Summary: Big Rip Off
Review: I purchased this dvd ( paid $35) only to get a defective disc that couldn't play in any machine. I had it exchanged only to get another defective disc that showed partly. The little bit that I viewed before getting a full refund was nothing more than a badly produced vcd. This is not very good for the reputation of this band... hmm, very disappointed.

Review: This DVD is a mere hint of what Steel Pulse is capable of as a live band. The two things that stood out for me was having a live horn section which hardly played and the selection of songs as well as the quantity. The DVD contains about 10 songs at least 4 were newer songs from grossly failed albums. However the older songs, the ones which gained the band its recognition were a joy to see performed live. If you are a big Pulse fan you will want this DVD but to be honest you are not really missing anything. Albums like True Democracy, Handsworth Revolution, Earth Crisis and the Live In Paris are much more enjoyable to listen to that this DVD is to watch.

Summary: good stuff
Review: This dvd is good, but I would have preferred a few more songs. The performance of the band is good, but the audience was too small , and did not seem to be exceptionallly energetic.

To the reviewers in Barbados, this is not Jazz, so dont expect to hear trumpets like those from heaven. This is reggae, so the horn men will only come on periodically.Thats enough.

Any true steel pulse fan should have this dvd. It should be more energetic, but it has good clean audio, and video.Good reggae music from a legendary band. They dont make them any more, so get this dvd.

Review: This unfortunately does not live up to the high standard of Steel Pulse's live performances. The choice of songs was poor as they were too many new songs from failed albums, also the quantity......the DVD only contains about 10 songs. This is nothing that will turn one onto the band, studio albums like True Democracy, Handsworth Revolution and Earth Crisis as well as their two live albums are much more enjoyable even though it is only audio.

One thing that was really annoying was the presence of a horn section that hardly played..thus most of the songs used keyboard(argggggggggggggh!!) horns.

I am a big Steel Pulse fan and I must be honest in saying this was a let down. Bands of this era of reggae can still capitalise on the older stuff that gained them the respect they have.
Steel Pulse is great at playing the older stuff in changed up or even more modern styles. They're so many older songs that would have made this DVD more enjoyable especially if they were songs that have not appeared on any of the live CDs..giving a fresh interpretation of the loved classics.

More than anything else this attempt has left me quite puzzled if anything.
