Rating: Summary: haven't seen it yet Review: I don't understand why there are reviews by people who haven't even seen the dvd yet. I'm giving 3 stars just because I haven't seen it yet and it's kind of neutral. I urge everyone to wait until it's released, THEN read the reviews of those who have actually seen it. I'm a die-hard fan, so I'm hoping what everyone is saying is true. I hope it's not filmed as lousy as "A Show Of Hands" was. This will be Rush's first concert video ever to contain the entire concert. No songs will be left off this one. So far, that's a good sign. Hopefully the next thing they'll do is release the Grace Under Pressure concert on dvd, and maybe they'd even include that entire concert. That would be nice, since the video only has about an hour of the show.
Rating: Summary: UNBELIEVABLE!!!! Review: I've been a Rush fan since I was 13. I'm now 35. I've been to every concert since Grace Under Pressure and saw the CounterParts twice, once in Long Island, NY and the other in Houston, TX, which is where I'm from. With that being said, this was probably their best concert, EVER! For a trio of guys pushing 50, it makes it even more amazing!! Now I'm a drummer. And, I happen to think Neil Peart is probably the best drummer and most creative drummer I've ever laid eyes on. In my opinion, he is way underrated. Doesn't get enough praise that he really deserves. For you drummers out there, you will absolutely LOVE the drum solo!!! Having multiple camera angles is going to be awesome!! Oh yeah, the rest of the concert is great! So, buy the DVD and the CD. If you are a Rush fan you already understand. If you're not, you need to check out Rush in Rio and you'll understand why people clamor over Rush! You will NOT be disappointed!
Rating: Summary: Great show! Review: Of course I didn't watch the DVD yet. But I was there at the MaracanĂ£ Stadium that night. And what can I say?..., great show! In fact It was one of the top ten concerts I've watched till today, but from a Rush-maniac, it may be suspicious. The show lasted for over three hours with three basic sets: one with some of the Rush standards. one with a lot of new stuff, and the final with more standards and the heavy, long, progressive stuff from the begining. It was also cool that they mentioned "The girl from Ipanema" and "Milton Banana" during the show. The band and the audience were great that night, can't wait to see, again.
Rating: Summary: HOW CAN YOU RATE? (5stars cuz you can't leave blank) Review: I know we all like Rush, but isn't this supposed to be an online review of their product? Not a review of their tour? Cmon' guys and gals!!! I will add though that everything I have read about the DVD states that it should be a wonderful product, and I would reccomend every Rush fan and non-fan alike to purchase it! If you aren't a fan, you might just become one, you never know...
Rating: Summary: HOLD ONTO YOUR HATS Review: On November 6th, 2002 - I and a close friend (and fellow Rush fan) went to the Continental Airlines Arena for the long awaited Vapor Trails show. As with the Test For Echo tour, this was to be "an evening with" - no opening act. Now, I've seen Rush about 10 times since 1992 for their Roll The Bones tour. Of all the bands I've ever seen live (I've seen a lot) - nobody could compare to a live Rush performance. I have not missed a show when they came to my area since. My friend and I left that Vapor Trails show with the same opinion: Clearly, that performance was the best we'd ever seen. The three of them were so on their game, it was mind blowing. Geddy's voice sounded stronger than ever before, and they had an energy to their sound that was beyond reason. They opened up with Tom Sawyer, and it rocked!!! It set the stage perfectly for what we were in for that night. The onslaught they had prepared for us did not let up. The videos, the light show, the precision in their sound... a total attack on the senses. It is astonishing to learn that less than a month after that November, 2002 night, they recorded this most amazing show and are putting it to DVD. This release is a certain smash. If you know this band at all, you know how driven they are to put out only the best product possible. Let me tell you folks - get ready!! We are in for quite a ride!!
Rating: Summary: The return of the kings Review: I just heard the first single "Working Man" and boy are these guys pumped. I saw them this past tour in Bristow, VA., and then for my birthday in Dallas Texas at the Smirnoff. Great shows. They were having so much fun. Isn't that great to see even after all of this time. I can't wait for this release. BRING ON THE KINGS!
Rating: Summary: Will be awesome.. Review: I have seen Rush 7 times from Presto through Counterparts and saw them in Holmdel about 8 years later. What a amazing night... We had awesome seats and they kicked our butts that night! This will be the DVD to kill all live DVD's... I cant wait for it! I am dying to see his new solo up close!!! In short, if you are a newbie, buy this dvd and see what the hoopla is all 'bout.....
Rating: Summary: Best concert ever from the Canadian Trio Review: I saw Rush on this tour in San Diego and let me tell you it was the best 3 hours of my life. Not only are they still at the top of the career, but they had never sounded better than on this tour. Starting out the concert with Tom Sawyer was a nice change. Neils drum solo was incredible and Alexs take on "Jazz" was funny as hell. This DVD and CD will a must for ALL Rush fans young & old.
Rating: Summary: amazing Review: I saw this concert in Camden New Jersey .I'm from Panama and flew there specialy for it. It was the best concert that I have ever seen; These guys Rock. If you like Rush this is the best present you can give tou yourself.
Rating: Summary: In-freakin-credible! Review: Great audio, great video, and one heckuva package! As much as I love to see and hear Big Al rip through mountains of classic Rush tunes, it was the behind-the-scenes footage that made this disc a five-star extravaganza. The footage The Boyz before show ritual, Geddy polishing his wooden leg, Neil polishing is Beamer, and Alex polishing off a tin of lasgna was worth the price of the disc. This DVD is a must for all music lovers, fans and detractors alike. Make sure you find the Easter Eggs of the Centrifrugal tour video. "Crucible in the Ocean" rocked my world! Get this and the audio CD for a great Rush package deal. You won't fear the UPS guy when this package comes!
