Summary: Cyndi just wanna have fun! Time after time...
Review: Her vocals are better than any other artist including Madonna (...) but she doesn't sing this one on the concert. I love Cyndi and she sounds and move better Live! A must have for a Music Lover and a Cyndi fan. She's over 50 and still Rocks!

Summary: One of the best live DVD...
Review: American people will definitely pay more respect to Cyndi Lauper than they did after they finish this DVD. I attended the concert myself and couldn't find the exact words to express my feeling. Cyndi's pure energy was extremely high. Please don't ever compare this true artist with those phony lipsyncers out there. Cyndi is matchless...

Summary: Truly outstanding DVD a Must for Fans of Good Singers
Review: Cyndi Lauper is an underrated artist. There's no question about that, and this DVD proves what devoted Lauper fans have known for some time: there is no better live performer out there. This is single-handedly proven by her shockingly excellent performance of "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood," the standout on this product.
I doubt very much that this DVD will be going out to more than the die-hard fans, but let me just say that for those only familiar with the hits, her versions of "Time after Time," "Girls...Fun," and "Money Changes Everything," are all steller.

Summary: This is why Cyndi is still entertaining us after 20 years
Review: Everyone remembers Cyndi as that wild and colorful girl of the 80's, with the huge voice. Since that time, she has changed into a true class act, while not completely abandoning her wild ways. She's all about expressing herself and being true to the people she is singing to. There so are many sides to her that we get to see in her first live DVD formatted concert video. When she is not singing all her greatest hits, she entertains us with a story from time to time, between breaks(from singing). When she reaches back to the classics, it's like reliving that time all over again. It's nostalgic, but also incredible to see how her voice has changed over the years. It's phenomenal and surprisingly rough at times when she is singing Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood, and If You Go Away. She sings and plays a dulcimer for a new version of Time After Time, that is gorgeous. She does a manic Money Changes Everything--pulling out all he stops, leaving the audience in awe. We also get to see her off the stage, having dinner with her friends, on a Sunday evening. And even that is fascinating to watch, because it's Cyndi Lauper. It's a look into her more personal life, which I will admit always intrigued me. Cyndi is not your average person. She is bigger than life, and a superstar talent, and a very bright star in our universe.

Summary: Worth The Wait
Review: From cat-wauling kwepie of the early 80s to the devastating diva witnessed on this DVD, the Cyndi Lauper journey has been astonishingly rich. She has always possessed an arresting voice. Increasingly, with astute direction, her material has given vent to a range of emotion that is peerless in the pop province. During this mesmerizing New York Town Hall set from 2004 she pitches her voice with the same impeccable ease with which she inhabits a restrained and evocative choregraphy. Not that there's any restraint in her singing! But there are no funny clothes, wigs or smoke and the only pyro-technics are provided by string players, Kat Dyson on lead, and Deni Bonet on fiddle. Fortunately, being a concert, we have Lauper's Brooklynese banter to break the overwhelming circuitry of the music; throaty lust, stomach-grinding loss, heart-beating anticipation, and good old groin honey Rock. I wasn't even a fan, so the DVD(courtesy of my 17 year old) was some revelation. What a dame! 'Devastating' in that these performances obliterate prior versions. Her,'Unchained Melody', and 'If You Go Away' are sacred moments full of grace. And 'True Colours', is definitive. Most of her CD,'At Last' is here, and material pulled from earlier days is apt. She could make, as they say, the recitation of the telephone directory, something memorable.

Summary: Cyndi is amazing live!!!
Review: Hey all!

Here's my review of the Cyndi Lauper "At Last" DVD.
I can't get over how good Cyndi looks, sounds and dances, on stage. She seems more like 18 than 48 years old!

Her Montreal performance of the "At Last" concert was nothing compared to this DVD!
What a fantastic woman Cyndi is!

For those of you who haven't been to Cyndi's "At Last" tour, You MUST buy this DVD!
It's packed with so much energy and excitement.

I must admit...Right now, I don't particularly care for the "At Last" CD, compared to the DVD.
Cyndi's voice is more powerful and true, during this concert.
For the title track, Cyndi outdid herself 300%.
She stunned me, from the moment she walked out onstage, both at the actual Montreal concert, and on the DVD.
I've already watched the DVD 3 times in 3 days!

For those who aren't particularly in love with Cyndi's "acoustic" voice, i think you'll be amazed at just how well she pulled off this live concert DVD.

My favorite parts of the show are:
At last (because Cyndi sounds so much more "in tune" than on the CD)
Stay (Cyndi's comedic "explanation" and her interaction with the band)
If you go away (The dark, deep feeling of the song)
She Bop (the intimate, closeness of Cyndi & band)
Sisters of Avalon (I love everything about this song)
True Colors (The story behind the song is very sentimental)
Shine (What a powerful song!)
Unchained Melody (the images while Cyndi's singing are great)
Time after time (an upbeat touch has been put on this song)

That makes almost half of the DVD really worth watching, even though the whole thing is great.

For those of you who really mocked the "At Last" CD, I think you'll be more happy to have the DVD, considering Cyndi doesn't do anything boring during the concert.
There are definitely some "die-hard" Pop-Cyndi fans, who despise Cyndi's vocal capabilities on the At Last" CD.
Well....I think she has more than made up for any problems she may have had, in the studio.
Her live voice is incredible!

The only gripe I have regarding the DVD?
There should have been a photo gallery and maybe a couple more songs.
I noticed that they didn't put "Ballad of Cleo and Joe" on the DVD, even though Cyndi sang it, here in Montreal.

You'll notice the love Cyndi and her audience have for each other. There's a lot of contact between Cyndi and the audience, which is so cool.

Summary: Another Exceptional Live Performance
Review: I also remember very vividly watching the concert special from Paris on HBO when it aired for the first time. I was bowled over by Cyndi's incredible non-stop energy. The way to experience Cyndi's music is really by seeing her live. She's the only singer I'm aware of who actually sounds better in person than on her recordings. Her incredible voice is definitely the real thing. Live..At Last is just as equally fantastic...She gives it everything she's got and thensome, to show why she's probably the greatest live performer you will ever experience. She totally rocks out on MCE, with incredible guitar work from Kat Dyson, and on At Last, she belts out high notes that will have you in shock. The Classics like Time After Time, All Through the Night and GJWTHF, are sung beautifully, and have proven to be as timely now as the day they were first released- twenty years ago. This is a DVD that will be a crossover hit with people who just want to be thoroughly entertained by one of the finest singers in music.

Summary: Really good, but expected better
Review: I am a long time die hard fan of Cyndi's. There is nothing quite like seeing her perform live. However, after watching this live DVD tonight, I have to say there was just something missing.
I have been to 2 of her concerts in the last year and plan to see her again this August. While the singing is excellent on most of the songs, I really missed her usual mingling with the audience. Even though she did venture into the audience a few times, it still wasn't a true representation of a Cyndi Lauper concert. I miss the Cyndi with the colored hair and the fun outfits. This whole latest phase showcases her voice and shows that she has matured gracefully, yet I long to see some color in her hair and wardrobe. Enough with the black clothing already. During Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, she looked quite bored actually. I also would have appreciated some other tour footage in the bonus materials highlighting shows over the past year or so. Now that I am done complaining, I have to say the stand out performances were "Walk On By", "If You Go Away", "All Through The Night", "Shine" and "Unchained Melody"
Don't get me wrong, I would see this woman sing in a garbage dump and gladly pay a hundred bucks to do so.....but the DVD still doesn't match the thrill of the real thing. Thanks
