Summary: Amazing
Review: I got hooked on Meat Loaf when I saw him on VH1 Storytellers on tv, and I was thrilled when they released this DVD. I bought the video tape first, but both the sound and picture are so much better on the DVD. As a new Meat Loaf fan, it's fun to watch him perform his classics and listen to him tell his stories. He's very enthusiastic, and you can tell he's really having a good time. His interaction with the audience really makes you feel like you're a part of the show even though you're watching it at home. It's so much fun, you'll wish it was longer.

Summary: Meat Loaf Does It Again!
Review: I have eagerly anticipated many DVD releases in the past - but none more so than this. Meat Loaf's VH-1 Storytellers is described as "One of the biggest intimate experiences that you'll ever have..." and it certainly is. In fact, I would go even further to say that this show defines entertainment. I watched the show on television, and although I enjoyed it, I knew that too much lay on the cutting room floor. As one reviewer has already said, "you just can't edit Meat Loaf". The locker-room setting creates a wonderful ambience, coupled with Meat Loaf who is clearly loving every moment as much as the audience. His voice, in my own opinion, has never sounded better - and this is also true of his wonderful band. (Patti Russo's sound and performance just has to be witnessed.) Together they beautifully blast out many of his classic songs. (If you think that Meat Loaf is just about Bat Out Of Hell, well, oh how mislead you are! Either way, in my opinion, he gives the best ever captured performance of this song on Storytellers. He just gets better! ). Meats storytelling is captivating. His interaction with the audience is deep, and his ability to act into a character is incredible. One fine example is Meat reading the original story lead into "More Than You Deserve". So few words, but yet so moving. You can see why Meat is so successful in Hollywood. The show will make you cry, but more than anything you will laugh. He's a very funny guy! So what I didn't like? A couple of songs are still missing; "Lawyers, Guns and Money" is one. I would also like to have seen all the new songs, especially, "Is Nothing Sacred". The disc is encoded for Region 1 only, being British, I also had to invest in new DVD player, but it was worth it! Now, I just wish that record companies would wake up and release more of Meat Loaf Live. Id love a DVD of his recent arena storming concerts across Europe, and a "Best Of" DVD. Meat live is a phenomenon especially in the UK, so why no new releases? Im eighteen, and haven't seen or heard enough of the guy!

Summary: Great Meatloaf, but left out what I wanted most
Review: I loved the songs and the interplay between Meatloaf, the band and the audience. The thing I wanted most however, for when I get a DVD, is I want to see everything, ESPECIALLY the talking sections. I wanted to see all the question/answer sections from the audience. I wanted to hear Meat's stories. I wanted to hear about his family. Instead I got mostly just references to items they talked about that I didn't see. There were three questions and some stuff, but you got the impression there was much more you're missing.

So the main reason I got the DVD, to hear more about Meat himself I lost. However, I love Meatloaf. The songs rock, what I see is wonderful, just wish I had more.

Summary: The Most Captivating Storytellers of all time.
Review: I use to "Like" Meatloaf. Now I "Love" Meatloaf. This VH1 Storytellers is by far the best one yet. Not only do you hear great music during it, you also get to know Meatloaf and his family and the struggles they all went through. You walk away with a great sense of love and admiration for this man and his music. He is truly Larger then Life! Sit back, relax and have a box of kleenex handy. This is definately a MUST see!

Summary: Entertainment for the eyes and ears
Review: I watched the show on VH1 and wasn't particularly impressed. I didn't think it flowed well, frankly it was disjointed. But having seen many a Meat show, I suspected they simply found what fans have known for years - you can't edit this stuff! The song's 10 minutes long and that's that... add a 5 minute story and it gets tough to squeeze in the show between all the commercial breaks. Well, this DVD is just the answer! Songs and stories unabridged - it's a wonderful thing! Over 50 minutes more than the TV show. When heard in context, everything works! Truly a great show, a great performance, a great DVD! My fave... More Than You Deserve, although Meat doesn't do the whole song, the part he does sing and the prologue were stunning! If you like Meat Loaf, you'll LOVE this DVD - BUY IT!

Summary: Extraordinary natural show
Review: Meat Loaf - this is not only a rockstar. He is a legend: This he celebrates on this DVD exactly the way he is known for: Quietly, sensivitely with this typical vocal power. His greatest songs in best audio- and picture-quality. I love this video because it's so intensive. Buy it and love it, too!

Summary: Meat Loaf - Theres no better
Review: This DVD is a masterpiece. MeatLoaf in a quiet surrounding, in fact a locker room, with about 100 fans rocks the house completely. He chews his gigantic gum all the time, but the music is as sweet as ever. The scene where he lures two fans up to perform the "third base scene" in Paradise by the dashboard ligth is great. All his greatest classics are included:

1. All revved up and no place to go

2. Two out of three aint bad

3. A kiss is a terrible thing to waste

4. You took the words right out of my mouth

5. Id do anything for love (but I wont do that)

6. Rock and roll dreams come through

7. More than you deserve

8. Heaven can wait

9. Paradise by the dashboard light

10. Bat out of hell

It is in DD 5.1 and DD 2.0 sound, with lyrics and some DVD ROM features for PC (Not tested). Picture quality is good and the running time about 100 minutes, so you really get your moneys worth. If youre a dedicated Meat Loaf fan, this is a must. If youre not, you might like it anyway.
