review: I got my DVD yesterday, and i just wanted to say that i was really impressed. First of all the new sound is explosive. You have never heard The Beatles sound this way before. It's amazing that the greatest band of all time not have their music sound the way it is supposed to. Imagine how much we are missing out on. If they decide to remaster all of their albums, i will be forced to restock my collection. the movie is still not that good. some scenes are better than others, the story still is for the most part a waste, and the voice talents detract, rather than enhance the film. The special features are wonderful. Don't do the audio commentary track. The guy will put you to sleep within 20 minutes. move the cursor onto the submarine, click ok and see what happens. i'm very glad i got this DVD. now i have to get "A Hard Day's Night"

Summary: LONG OVER DUE NOW I'M INTO YELLOW AGAIN
Review: Wait no more are Yellow Submarine has come back, To us 40 or something true BLUE Beatle fans. Saw it in the theater on the big screen and the tape soon after words then lost my submarine to a fire, I looked & looked for years now my looking can stop. It's great to have a second or third childhood in a hour and a half (VHS) time. A must for anyone who growed up in the 60's to remember how great this movie is maybe have a flash back to the good old days, with are forever Beatles.

Review: If you have a choice of a animated video between "The Prince Of Egypt" and "Yellow Submarine", I preferred the Beatles' one! Have a great list of songs that still remembered after 31 years (Specially the previously-cut [In the U. S.] "Hey Bulldog"), great animation, great art design, and many great players! FORGET "THE PRINCE OF EGYPT"!!! THE BEATLES' "YELLOW SUBMARINE" IS THE ONE TO GET!!!

Review: I seen the orginal video a few years ago and I loved it, now with improved sound and the added scenes, even for those who own the orginal 1968 version of yellow submarine on video, should pick the one.
