Rating: Summary: smashing ! Review: A tasteful hotchpotch of Ike & Tina Turner songs. Obviously made for television, as spectacular close-ups are preferred above a more overall and integrated view of their stage show.
Highly enjoyable nevertheless, only a little short. But there's no problem in that: when finished, just start up your DVD once again. And again. And again.
Rating: Summary: The Ikettes Had it Goin' On! Review: FUnny that this isn't available yet, because I was able to get a copy at Amazon in February. Anyway, if you're an Ike and Tina (or just a Tina) fan, this is well worth the price. There's lots of stuff that most people would probably think looks "dated" from the late 60's/early 70's, like trippy-looking backgrounds and backscreen effects, but it looks great if you are a fan of that look-really fun to watch. The highlights are probably "Acid Queen" (with Tina wearing a great outfit that proves she has the best body in rock and roll, if not the world), "Get Back", "Proud Mary" and a really great version of "Honky Tonk Woman". As always, Tina really cuts loose on stage with a result that makes your jaw drop, but the Ikettes are also espcially impressive, especially during the latter number. Ike Turner claims he designed the whole 'look' of the Ikettes including their micro-mini costumes (if you're wondering how they could dance in them, the ultra-short dresses had little hotpants built in...though I notice all the band members standing behind them all have permanent huge smiles on their faces) and all their dance moves (though they had to have serious talent to pull it off, plus looks that could stop traffic), and if so he deserves credit for it-to watch them dance, perfectly choreographed, with their hair flying everywhere on the beat and moves that would throw most people's backs out-they are truly a force of nature. You have to see it to believe it! I can't recommend the video enough if you're a fan-and if you aren't, buy it and see what all the fuss is about.
Rating: Summary: Don't waste your money Review: Granted finding anything on Ike and Tina is difficult. But this offers randon performances in the 60's and 70's " I think that is the time period based on hair and clothes". The tape ends during the middle of the song. I can only hope something betters comes out.

Rating: Summary: Classic Ike & Tina Turner - but no extra DVD features! Review: Having a really big fan of Tina Turner in the family required adding this DVD to our collection. There's not a lot of offerings on video or DVD featuring both Ike and Tina together. While the performances rate a 5, this DVD rates a 1. Here's what you'll get: 8 classic tracks (probably late 60's and early 70's) including "Nutbush City Limits", "Proud Mary", "Get Back" (Nice Beatles Cover), "Acid Queen", "Honky Tonk Woman", "Baby Gets It" and "River Deep, Mountain High". When all is said and done, you have about 27 minutes worth of music. What else do you get? Nothing. The DVD features no "extras", nothing. They simply play one song after the next. It is obvious (based on the outfits and hair styles) that these performances were recorded over a period of several years. But without any notes at all, the viewer is left to wonder - what years? We own the "Cher-Believe" DVD (which we paid less for) and the bonus features alone are worth the cost of the DVD. Had we paid "bargain" pricing for this collection, I would have expected nothing. By the way, it's not in stereo either. All that aside, if you are a big fan of Ike and/or Tina Turner, you will probably get a kick out of this classic collection of performances!

Rating: Summary: Cheesey;there has to be better footage out there someplace! Review: The Ike and Tina Turner Review was an amazing ensemble, but this video does not do them justice. The choice of songs is weak, and some of the performances are lackluster (although this may not be the editors' fault). The editing is terrible, with shifts into the middle of songs and shifts out of songs before the singing is over. The psychedelic backgrounds are annoying. Worst of all, the camera pays too little attention to the amazing Ikettes as they go wild; instead, you get a lone arm flailing unaccountably into a shot that is focused solely on Tina.I love Ike and Tina and it pains me to see such slock circulating!
Rating: Summary: Great Performances, but ... Review: Their is nothing wrong with Ike, Tina and the Ikettes performances on this DVD. This is a high energy collection, but the special effects used are used just a bit too much to stay enjoyable. It would be great to see a whole Ike and Tina show on DVD or Laserdisc released with just their show and no effects used. The best songs are "Acid Queen" (no effects on this song) and "Delilah's Power".
Rating: Summary: Ike and Tina at their best! Review: This DVD should get 10 stars plus!! It has a great collection of Ike and Tina songs including Nutbush, Proud Mary, Get Back, Acid Queen, Delilahs Power, Honky Tonk Woman, Baby Get It on, and River Deep. If you are a Tina Turner Fan, this DVD will show you some of her great hits from the seventies. My personal favourites would have to be Delilahs Power, and of course Proud Mary. Check out the great music, great outfits and high energy performances on :- Ike and Tina Turner: The Best Of MusikLaden LIVE. 30 minutes of "non-stop high enrgy" performances from Ike and Tina Turner.
Rating: Summary: The performances are classic! Review: This must be the best Ike&Tina video ever, and by far one of the best music videos you can own(along with all of Tina's other videos which are even better.) In this video you get an idea of the amount of energy it takes to do an Ike & Tina show, its not until you TRY TO DANCE ALONG, (which you will inevitably do) that you get a true sense of why TINA IS SIMPLY THE BEST. The phsicadelic film screen backgrounds, and 60's/70's hair and costumes, and dance moves just add to the vintageness and beauty of the show. THE DANCING IS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE..........TINA'S VOICE IS SO PERFECT AND POWERFULL..........IT'S JUST AMAZING. The highlights are (Of course)"PROUD MARY"..."HONKY TONK WOMAN"...and "ACID QUEEN"(In which Tina shows of her sexy body with a "torn" loinclothy dress. Its wonderful and even if your not a Tina fan (How can you not be) you have to add this to your collection.
