Summary: A Christmas with Mel and Liza but mostly, Judy, Judy, Judy
Review: "The Judy Garland Show" aired on CBS on Sunday nights during the 1963-64 television season. Judy had made a successful special in the spring of 1963 and CBS was hoping they had found lightning in a bottle to go up against "Bonanza," but the show never found a comfortable format until it was too late. However, the reputation of the show's Christmas episode is untainted. Judy is joined by her children Liza Minelli, Lorna Luft and Joey Luft, as well as singers Mel Torme and Jack Jones. The musical highlights are Judy singing "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" (her best holiday song), a duet with Torme doing his "Christmas Song," and, of course, Judy singing "Over the Rainbow" to her kids (both of her daughters have numbers in the show as well). This is one of the few DVDs in this series that offer only one episode, but once you see this one you will understand why. Final Note: For a first rate account of what was happening on this show behind the scene you should check out Mel Torme's "The Other Side of the Rainbow." The Velvet Fog served as the show's musical advisor.

Summary: Nostalgic Christmas TV special
Review: A real Christmas treasure for fans of early TV and of course Miss G. One senses Miss Garland's nervous energy and unpreparedness as she wings her way through the hour, but her showbiz instincts and bravura still manages to pull it off. Highlight of the show: "Christmas Song" duet with Mel Torme and "Over the Rainbow" with her kids. They don't make 'em like this anymore.

Summary: A wonderfull Christmas Gift
Review: I became a fan of Judy Garland in 1975.I was a teenager, and my cousin got me hooked on "Judy at Carnegie Hall." I wanted to know more about this great talent besides "The Wizard of Oz." This was before VCR's,so I had to look in the TV guide to see if any of her movie's were showing.I couldn't find anything usually. Then a week before Christmas I was sleeping on the couch, and "Judy Garlands Christmas Special" was on.What a Wonderfull Christmas Gift. Its fantastic to see all of Judy's children together, singing, dancing, and having a ball.My Favorite part is when Judy sings "The Christmas Song," with Mel Torme, the writer of the song, and she makes a mistake, and Mel says,"Close."This is the first time Judy sang,"Over the Rainbow," on her show. You can really see the love she had for her children. This video is a must buy for all of Judy Garland's fan's.

Summary: Excellent!! Great look at Family Talent
Review: I bought this but on VHS last Christmas. I loved it. It stars Judy Garland and her three children, Liza Minnelli, Lorna Luft and Joey Luft. All of Judys children sing wonderful and I would say this a MUST for any Judy Garland, Liza Minnelli, or Lorna Luft fan.

Summary: Another CLASSIC from JUDY
Review: I got this show on video when it first came out and when it came out on DVD, I jumped on it. I watch this show every year as a Christmas special to brighten up the season. It is a must for anybody that loves Christmas specials. It's a true delight to see this old classic on DVD, as is all her shows. They are perfect to watch in this day and age. All I can say in regards to all the shows out so far on DVD is this...Judy Garland, in my opinion, is one of the best performers in any area of entertainment there ever was, A true legend. Buyers will not be sorry.

Summary: Christmas Treasure
Review: I had first bought this on VHS from a girl at work 10 years ago through Avon. The quality was poor but I figured that's all that's available. I had seen some of the old shows on PBS and they all looked and sounded the same. POOR But when I saw the DVD I was overwhelmed. Superb quality both audio and video. The clairity, detail and crispness of the black and white image is unsurpassed. The auido is also excellent with no apparent hiss. This disc makes watching B&W a new experience-Remember, this was taped during the last days of B&W TV and it seems the B&W technology was mastered. I have watched this over and over again. The performances are all up to par by todays standards. A great Christmas treasure at a reasonable price.

Summary: Terrific!
Review: I have long been a fan of Judy Garland, and this DVD takes the cake. It's fun, entertaining and quite enjoyable. It's kind of a weird and garish show...scarily like watching a showbiz freak show -- But that was how it happened. Everyone appears drunk, but it's true Hollywood. A classic!
