Rating: Summary: Voice of Asia Review: Asia's DVD from the early day songs is very good not superb. It's understood that Asia isn't that kind of music that needs wild going. It's quite peaceful. The quality of DVD is good. It's very good filmed. If only John Wetton would have sung a little bit louder in some songs.1. Sole Survivor - a good opening track. 4.75/5 2. Don't Cry - I've always loved this song. 4.5/5 3. Voice of America - a great song but not perfect live version 4/5 4. Time Again - not my favourites but still quite a good sound 4.25/5 5. Praying for a Miracle - It should have been sung a little bit louder 3/5 6. The Smile Has Left Your Eyes - too short although a perfect song 3/5 7. Only Time Will Tell - a good live ballad 4.75/5 8. Days Like These - quite a good live version 4.25/5 9. The Heat Goes On - a perfect live version 5/5 10. Heat of the Moment - a classic but live version isn't that good 4/5 11. Open Your Eyes - a good start but the end isn't that good. The best part is missing. 4/5 There's some good bonus material too. Bonus videos are very good. "Praying for a Miracle" is a cool video cause there's winter time (4.5/5). "Kari-Anne" is a good unreleased track. The both videos have been made in 1989 (4.25/5).
Rating: Summary: ASIA: Live from Nottingham Review: I was very excited that a DVD was released with the core of the original Asia performing: Wetton/Downes/Palmer; with guitarist Thrall. I had an earlier copy from a laser disc which included an additional song, "Wildest Dreams", absent from this version. All said, I think this is a very good concert if you are a fan of the band. Wetton is in good form with vocals/bass as are Downes (keys) & Palmer (drums). Thrall adds a harder-edge to the guitar playing which gives a nice updated change (for 1990). The band is very 'tight' and plays through most of their 'greatest hits' with nice precision. ASIA play the songs with enthusiasm and style and do not sound the least bit stodgy. There are 2 concerts of this lineup available on video. I must say the other show, Live Mockba (Moscow) is a better concert and I wish it was available on DVD. Still, if you are a fan of one of the best bands from the 1980s, this concert is a must for you.
Rating: Summary: Worth picking up if you Love Asia!!! Review: This dvd is worth the money if you want to see the classic songs performed by John Wetton, Geoff Downes and Carl Palmer. Steve Howe is absent because the concert took place in 1989 or 1990 as the "Then and Now" cd was released. I enjoyed watching the video for the performance of the above listed people. The "New" guitar player Pat Thrall did not impress me at all. The video picture quality is average for the age of the video and the sound is average as well. Definately good enough to enjoy!!! songs: Soul Survivor, Don't Cry, Days Like These, Open Your Eyes, Heat of the Moment, The Heat Goes On, The Smile has left your Eyes, Only Time Will Tell, Voice of America and Prayin' For A Miracle. There are two bonus videos: Prayin' For a Miracle and Kare Anne, both of which are Ok. Based on the age of the concert and the quality I give it 3-1/2 stars.

Rating: Summary: I will give it 3.5 Review: This is a very good release, the sound is not 5.1, but it's still a good stereo mix, and sounds fantastic on my system. The picture is very good with the band not chatting too much between songs. Pat Thrall is a good addition to the band, I still remember Thrall as the hell-raising lead guitarist with Pat Travers in his whiskey-soaked heyday. I never would have pictured him with ASIA, but it mixes well. All the hits sound good even the one's I didn't like when they were released sound good (Thrall). But in reality, John Wetton really shines the most, his voice, and bass playing are top-shelf all the way. Carl Palmer is, as always, remarkable. Phil Collins (once part of Peter Gabriel's backup band Genesis) said that Carl Palmer played drums without any soul, if you can believe that tripe! Anyway this release is superior to the "AMERICA" DVD. Judge for yourself.
