Rating: Summary: NOT AGAIN.... Review: This video is well mastered, visually, and tells a short story of a girl's night out. And Madonna looks great. But she is a 40 year old woman... The animated sequence is very cool, a trip back to the 70's unto itself. With the exception of going to a girlie strip club, the video is decent, intended for mature audiences, and is captivating to watch...
Rating: Summary: This was NOT the first DVD-Single in history Review: Trivia buffs and Madonna fans who have been waxing over how Madonna has become a pioneer for the DVD age by making 'Music' the first ever DVD single should step back and research what they're saying. It is now widely understood that Bjork's 'All is full of love' was the first DVD-Single in history, yet due to aggressive promoting by Maverick and the confused DVD industry, this DVD has been listed as the first. Just goes to show how hype and marketing can twist the facts.
Rating: Summary: Justify My Spending Review: Way to go Kev. The man knows his s**t. I dig Madonna, but she gets a lot of credit where it isn't due. If anyone is a pioneer it is definitely Bjork. Even Madonna copped her "Bedtime Story" song. Bjork's video was much, much better and very provacative. Madonna was an innovator a long time ago, now she just uses the best person in the current "thing" and takes all the credit for breaking new ground as a major artist. That's why most up and coming artists don't want to work with her. I have to hand it to Madonna though, she still knows how to sell herself.
Rating: Summary: Some wild fun! Review: Well, Madonna, as usual the visionary artist as she is, comes up with a video that is not exactly a RAY OF LIGHT though both helmed by Jonas Auckland. Music is a grand hip-hop affair, full of black street-culture and that not-so-subtle ghetto groove. In it, Madonna does some of the greatest spoofs of rappers and rappers' video by wearing thick gold jewelry and prancing up and down the strip-clubs. Strung together with a hyper-kinetic animation segment which sees Madonna deal with some street thugs along with her sista pals, Debi and Niki. Ali-G, the irrepressible driver of hers even commented how Madonna's "babylons looked less big than on the telly!" See the full-length uncensored version, found on this DVD, and Ali even does a parody of LIKE A VIRGIN, got me urging... Just a whole load of un on a gals' nite out!
Rating: Summary: I Wanna Dance With My Baby Review: Well, so this ISN'T the first DVD single. The first is some Bjork video. But who cares? At least we have this video comercially released! It's kind of fun, and its really a spoof of male hip hop videos. If you are a Madonna fan, well, you will want to see this video, how weird it may be.
Rating: Summary: Gina Review: Well, the song is catchy, but thats about it. I am almost positive thats Armand Van Helden in the video. But he gets no credit?
Rating: Summary: Boogie-Woogie Review: What a fab clip and what an ideal night out with the girls! A contrast to other so formal/serious clips eg "Like a Prayer", "Rain". I think that the fun, lighter side of Madonna shining through is a sure way to lure and the clip would never go amiss by a true Madonna fan. A mixture of dialogue and visual keep the viewer entertained and with a little comedy on the side. Great to see Niki and Debi again.
