Rating: Summary: Incredible Performance Review: After buying (and enjoying) "Blondie Live", I was very impressed with the video accesory. Not only does it include most of the same songs, it shows the group at their best--on stage. This document of the group's No Exit World Tour will not let down any fan, or simple viewer.
Rating: Summary: Blondie is better on DVD Review: At long last a real Hi-Fi version of a BLONDIE concert captured on DVD. If your a Blondie fan old or new this is an absolute must. The whole production has been put together surperbly and the result is a tight sound with a real presence and filming showing each performers especially Clem and Debbie really going for it.
Rating: Summary: FABULOUS! Review: Blondie's new concert dvd is simply fantastic fabulous. Debbie Harry's voice sounds stronger than ever, and this set includes most of her hits. The only one that was left out of the concert that I really missed was "The Tide Is High." I loved the version on the live cd and was looking forward to seeing the live video version. However, I highly recommend this cd to anyone who likes Blondie and anyone who likes any of the current divas in music!
Rating: Summary: Rock Legends Shine Review: Deborah Harry is blessed with the best set of vocals in rock music, bar none. Blondie's incredible artistic talent simply shines on this album. Clearly one of the best live recordings of any artist in history. Blondie who amassed 4 American and 5 Bristish #1 Singles 1979-1981, are still today one of the best producing hit machines of last 30 years. This album was recorded in anticaption of their 1999 album "No Exit", it was recorded in the promotional tour of "No Exit", which is why you have songs like the #1 European comeback smash "MARIA" and other tracks like "Forgive and Forget and Boom Boom in the Zoom Zoom Room", which are stellar album cuts, in fact I'm amazed their were not released as singles, they're just perfect pop songs. Blondie has always been known for their ability to make the perfect Pop Song, as evident in songs like "Heart of Glass", 'Call Me" and "Dreaming". This is a must buy, especially if your a fan of Deborah Harry or Blondie. Even in 2003, Blondie are still ALIVE and sounding great.
Rating: Summary: Awesome Rock and Roll! Review: Even if you are not a Blondie fan, you need to check this one out. This is what any Rock and Roll band should try for. The sound quality is first rate: as is the proformance. The Band is top notch, as is the campiness and pipes of Debbie Harry. A tight, tight show, photographad very well. Also to mention: the performance of Clem Berke on drums, just great>. If you love rock and roll as I do, this is a must have.
Rating: Summary: To hear and see Blondie live !!! Review: Even the fact that Debbie is running in her fifty's by far it's still a pleasure to see and hear Blondie live. As a matter of fact: Blondie is even better live now than let's say 20 years ago!All the hits are included on this DVD except The tide is high but therefore you get the terrific Screaming Skin, Boom, boom in the zoom, zoom room, Shayla and Union city blue. A great DVD !
Rating: Summary: Slow Start-but then look out.! Review: I am a big BLONDIE fan and have been for many, many years(no i'm not going to say how many!).I probably have rated this DVD and their show around four and ahalf stars if possible.Clem Burke gave one heck of a performance,he has lost none of his intensity. The other group members both old and new were also very good but he definately showed the most enthusiam.Debra seemed a little strained on the first two and three songs(of course this could just be persona showing through also). She started to really open up and get into touch with the audience and this is something she is a master at.She took the show over and the entire band gave us glimpse into what has made them of the original and greatest Punk rock groups around.May groups like BLONDIE keep playing until they have to wheel them out on stage and they have to have nurses standing by backstage(the last reference to Debra's own statement at a concert about having their pace makers checked before their encore-no insult intended!). ROCK ON!
Rating: Summary: Blondie-A Class act are back ! Review: I finally got to see my favourite band of all time back in November 98.When i saw this DVD advertised i just had to have it.Seeing Debbie and the boys giving it some was magnificent.I especially enjoyed again the songs 'Shayla'/'Union city blue' , 'X Offender' and the musically sensational 'Atomic' with Clem Burke peerless on drums. The close up shots on stage made you feel you were actually playing with these rock and roll legends .I wished i was !!!! I RATE IT 5 STARS ,BRILLIANT ,BUY IT TODAY.
Rating: Summary: Best Concert DVD I have seen Review: I have watched about a dozen concert DVD's. This one is the best to date. The video is crystal clear, the audio is tight (I cannot comment on the Dolby Digital), the camera work is superb and the editing brings it all together. One moment we are on stage with the band, and a few moments later we are in the balcony with the audience. The people who put this DVD together really seem to know their craft. As for the performance, everyone seems to be having fun, especially Debbie. Even old songs like 'Atomic' seem new again. The only negative, the picture quality of the video included in the extras is mediocre.
Rating: Summary: Blondie - Live In New York Review: I missed Blondie when they were recording 17 years ago. Busy with kids and stuff. I saw the free show on DTV and bought the cd. I liked that. I have now bought the dvd and and a few early albums. The band is better now than they were back then. This is coming from an old fart that never grew up, but I am hearing and seeing all of this for the first time. The dvd has an undocumented feature. They play Shayla/Union City Blues as one song. It is great. The cd only has Shayla and cuts off half the performance. Now I have to go buy more stuff.
