Description:
For very serious fans only, Back Street Stories is an unauthorized documentary about the Backstreet Boys. There are no performances included here. The content is a series of interviews with four people, including an Orlando DJ, who have stories about the Backstreet Boys. These are played over repeating video clips. One man was involved with the group's early days, but his connection is never explained. Also, his story of the formation of the band differs from that of the off-screen narrator. The Backstreet Boys themselves are featured in several interview sequences in which they are sometimes quoted out of context. The video footage of some very young boys on their first trip to New York City is mildly amusing. However, the 50-minute running time relies too heavily on repeating video segments. The DVD includes a feature that will cycle still photos and short video segments, all previously shown, for each Backstreet Boy. --Larry Clark
