Summary: Crosby comes back with a vengence
Review: I guess that this is one of the first concerts with Crosby back after all his legal problems.Man, does he sound great here. This is a good concert with some new songs (in 1991) that are really pretty good.I was a little disappointed with the sound in 5.1 mode. The background acoustics really distracted from the vocals. I swithched to 2.0 stereo and what a difference! I usually always prefer the surround sound mode, but the stereo mode was the clear winner here. So much cleaner, especially at higher volumes. For CSN fans a real winner!

Summary: Disappointing... Luckily Graham Nash saves the day
Review: I had great expectations from this DVD. The song selection was (and is) excellent, "Acoustic" is the guys' second name and there was no reason to doubt the audio quality of their exceptional vocal harmonies.
Yet, the result is far from satisfactory considering the potential of such concert. Four major drwbacks:

1. It is not exactly 'acoustic'; Excluding a couple of songs Stills plays only electric guitar and though in some cases it does fit (Just a song before I go) in others (For what it worth) it's out of place
2. The vocal harmonies are lost in an annoying echo created probably by the acoustic structure of the concert hall and not the actual audio editing; still the result - when they get to high pitch - is annoying
3. There are some tedious pieces that go on and on and are very boring and don't develop; Mainly "Wooden ships" followed by "Judy blue eys", each almost 10 minutes of very poor arrangement. They could do much better - and shorter...
4. The song sequence is uneven: The opening (Deja Vu) is quite bad, but then it recovers and improves (mainly due to the density of Nash's pieces - see below) and is pretty even until it gets to "Wooden ships". The closing part is OK as well, but I assume most people will jog between songs

Still, there's one person who stands out and not only because he looks much better than his 2 fat and sweaty colleagues: Graham Nash's pieces are all good and above, especially when he's at the piano, and for those (like myself) who see him as the band's main musical figure - this does makes this DVD - despite the flwas - worth buying.

Summary: Excellent - A must have concert
Review: I own quite a number of DVD concerts and this one has to be one of the top 10. Recently I purchased " Daylight Again" and was somewhat disappointed ,but this one more than adds what the other concert lacked. Crosby is totally awesome. He literally beams with enthusiasm during this entire concert. They all do, but David stole the show this time. Little did he realize he'd be undergoing a liver transplant 4 years later. Even though the concert is named " Acoustic" it's not totally that, Stills is quite electric throughout the concert. At times he's almost overwhelming on certain songs in my opinion. Their voices are powerful in this show. They started out a little flat on the first song, Deja Vu and I thought Ut Oh. Oh NO !, but then it changed and wow they got it together and sounded so good I got down right sappy. ( don't tell anyone about this please ) LOL... The sound of the DVD quality is just great. It sounded as good on my computer DVD player in stereo as it did on my Sony Trinitron with Dolby digital 5.1 surround sound. It's truely awesome. You won't be disappointed in this concert DVD , so take my word for it and add it to your collection. It will make you smile time and time again.

Summary: Long time coming ...
Review: I pre-ordered these (Daylight Again & Acoustic) what seems like a lifetime ago when I first heard they were being produced. My mom and I sat down and watched them last night for the first time. Having seen CSN w/Y two years ago, I know first-hand that they just get better & better with age ... which brings me to my point. These are FANTASTIC DVD's -- required for libraries of all their fans. BUT -- the concert footage is nothing to compare with their present sound and stage presence. NEVERTHELESS, I enjoyed them and have watched parts of them again today. There is no greater harmony that these three guys -- and I mean no where. It gives you cold chills up and down your spine. And you do feel like you're there for both performances. Buy both of them now, enjoy them for a lifetime. Oh yeah -- they're on tour so check out their website ... found easily on a simple Google search.

Summary: WELCOME TO A DREAM CAME TRUE
Review: I'VE SEEN MANY C,S & N PERFORMANCES, BUT THIS IS THE BEST, THEY DON'T NEED A BIG PARAFRENALLIA, JUST THEIR VOICES, CROSBY AND NASH SOUND LIKE ANGELS, AND STEPHEN'S GUITAR ROARS LIKE A WILD LION.
THIS GUYS ARE REALLY AMAZING, THE BEAUTIFUL HARMONIES SHOW THAT TIME IS NOT AN ENEMY,AND THE EXPERIENCE'S NOT AN ACCIDENT.
ALTOUGH THE CONCERT IS NOT COMPLETELLY ACOUSTIC,IT'S A REAL DREAM CAME TRUE TO HEAR THEM SINGIN' WITHOUT A BACKUP BAND AND I THINK THAT IS THE BEST WAY TO ENJOY THEIR TALENTS.

Summary: Listen to "Guinnevere" in 5.1
Review: If you are over 40, and have followed CSN for the past 30 years hoping to hear them play music of the quality similar to their first album - then you've got to hear this DVD, especially David and Graham doing "Guinnevere." I purchased this concert when it came out on VHS - and thought it was OK; then recenctly heard it on a good 5.1 surround system - it was a totally different experience! If you love CSN, and have 5.1 sound - I highly recommend this recording.

Summary: Crosby, Stills & Nash - weren't they always acoustic!
Review: Knowing the street date was June 9th, I stopped off at Best Buy, they didn't have it, but that's not surprising, they didn't have Cat Stevens two weeks earlier. I then went to the local record store and there sat one copy each of CSN "Acoustic" and "Daylight" again. I now own about 100 Concert DVD's, all are classic rock, two weeks earlier I picked up Cat Stevens "Majikat" from 1976, Doobie Bros "Rockin' Down the Highway" from 1996 and Simon & Garfunkel at Central Park from 1981. One of my first DVD purchases about two years ago was a Supertramp show from 1983 and I've been turned off on buying older shows ever since, normally looking for newer concerts because of the audio and video. However recently I picked up the Doors Collection and the 1968 L.A. show that's included is pretty good so I've expanded my horizon. If your a fan of Cat Stevens, his new DVD will blow you away, even though I've held a grudge for his changes in lifestyle and religion it was easy to forget all that. Now, two weeks later I'm sitting down to watch CSN Acoustic & Daylight Again. I start off with the older 1983 Daylight again. I've been a fan since 1969 but have never seen them in person, I own the Woodstock DVD, and I can remember wearing out the Deja Vu record while stationed overseas in 1970-'71 and later the Four Way Street album. First off, the DVD audio and video are excellent, as good as any current DVD recordings. The concert was pretty much as I expected, a good backup band, a mix of old and newer songs, some acoustic, some electric and some with Graham on piano. I didn't know Graham Nash played guitar, it's interesting when they open and you see three guitars standing side-by-side. I would recommend buying this DVD, giving it 4 out of 5 stars. The second DVD, "Acoustic" recorded 1991, I'll probably rewatch more because it includes more of the songs I like. Stephen Stills is plugged in quite a bit of the time, so the main difference is there are no drums or keyboard backup, however CSN is good either way. The audiences on both concert DVD's are really into the band, but on the "Acoustic" DVD the San Franciscan crowd is a bigger part of the event, probably because it's a little smaller venue and the band invites them to be more vocal. Even though it's billed as acoustic, it's an energetic show, I would give "Acoustic" 4-1/2 stars. Do what I did, buy both DVD's.

Summary: Ageless Harmony...Crosby, Stills and Nash
Review: This is an absolutely fabulous concert with the trio, their guitars and a piano. One year ago, I finally got a chance to see CSN live, front row at the Iowa State Fair. As I left the show, I wished I could have had a video of the event. I was so pleased to see that there was concert video available.

This DVD was produced and directed as well as any I've ever seen. The surround sound remastered and digital quality video will make you feel like you were there (with the best seats in the house)!

The songs performed span their career together and their harmony (as always) will send chills through the body of any true fan of the best trio of all time.

Best of the BEST!
