Rating: Summary: Forget the neighbours ! Review: Well a dear friend of mine in LA send me this DVD on my request. I just have a new surround system..uptil this DVD I thought about my neighbours..Music not too loud !! But with this DVD I let them listen along and enjoy it hopefully as much as I have done ! Unfortunately in 2001 Go Go's cancelled a short tour through Europe. Hope they change their mind Never was much into the Go Go's as a teenager but now being in my 30-s I love their songs !! These chicks know how to rock ! This concert can make the sun come out on a rainy day ! Your mood will change instantly when you see the positive energy and fun these girls have on stage. Belinda, will you marry me?
Rating: Summary: Not the best concert on DVD by a long shot! Review: Well.............What can I say. Nice lighting, good pre show extras. It's a small but nice concert style show. One hour and five minutes long. It looks like they were part of a bigger concert event with many more acts. However the sound mix is horrible. You can't hear the vocals from anybody other than Balinda. The lead guitar and bass sound is litterly not there. It's massive drums and nondiscript guitar jamming with no particular rhyme or reason. And I'm a Go Gos fan! What a shame. They still look as though they REALLY don't care for each other, but can't live without each other. One other thing I didn't care for was them just walking off stage at the end of there gig. No smiles, waves, goodnights, encores, nothing....Just gone! With a thank god this is over look on there faces. If you're really into the Go Gos MUSIC, and don't care about quality of sound mixing, go for it. The video is crystal sharp. The camera work is super, and the DVD quality is perfect (NO digital effects anywhere). There are tons of better concerts out there. Rent this and buy the others.
Rating: Summary: Who would have thought? Review: Who would have thought that the Go-Go's would sound so excellent after a 17 year hiatus from the business? I was never a big fan of the group going up (thought they were a bit too bubblegum), but I left that concert slack jawed. Somewhere along the way, these gals have dropped their cutesy pop girl image and have become rock and roll goddesses. Beautiful Jane Wiedlin and Charlotte C set the stage afire with sizzling guitar work, while KV pounds out the bass (lookin' mighty fine in black leather). And to think that Madonna had the b--lls to strum a guitar at her last concert. Jane Wiedlin, she ain't! In my humble opinion, Gina Shock is one of the best drummers in the business. Gina - you are AWESOME! Belinda's voice and attitude coasts above some of the best pop arrangements ever created. Garbage, No Doubt, and all the rest of the new girl fronted bands should take some lessons from the Go-Go's. It's unfortunate that their new songs never got the airplay that they deserved. Unforgiven is pop-punk excellence. After hearing this concert, I went out and bought the new CD. For those who think they sound old -- (...) God Blessed five beautiful and talented women by giving them the gift of eternal beat.
