Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent
Review: This is a fantastic look at the reggae scene in JA during its prime. All the major figures are here...Jacob "Killer" Miller (one of my personal favorites), Peter Tosh, Dennis Brown, U-Roy, and of course Bob Marley. I can understand some people being disappointed with the movie because it doesn't have as much Marley as the cover would have you believe. Also the quality of the video is sub-par during some portions. I was thrilled that the video focused on more than just Bob Marley. Too often, filmmakers approach reggae as if Bob was the only major artist and Heartland Reggae does a good job portraying the other luminaries in this dynamic music scene. As far as the sound quality goes, it isn't the best during some portions but when you take into consideration the age of the film it doesn't take away from the quality of the music or the power of the movie.
