Summary: Just more great music
Review: Just more great music! I reveiwed MA - The Next Chapter, and stated that it was just great music, so obviously, I had to buy more MA and this DVD again does not dissappoint. Of course it is different from the Next Chapter, but is still in the same great vein. Most of the music builds into longer peices, starting out in the MA style of slower acoustic (folksyesque)sound into a progressive rock sound. As always MA are hard to define as to their music genre. One track starts out almost as an Irish River Dance style, and builds with keyboards and guitars into a a rock number, then it almost stops and becomes Irish drum and whistle, moving back to the guitar and rock sound. Another track starts out hauntingly with the great voices of Bryan Josh and Heather Finlay working together in an amazing combination. (By the way Bryan Josh has got to be one of the best guitarist around at the moment - and Heather Finlay is not only a beauty to the eye she has a voice to match. This is not to decry the amazing talents of the other band members) The song then builds into a most amazing haunting guitar solo.
Other tracks are just pure great rock and wait till you hear Mother Nature another outstanding track)
I could go on and on about the make up of each track - sufice to say - Go out and buy a MA CD or DVD. (If you want more reviews on MA check out the reviews for the CD of MA - the spirit of Autumn past and the track "the gap is too wide" that is mentioned in most reviews IS as GOOD as they say - Just buy the DVD The Next Chapter and you will not only hear the song, you will see a great visulization of this MA classic track - for me this rates up amoung "Stairway to Heaven", "Comfortably Numb", "Free Bird" etc as all time great songs)
Anyway, if you are looking for something different, some exciting music, and some great songs then you must BUY at least one MA album or DVD. My suggestion is buy "The Next Chapter" first as you will, after watching it a few times, buy this DVD also. But, it certainly is no problem buying this DVD first as it is Just more great music.

Just a note, I was lucky enough to sign up for the MA newsletter and found out that they did a special concert featuring a live rendition of their passangers album, and a second DVD of their other music. This was a limited edition 2 DVD set and boolket, and it was well worth buying. (It is called the "V" concerts) In addition there is also a limited edition MA DVD about to come out where MA perform all Pink Floyd songs. (Again, this is a limited edition release). As you can see MA have quickly become one of my favorite bands - I think a few listens from most music lovers will do the same for them.

MOSTLY AUTUMN IS A MUST LISTEN TO BAND.

Summary: mostly good
Review: those who like beautiful and symphonic progressive music with a little touch of celtic influence will like this dvd. It represents the best of this band so far... Nothing spectacular to see, but enjoyable for the ears. The singer's voice reminds a lot of the camels'one at times. The best songs are those who contains longs developpements in a pure prog tradition. The sound and picture are good for a 2002 DVD.
