Rating: Summary: Great DVD to watch with your friends over and over again! Review: Detroit vs. Cleveland is a great look into hip-hop battles in their purest form. Forget the candy coating of the battles you see on MTV and BET. This is the closet representation of underground battles I've seen to date. While the production is guerilla-like (which in my opinion draws you more into the film) it's the content that makes this DVD a diamond in the rough:•Freestyles: in my opinion, the best part of the film. There is a scene where Killa Kaunn (recently signed to shady records) runs through almost all the Cleveland emcees... Classic! •Prop test: many people have not heard of this before, but it is a sight to see. Emcees have to freestyle about random objects pulled out of a trunk. This separates the real emcees from the fake. This is one of those DVDs that you can watch over again and find something to new to appreciate about it. It showcases a lot of undiscovered talent in both Detroit and Cleveland. I recommend it for any hip-hop head's collection.
